New additions: One Direction's 'Story Of My Life', Matt Cardle's 'Porcelain', Union J's 'Union J', James Arthur's 'James Arthur' + 3 album tracks from it and Little Mix's 'Move' + 'Salute' + 2 album tracks from that. Possibly other 101-200 new entries last week still to come (zobbel.de hasn't updated yet for last week).

> 8th top 5 hit for One Direction putting them clearly in the lead for the most of those by an XF act - or if you don't count 'Wishing On A Star', it's a 7th to put them on par with Leona.

> Matt's album is the first by an XF act to fall short of the top 10 by one position.

> James Arthur's album maintains X Factor winners' 100% strike rate of having a top 5 (and indeed top 4) album to their name but he doesn't manage to become the fifth winner to have a #1 album. He and Union J take the number of XF acts with a top 10 hit album to 26 plus Jonathan Ansell.

> Little Mix are the fourth winners to get 2 top 5 albums, after Shayne Ward, Leona Lewis and Joe McElderry. Surprising considering neither made the top 2.

Another update ~ Little Mix had a third album track entering in the low top 200 (the title track) which is now added, then from last week's chart I've added in JLS' final single and greatest hits and Olly Murs' feature on a Robbie Williams album track, which becomes the second featured appearance by an XF artist on a top 100 single just 4 weeks after the first.

'Billion Lights' is the first XF song to peak at #19, leaving #17 as the only position in the top 20 yet to be the peak of an XF release. More notably 'Goodbye - The Greatest Hits' is the first greatest hits set to chart for an XF act (in fact it's the first non-studio album by an XF act to chart anywhere, not sure if any other GH/remix/live albums by XF acts have been released but if so they missed the top 200). It also puts JLS back in the lead for most charted albums (5) and extends their lead for most top 10 albums (also 5).

Added Olly Murs' 'Hand On Heart', One Direction's 'Midnight Memories' album and just a couple of album tracks from said album. Also updated the peaks of 'Story Of My Life' and Olly's Robbie collab (which surpasses the peak of 'Wrecking Ball' to become the highest peaking song with an XF act as a feature, besides 'Wishing On A Star').

1D's two highly questionable new top 40 hits from the album bring them up to 12 top 40 hits. As with the last time I updated this, JLS are in the lead (with 13 top 40 hits) and after this week Leona will be joint in the lead with them again. However, their days ahead of 1D are definitely numbered. Olly Murs was leapfrogged by 1D last week despite gaining another top 40 hit himself. He's 4th in the list with 11 top 40 hits now.

It's the end of X Factor season again so updates will likely become more sparse again now.

Updated the peak of 'Story Of My Life' again (presumably the last time), as well as Little Mix's 'Little Me', now a single and a 7th top 40 hit for them, a lead of 7 over the next most successful all-female group from X Factor (:P) and Robbie's track with Olly Murs reaching another new peak after the Royal Variety Performance.

Added Leona's Christmas single and album, James Arthur's 'Recovery', Rebecca Ferguson's 'I Hope' and 'Freedom', Union J's 'Loving You Is Easy' which apparently made the top 200 without anyone noticing and from the most recent charts (top 100 only) the new winner's single from Sam Bailey which becomes the 10th #1 out of 10 winner's singles. The Risk should have made the top 200 as the features on that ridiculous Gaz/Olabean song but I won't know its position until later in the week.

Leona's album is only the second album by an X Factor alumnus to ever climb to its peak, the previous one being the similarly titled '...With Love' by Mary Byrne. 'I Hope' is the second X Factor song to peak at #15, the only previous one was another Rebecca song ('Backtrack'). 'One More Sleep' made Leona the British female with the most top 5 hits as I'm sure you're all well aware, but that isn't even enough for her to have a clear lead as the XF act with the most top 5s, though she is joint in the lead with One Direction who also have 8.

Updated to the end of 2013. 'Party Like A Rockstar (Up Your Game)' as well as Olly Murs' 'I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday' added (top 200 entries on Christmas week) and the peaks of 'Little Me' and 'Midnight Memories' (the song) updated.

Updated to end of Q1 - always very slow for XF acts in these early weeks of the year so not a lot added. Updated the peak of 1D's 'Midnight Memories' single and added the only 2 brand new X Factor hit singles of the year so far - Little Mix's 'Word Up!' and Nicholas McDonald's 'Answerphone'. Nicholas is the first act from last year besides Sam Bailey to make the chart in any capacity, doesn't seem to be a quality crop chart-wise. (Sam Bailey probably made the top 200 with at least one album track, but zobbel.de hasn't updated last week yet, these will be added later if they made it).

The only new albums added are the debuts from Nicholas McDonald and Sam Bailey, which make it 10/10 runners-up with top 7 albums and 10/10 winners with top 4 albums respectively. Sam is the 5th of the winners to have a #1 album after Steve Brookstein, Shayne Ward, Leona Lewis (twice) and Alexandra Burke. If 'The Power Of Love' hangs on for a second week, which looks likely, I believe that'll make it only the second album by an XF winner to top the chart for more than a week, after 'Spirit' of course.

