Posted September 12, 201113 yr So how do you all think freedom will do, considering its being snubbed by radio 1 who have backed them on literally every song and the video is barely shown on tv. i see it missing the top 40 or just scraping it 8kQ3btqRHjg
September 12, 201113 yr It's a tough one! I quite like Freedom, but I think they've went a line up change too far now. So regardless of how good Jade is.. Noone will take them very seriously.
September 12, 201113 yr It could do anything tbh. I wouldn't be too shocked with top 20, but I could also easily see it peaking lower than Follow Me Home (thus becoming their lowest charting single ever). I actually can't wait to see how it turns out!
September 12, 201113 yr Interesting as apparently they have a 3 album deal. Sony aren't going to want them to flop with no promo. Heard it on commercial radio a bit but no R1 for the babes is a bit of a death knell perhaps. Will it have a physical? I'd say after Keisha left it seemed about 50% of the hardcore fanbase went with her but sure they'd still boost by a few thousand if there's a CDS maybe scrape T10. Is catchy enough but not beyond what anyone else is putting out, don't see it challenging for no1 the way all the babes previous singles did

Heard it on commercial radio a bit but no R1 for the babes is a bit of a death knell perhaps. Those three album deals are pretty standard. Doesn't really say anything but that they want to tie them up for another few albums if Freedom and the album ends up doing decently. 23 maybe. Although it's hard to predict as they might have a slight fanbase left that may take them into the top 20, but I can't see it going further than that. Edited September 12, 201113 yr by tommie
September 12, 201113 yr Well they have been promoting. They done T4OTB, Super Saturday, G.A.Y on Saturday, This Morning today. And in the week of release they have Sam & Mark, Album Chart Show, The Hot Desk and Daybreak. I think Top 10. Wear My Kiss and About a Girl both sold 40,000 in their first weeks remember. Why would they go in at 40?
September 12, 201113 yr I would say top 10 and then plummet the next week like the usual Sugababes releases these days.
September 12, 201113 yr Wear My Kiss and About a Girl both sold 40,000 in their first weeks remember. Why would they go in at 40? Wear My Kiss was number five on airplay and I'm pretty sure About A Girl dented the top 15 on airplay - this hasn't even graced the top 100 with less than two weeks to it's release. September 12, 201113 yr I think top 15 or 20, they still have a fanbase I think, it will plummet the next week though
September 12, 201113 yr I really hope this will surprise and actually do well. I really like it, it's definitely up with their best for me. Just a shame radio are determined not to support them this time round.
September 12, 201113 yr It's quite simply not a good enough song. They honestly expected this to save their image after the Sweet 7 era?? It's so boring! They haven't tried hard enough, it doesn't deserve top ten.

September 12, 201113 yr It's not bad - Hopefully they can still sell alright but I think they're past it now. Top 15/20.

They haven't tried hard enough, it doesn't deserve top ten. I agree. The song is just so boring and the less said about it's video the better (from what you can see of it, cough). I think it deffinately has that Sugababes sound but they needed to up their game, especially after their last under-performing/flop eras, and line-up changes.

If they thought this would save the b®and then they're idiots. Top 40.
September 12, 201113 yr Well it's still far superior to 'All Fired Up' and that's done pretty well for itself so... All Fired Up at least you can dance to in clubs and has a huge chorus. Plus the video is much better than Freedom. I like the Sugababes, I honestly wish they'd have a success but releasing Freedom as a lead single is just a joke. It's too slow to dance to (so won't get played in clubs), has no proper hook, the chorus is really slow and a non-event. The video is so dark and doesn't go anywhere and I can't imagine it's a song that would work well live. It's like Get Sexy part 2.
