I hope they have a chance of an XF slot, even if it's not on release week. Cee Lo Green is the first guest performer along with Matt Cardle this weekend. Cee Lo had one #1 single here in the UK, a platinum debut album here, and the rest of his singles have peaked in the top 20. IMO The Sats have had far more success here than him, it's irritating to see them getting snubbed, especially when they're a British act, there are girlbands on the show in the groups category and the girls themselves have been successful. I mean, they're hardly unknown - they're usually in the media near enough on a daily basis!

I know it's not the be all or end all, but it would be nice to see them on a prime slot for once. Peter Loraine needs to get on his knees, beg and offer hard cash. :P

Rihanna moved the We Found Love release forward to yesterday so that's her out the way in terms of competition in release week. So they're just going up against the Children In Need single now aren't they? Plus entries from the week before.

the new song is nice enough and another top ten hit i am sure. It is no Here Standing though....
The thing is, they were on Xtra Factor last year too so Simon/the producers are obviously aware of them. Rochelle is also dating a succesful X-Factor contestant, Tulisa is friends with The Sats, Gary is aware of them (they supported him on tour) and The Sats themselves have a good relationship with ITV (the documentary on ITV2, all the promo they do on ITV shows)....it just seems weird that they don't get to perform.
The reason that The Saturdays aren't on The X Factor are because they're not critically acclaimed - look at Girls Aloud, it took them five years to finally get critical acclaim for their work, and unless The Saturdays get given some genuinely good material, they won't be. All this "Britain's Biggest Girlband" stuff is rubbish, when we all know they're only it by default.

You do realise that since Girls Aloud split and the Sugababes got their 15th member, there have been other girlbands..

Whether you like it or not, they are not just Britain's biggest girlband by default, they are the only girlband (of late) that will still sell.

Sugababes didn't even dare to release their latest single for people to buy, because it would flop. Girls Aloud's last single didn't go top 10.

So cut the "by default" crap, they are Britain's biggest girlband right now and I can't see anyone coming along to take their crown anytime soon.

Girls Can't Catch, SoundGirl etc would surely agree..

Gotta agree with Scherz on this one. Yes they are by default the biggest group but it's not like no-one else has came along during their time in the charts. Plenty of girl group competition for them has come and gone.

And regarding xfactor, it really is swings and roundabouts with this. 'Notorious' didn't do that well, but give it the benefit of the doubt as on air/on sale was a huge contributor to screwing that up (btw, funny how on air/on sale is now "dead in the water" as it's been abandoned). 'All Fired Up' started off great.. but started falling and we're still waiting to see how that goes. Their ticket to xfactor this year really was the sucess they have this year pre-xfactor, and so far it's not looking that great imo...

But the fact Cee-Lo is American IS one of the reasons why he's on XF this week. It's UK vs US as the theme for contestants so they have Matt (winner of last year so understandable) for the UK and Cee-Lo to represent for the US. Also the fact he is really, really popular WW is why he has been given the slot (as much as I dislike him). The Saturdays time will come one day. Whether it's this year or next they will perform at some point I reckon. They have too big a fanbase for Simon to just ignore.
Yeah, they really need to start picking up the awards and getting more critical recognition. If they got nominated for a Brit Award or something they'd probably have more of a chance. They've only won one award in their career. :(

morbid much?

maybe we should create one of those facebook like things saying 'GET THE SATURDAYS ON THE X FACTOR" and see how many followers we can find..

I don't see how they could egnore that they have 10 Top 10 singles (half of GA's record), 3 Top 10 albums, 3m sales. But if GA is anything to go by they didn't get a slot untill they where 5yrs into their career.
NO! Please don't create a Facebook page. If they only receive like 128 likes, then well....yeah.

I don't think X Factor had special guests until Series 3 (2006), and Girls Aloud were invited to perform the year after, so it's not like they kept getting snubbed. In 2006 Girls Aloud managed a Strictly Come Dancing slot. I think a factor that helped Girls Aloud in 2007 was Cheryl meeting Simon in early 2007 due to Comic Relief's Celebrity Apprentice. They obviously got on, so perhaps that helped secure that year's performance for them (Call The Shots).

Simon Cowell has always seemed a bit down on The Saturdays for some reason. I don't think it's on YouTube anymore, but there was a clip from The Xtra Factor in one particular year, where they were discussing the misfortune of girl band contestants on The X Factor. Somehow actual successful girl groups were brought up by Louis - he mentioned Girls Aloud, Sugababes, The Pussycat Dolls and The Saturdays... and Simon rolled his eyes when Louis mentioned The Saturdays.

A lot of time has passed since then, and The Saturdays have proved they're pretty much a constant feature in the Top 10, yet they're overlooked to perform on The X Factor. We have to remember that the Sugababes were also overlooked, even in 2007 and 2008 when they were still considered to be a top girl group.

I definitely keep my fingers crossed for an appearance this year, I think they more than deserve it! :D

I have doubts they will make the top 10, I really do. They're up against strong competition from release week and previous weeks.

Should radios be playing it at this stage ? Or is it too early ?

They're on a radio tour. They should/will be playing it.

Surprised to see that My Heart Takes Over has still not entered the rolling 100 yet!
they have been on Real Radio and Lecistershire radio i recall this week.. so hopefully airplay will pick up next week!
