November 4, 201113 yr - Why is 'Marry You' track number 4, it wasn't even that big? - Westlife on a Now! album :o - Actually a good few ballads/ mid-tempos, but I prefer Now 79's Disc 2... Nearly all dance!
November 4, 201113 yr Promises was number one as well and that's missing too! Also I really dont like it when Now put on old songs on new releases.
November 4, 201113 yr Author Promises was number one as well and that's missing too! Also I really dont like it when Now put on old songs on new releases. But then neither Iris or Cannonball have been on a Now album before! They were both big hits in 2011 and representative of the last few months, Iris especially, so I'm glad that they're on there! Very surprised at Promises being missed :o
November 4, 201113 yr I think it's pretty perfect. The no.1s skipped a non no.1s and honestly quite crap and every song I wanted is there. Odd track placings but I don't really care. Bruno and Adele may have missed the top ten but they've still been big, consistent hits.
November 4, 201113 yr A very good tracklist, and probably one of the best for a while! GUTTED for Belle Amie though! :( :kink: I'm guessing the inclusion of Westlife is to round up their career, as I really can't see it being a hit. This is also the first Katy Perry-less compilation since 'Now! 74' - hopefully 'The One That Got Away' will become a hit, and be included on 'Now! 81' :P Edited November 4, 201113 yr by THEO.
November 4, 201113 yr Belle Amie LIED TO US! I never ever thought at the beginning of the year that the lead track for NOW 80 would be a duet between Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera.
November 4, 201113 yr Well Belle Amie were obviously misinformed! Shame not to see them on there - otherwise good listings :)
November 4, 201113 yr Good tracklist. And a nice balance of music overall. Really shows how varied the last few months have been. Disc 2, though. Lovely set of club tracks. Only the last 4 tracks and a few in between would be out of place in a club. Not the most imbalanced a NOW disc has been, but Disc 1 clearly has all the pop radio-friendly songs. I just enjoy comparing things. :)
November 4, 201113 yr Just realised Snow Patrol and Coldplay didn't make it. A bit gutted but it's still an exceptional list.
November 4, 201113 yr Just realised Snow Patrol and Coldplay didn't make it. A bit gutted but it's still an exceptional list. ugh, just realised that too :( (although I do already own Paradise :P ) anyway, thats a pretty good tracklisting, no bizarre inclusions and, as they mainly do, sums up very well the biggest hits of the last few months, JLS, Cher and Nero are slightly surprising omissions but none have particularly aged well (even though I still love Promises) so thats OK
November 4, 201113 yr Pretty impressive track listing. But alas no Beyonce. Kinda disappointing :( But it's still a pretty good track listing
November 5, 201113 yr Ah yes! No Beyoyo 'Best Thing I Never Had'! :o Why have they snubbed her this year?

November 5, 201113 yr Author Ah yes! No Beyoyo 'Best Thing I Never Had'! :o Why have they snubbed her this year? She doesn't feature that regularly on them does she? :o I don't recall the majority of the hits from I Am...Sasha Fierce appearing on Now compilations, only Sweet Dreams and Halo did I think.
November 5, 201113 yr She doesn't feature that regularly on them does she? :o I don't recall the majority of the hits from I Am...Sasha Fierce appearing on Now compilations, only Sweet Dreams and Halo did I think. And she wouldn't let 'Telephone' feature on the album either!
November 5, 201113 yr I say this every now an again but there was a time when they would not include artists on consecutive editions even though the artists had hits in the period covered.
November 5, 201113 yr I say this every now an again but there was a time when they would not include artists on consecutive editions even though the artists had hits in the period covered. that's because they didn't have copyright to a lot of songs. So when they did splurge on the NOW they would get the occasional sony or warner artist. I don't know why, but I was expecting something a lot bigger for the 80th edition. But it's good still, kind of reminds me of Now 74 and that was a pretty strong NOW
November 5, 201113 yr TWO older songs on this one? And neither are the original version of WYWG? Hmph. 'I Need' is a bizarre inclusion. Have they actually snubbed 'Let Me Go' in favour of it? This is the first Now! since 63 to not be led by a #1 (and the first since 59 where neither CD is led by one). Edited December 2, 201113 yr by Bré
