Not surprising to me though. He has done a great deal of promo over the last week and today particularly, is very full on. This Morning (singing Over The Rainbow), rushing up to Blackpool to switch on the illuminations, then back down to London to perform at G-A-Y!

Also I think the gold certification has boosted the sales, that and the fact that the retailers seem to have got their act together and stocked the album.

It seems strange seeing Adele at 4 still. But she has had her run.

I hate example's new song, so I would like for that to drop dramatically next week.

Looks like Nicole Scherzinger has no hope of getting the top 20 in the official charts :(
Joe back in the top 5?!

Wow! It is doing really well!

Happy for him, it is such a great album! :)

I had hoped Jessie J could re-peak this week with 'Who's Laughing Now' - but it looks set to stall at #16. It fell to #17 during the week, but has returned to its position on Sunday - so I guess being a non-mover is better than nothing; just irritating to think the EP sales didn't do much for it.

Quite shocked at Joe McElderry climbing back into the T5 - I just hope it doesn't equate to Bombay falling too much - I just hope they can beat the #8 peak of the second album 'Flaws'. Also, Beyonce still at #14?! Here's me thinking the downloading of 'Love On Top', the news of pregnancy and the music video for '1+1' would've boosted sales.

Maroon5 and Christina is gathering momentum late in the week, it is now no1 on iTunes. It seems to have picked up airplay too. Surprise contender for no1 next week maybe?

the other one improving on iTunes is Sean Kingston, obviously on the back of more and more people going to see the Inbetweeners Movie.

Nah - Pixie Lott has got the #1 sewn up...

Looking at how she's charting in Ireland, I wouldn't be so certain.

I have to agree with this, compared to the saturdays and leona's songs, I've heard it so much and it's been everywhere whereas the only thing i've heard about leona's song is the court case with avicci or whatever

Ireland aren't always a good indicator of what will happen in the UK.
Pixie Lott is always less popular in Ireland than in the UK. If you want an estimate of where she'll peak in the UK, get where she charts in Ireland, and subtract 30.

Not a 'surprise contender', just a regular contender. It's been in the top 3 and gaining on iTunes for ages, how would it be a 'surprise' if it got to #1? :P

Anyhow, I also think Pixie is guaranteed #1 next week. I think Maroon 5 will peak at #3 to be honest and I'm saying that from an objective perspective. They'll have a run of something like 3-3-3-4-3-3 before starting to fall I reckon. (They could get #2 tomorrow but I don't think they're going to overtake Ed)

as noted in the Irish Itunes thread, Pixie's songs have done much worse in Ireland than in the UK, so I don't think it not doing so well over there means its going to underperform over here as well

Zzzz.. the charts are so boring at the moment, too many one week wonders at the top spot. We could do with climbers like Give Me Everything and Party Rock Anthem getting to No 1. So.. COME ON MOVES LIKE JAGGER!!
Each to their own and everything, but I found it quite boring personally when we were on the 4th week of Party Rock Anthem at #1.

Personally I don't see what's good about the album when its full of cover versions, each to their own I guess. I would prefer BBC as its full of original material :P

I'd take good covers over crap original material any day :P (Although Bombay Bicycle Club are far better than Joe McElderry so it's very disappointing to see them out of the top 5)

Im glad joe is climbing back into the top 5, if anything it just shows how messed up the industry is at times, simon cowell dropped him like a hot popato, if syco actually put some real work into the artists and gave them time to develop and find their niche syco may make more money.
