It all depends how pixie lotts live performance tonight affects things. She's the only one who can challenge maroon 5 in my opinion. The Saturdays wont come close.

It really beggars belief how they are as successful as they are (top 3 in the UK charts can still be seen as very successful), they are average at best and really only benefit from the fact there aren't really any big girl groups around to challenge them.

By The Way, on a separate note, i thought the sugababes were releasing this week?

I would happily say 'About You Now' by Sugababes will be remembered for years to come. Likewise, hits like 'Sound of the Undergroud' and 'Love Machine' will be remembered for years to come. 'Notorious' is an appalling song to put forward as an example of an 'excellent' Saturdays song. Fair enough, 'Ego' and 'Up' are decent - but none of their songs are 'excellent' or 'amazing'.

Come on none of the songs you mentioned come even close to decent! They are as good as a cheap hit like Cheryl Cole's ones. Do you honestly believe FFTL will be remembered for years to come? There will be some younger and hotter girls to come in the following years forming their own girlband and given 'their own hits' so people would rather listen to them instead. ;) "Sugawhat? We have 3hot-tub now!"

Yeah, Love Machine, and Call The Shots too.

Your post started off so good then it just got poor. All Fired up is already 16% behind Maroon 5 and and expect them to be around 5% come 7-8pm tonight, Their other versions are climbing fast aswell now.

We will see, but your delusion worries me if you think 5% behind by 7-8pm is enough. they would need to be over 20% infront by midnight because m5 will only regain the lead over the week anyway

Why does iTunes freeze every Sunday when there are new releases? Can it really not handle it?

Itunes is a 48 hour chart, Saturdays wont drop until around Tuesday but I doubt they will fall dramatically as their airplay will increase with it doing well on iTunes, 20% by midnight! Example was 30% behind this time last week and things turned out great for him.

Example has got a much much wider fanbase than The Saturdays though, come on, please tell me you didn't compare the two?

48 hour it may be, but it's weighted towards recent sales, they wont gain much more after tonight i'm sure of it

in essence, it means for example if the saturdays were level with m5 by midnight. it wouldn't mean that they have sold as much in 24 hours as m5 have in 48 hours. because the chart is weighted so todays sales have a bigger effect on it

10 Leona Lewis & Avicii/ Collide

33 Snow Patrol/ Called Out In The Dark

57 Ms Dynamite/ Neva Soft

That's your opinion, About You Now is regarded as a great pop song critically whether you like it or not. Same with Fight For This Love. Girls Aloud do trump them in the critical stakes though, Biology is easily one of the best pop songs musically of the past decade. GA pretty much always get critical success, they've made some of the best pop music of the last decade, even Pitchfork love them (and they're ALWAYS overly critical of proper pop).

Can you explain? Why would TS drop around Tuesday?

You can't really predict anything with The Sats. Usually their traditional releases are always extremely front loaded (If This Is Love, Forever Is Over, Missing You), yes, but have people forgotten how long Up, Ego, Issues and Higher lasted in the charts? If their song is good enough, it'll hang around.

You know, frontloaded or not, I started to like their song. I hope they can manage to sell well through the week and finish top 3.

This is actually great for Leona, its #10 (#5 on album chart too) she hasnt been in the UK top 10 for coming up to two years now since Happy () back in 2009!

Its going to climb now to i'd say top 5 too, so i'm chuffed for a song which isnt in the top 50 on radio & has only had 1 week TV play :D