Very few updates again in the last 6 weeks. Updated the peak of Little Mix's 'Salute' (the song) which gives them their tenth top 75 (and top 100) entry. Also added in Rhydian's new album 'One Day Like This' which gives him a 4th top 40 album. Matt Cardle still racking up top 200 hits as 'Hit My Heart' got to #171, his eighth """hit""".

Also added in is the #53 hit from last year 'One In A Million' by Drumsound & Bassline Smith as I've discovered the featured singer Fleur was a member of Addictiv Ladies from the 2005 series. I'm not gonna blame myself for missing that one out previously.

Wow, that one is quite the farshot! Love that song, was gutted it missed top 40 but I would never have guessed the singer was from that awful girlband way back in '05!

Updated to the halfway mark of the year. Still very sparse updates though with only 3 additions since the last ('Ghost' obviously, Ruth Lorenzo's Eurovision track and Janet Devlin's album). Plus the peak of 'Salute' updated again.

All 10 winners have had at least one #1 single (though only 3/10 had a second #1 after their winner's single), 2/10 runners up, 1/10 3rd placers, 2/10 4th placers, 1/10 5th placers and now Ella makes it 1/10 6th placers. All excluding the 4 'finalists' charity singles of course.

Also, Ruth Lorenzo's belated first chart appearance means her series' entire top 5 have had at least a top 200 single (would have been top 100 if 'Dancing In The Rain' charted just 2 places higher).

Added:

Amelia Lily 'California' (S #83)

Cher Lloyd 'Sirens' (S #41)

Cher Lloyd 'Sorry I'm Late' (A #21)

Cher Lloyd feat. T.I. 'I Wish' (S #160)

Jake Quickenden 'Mile High' (S #95) (a belated addition for this track that charted in 2012, now he has become a finalist)

Kingsland Road 'Dirty Dancer' (S #85)

Rough Copy 'Street Love' (S #192) (lol)

Union J 'Tonight (We Live Forever)' (S #9)

Updated:

Demi Lovato feat. Cher Lloyd 'Really Don't Care' (S #92)

'Sirens' is the first song by an XF act to peak at #41. Oop.

I've also removed the asterisk next to 'One In A Million' now Fleur is a finalist in her own right.

So 10 X-factor acts have had number one's off their own back and buy that I mean not the winning single or a charity single and of all the winners, only 3 acts have scored a 2nd number one after the winners single, they being Leona, Alexandra Burke and Little Mix

This doesn't directly apply to this thread as Daniel Pearce only reached Judges Houses (and was in One True Voice from Popstars), but just realised after today's Top of the Pops that he is the vocalist on Sigma's 'Nobody To Love'!

He also sung in Dizzee Rascal's 'Dirtee Disco', is memory serves me correctly!

Not sure if you will count it but a friendly reminder that Marvin Humes from JLS is 1/3 of LuvBug which had a #13 peak in October.

Yes I believe so now you mention it!

This list is very interesting.

I think it's missing the most recent Union j's single and album, although the album is quite a flop.

Also,if charity singles are to be considered (why not? it's official in the charts),other acts aswell would be featuring

I haven't updated it for a while (I will be updating it and the 'Sound of...' list some time after this week's chart).

~new trivia~

Three new #1 albums by XF acts, none of which won the show - #1 albums by non-winners now outnumber #1 albums by winners more than 2 to 1 (13-6 to be precise). 1D became the first XF act to have three #1 albums before being matched 7 days later by Olly. Both have matched the record for top 10 studio albums (4 each, the same as JLS though they have 5 in total including their GH).

1D now have 12 top 10 singles, 'Night Changes' pushed them ahead of JLS as the XF act with the most top 10 singles (whether you count 'Wishing On A Star' or not, though if you don't count that then JLS are tied 2nd with Leona on 10).

9 of 1D's top 10 hits are top 5 hits, while Olly Murs has only 8 top 10 hits but all of them were top 5 hits. If you exclude 'Wishing On A Star' they are now both joint with Leona Lewis as the acts with the most top 5 singles.

Union J are the first XF act ever whose first top 10 single is not their highest peaking (this is largely because the majority of XF acts who have had any top 10 singles are those that went to #1 with their first single). The only other XF acts whose first single to chart was not their highest peaking are Misha B and Andy Abraham. Fleur East should join this list whenever she releases something.

Oh and a #147 hit for Sam Bailey means she has done slightly better in the singles chart than Steve Brookstein  He did have a second top 200 hit as well but only #193. EDIT: Actually Sam already had a second top 200 hit with 'The Power Of Love' (easily forgettable) so she's even better off than Steve than I thought :magic:
