As good as can be expected on such a channel I suppose, I really wish it had been on ITV1 or even ITV2 instead though...

Have to agree on this. Imagine if they get X Factor exposure

That's really good for Living. If I remember correctly, Most Haunted Live (which was one of the big tv events on Living back in the day) got similar viewing figures, so last night's result is very impressive!
Someone needs to direct me towards a link to watch this. Hate not having Sky! :(
Im glad it did well in the ratings bu i agree its such a shae it wanst on itv as it would have got more ratings and far more exposure. In a way i hope steps record new material, yes they need to update their sound but the charts need a proper out and out pop band and there is no one better than steps to fill that gap.
They've been trending on twitter and the majority of talk is positive. I'd be surprised if some new stuff didn't come out of this to be honest. I think the best they could hope to do would be to do a Blue and go to Eurovision, which wasn't a total disaster for them and probably offered them the biggest platform they were likely to get.
I think Steps will use the ultimate collection to test the water and the sales of the tour, she the demand is there i can see them announcing they will record a new album.
I doubt the Ultimate Collection will do much of anything. There's nothing to attract the fans, aside from Dancing Queen which can be downloaded on its own for 79p, and what interest is there beyond the fans? Little to none I would say.

I agree totally. I won't be buying it.

Does anyone know if theres somewhere that i can watch this online? I dont live in the UK so I cant watch it on tv.

Edit: nevermind i was able to find it online! it was very good, very emotional, i def got a little teary eyed when they showed clips of the curtain closing at the concert knowing that was it for them and knowing they knew it too.

There were some things they discussed though i'm not sure i agree on, mainly the vocal distribution, yes Claire got the lead on OFS but in all fairness it was only that song and ATLHG that she was the sole lead singer on, all the others got parts on the rest of the singles, and furthermore in terms of Faye claiming she was replaced by H, i dont agree with that either, H & Claire got DSOB and WISGB to themselves and that was it, and i think during the later years (Buzz in specific) the songs were much more 'faye heavy' (Buzzz, Happy Go Lucky, The Way You Make Me Feel, Mars and Venus, etc)

Also i really felt bad for Lee, i always thought he had a good voice, i couldnt stand H's voice, and still can't, his voice was good and they should have put him on more vocals cuz i agree, you cant hear him on a lot of the early stuff, so why was he even there? and even though i know it was H and Claire who broke steps up, i still never thought they would be the two that would have done it, if anything i would have voted for Lee to leave since he seemed out of place from the rest.

Im in 2 minds, half of me thinks it will do well and the other half thinks it will bomb, i still think it might do surprisingly well though. Funnily when take that released the ultimate collection i thought top 20 at best then fade and look how wrong i was there, and i know before anyone says it the take that comeback cannot be compared to steps.

The documentary was surprisingly entertaining. The story of how it all ended is obviously still a very raw nerve for a couple of them, particularly Faye who was quite child-like in her recollection of it and seems to be very fragile. Doing the doc must have taken a lot for her (or perhaps it just pays well). Very interesting. H is an arrogant arse though.

Exclusive: Steps: 'We were asked to perform on X Factor'

Steps have revealed that they were asked to perform on The X Factor two years ago.

The group, who have reunited for a Sky Living documentary series and the release of their Ultimate Collection album, admitted that they turned down an offer to perform on the talent show in 2009.

"We were actually asked to perform on The X Factor a couple of years ago," Lisa Scott-Lee told Digital Spy.

"We nearly agreed but timing wasn't right for us to get back together. We wouldn't say no to a Steps-dedicated week on this year's show though!"

She continued: "It's a great show because it gives new talent a platform but there's the flip side to that - it's not always necessarily about the music and longevity."

Lee Latchford-Evans added: "The new judges are great - it was definitely time for fresh blood. They're very now and they connect with a 'now' audience. People can relate to this lineup."

Scott-Lee quipped: "Gary is looking so hot on it as well. I used to be all about Robbie but now I'm a Gary woman!"

Steps release their Ultimate Collection on October 10.

Oddly, this album may not be the huge flop that everyone's expecting. It's not going to be huge but it's been hanging around the iTunes top 200 for about a week as a pre-order and it's also #17 on Amazon pre-orders (higher than JLS, Kelly Clarkson, The Wanted and Florence + The Machine ) and #75 on the overall chart despite not being released yet, surely a sign that it's going to at least going to do something?
It could do a Nicola Roberts  Tbh I think they're a shoe-in for top 40. With album sales being so low at the moment. I ain't buying it though.

I've pre-ordered it, for the DVD mainly as I already have Gold but never bought the DVD equivalent.

Definitely a band I never thought I'd see in either UK chart again so it will be nice to see. Bubblegum turn of the century pop lives on, and not just in Scandinavia!

All Out Of Love is by far the best H & Claire song - as someone said, it sounds just like a potential Steps single.

I have always LOVED Half A Heart too for some reason!

I've been reliving Steps on youtube, somehow I managed to forget the utter classic that is 5, 6, 7, 8. I've spent so many hours dancing to that track as a child (Surely part of the test to determine a 90's child should be to dance to Stop by the Spice Girls and 5, 6, 7, 8 in the appropriate manner).

Lisa looks like an entirely different person in the 5, 6, 7, 8 video to now. The rest are all just younger versions of themselves, Lee looks like he was cyrogenically frozen on the break-up and defrosted just for the re-union show.
