October 11, 201113 yr #34 on iTunes, I think next week will be it's last week top 40. Pixie Lott - All About Tonight #23 The Saturdays - All Fired Up #34 Leona Lewis/Avicii - Collide #70 Edited October 11, 201113 yr by lee wallace
October 12, 201113 yr #39 now. :o Looking for a 3 - 5 - 15 - 21 - 22 - 38 type chart run. WTF?! Why does this always happen to The Sats but nobody else??
October 12, 201113 yr if they want this to sell they need to go down to 59p asap! unless they are just trying to save some sales for ON YOUR RADAR
October 12, 201113 yr Author Oh this is not good... I would have put the price down to 59p last week and the fact that they haven't says this: a) They need a dollar, dollar, dollar, a dollar is what they need b) Will hopefully persuade more people to buy the album instead c) The next single is coming out in 4wks, they might want a bit of a gap in the charts to make way for My Heart Takes Over But this is so far under-performing. Such a great start though.
October 12, 201113 yr I've said this before and will say it again, reducing the song to 59p should not be used as some tool to stop it from flopping. It shouldn't have to be reduced in price to sell and therefore have a better run.
October 12, 201113 yr They're going to be out of the top 50 by the end of the week, I think. Love The Way You Lie and about 10 other 59p songs are shooting up the chart.
October 12, 201113 yr I think All Fired Up would have done better had it not dropped out of the 10 due to the 59p effect and xFactor, however if they do reduce it to 59p a week before My Heart takes over it should help album sales as you can complete the album for cheaper, something The Saturdays should be doing imo.
October 13, 201113 yr I'd be up for it being reduced to 59p. (I think *everything* should be sold for 59p on iTunes, so much more reasonable, lol... I miss the 29p Amazon downloads :kink: )
October 13, 201113 yr they will never have longevity like they had with up :( over 30 weeks in top 75 if sales was higher in 2008. i think it would be platinum
October 13, 201113 yr Author I'd be up for it being reduced to 59p. (I think *everything* should be sold for 59p on iTunes, so much more reasonable, lol... I miss the 29p Amazon downloads :kink: ) Reasonable? For customers maybe yes. The industry would fall flat on it's face.
October 13, 201113 yr They need to reduce this to 59p, I must admit I can't believe that it's going to struggle to reach 200,000 after such a fantastic start. Not looking good for On The Radar, however they're are less than 100copies left of the Deluxe version of On The Radar. It's #39 on iTunes and I think it really needs to remain in the charts for as long as possible, like i said 59p and it will make the album cheaper for some on iTunes meaning more sales, and sales are vital in November, They could be out the top 100 in 5 weeks with just over 100,000sales which will be a flop... How will the album sell so much if the single struggles to sell over 150,000?
October 13, 201113 yr Author You've made some excellent points Lee. The whole point of a single is to promote the album and if it's 2nd offering can't even stay Top 40 for 6wks then there may be a bit of an issue. You can see why they wanted to put 3 singles out before the albums release now. I normally look at their discography and try to predict what 'My Heart Takes Over' will do for them, same with 'On Your Radar', but because their discography is so over the place for one reason or another it's really hard to say what's in store for them.
October 13, 201113 yr It's very tiring and repetitive being a Sats fan. It seems like all we do is say "omg it's climbing so fast on iTunes, possible #1?!?" then "it's already started falling :(" then "it'll be out of the top 40 in a few weeks" and then a while later we're like "well maybe the next single will be a big hit". Their releases are just too front loaded. They're becoming like McFly! Decent first week sales and a definite top ten placing, but after that the material just plummets. I could understand Forever Is Over (marmite, too soon after the first era, Missing You (too much pre-release promo, marmite) and Notorious (OA/OS, bad airplay, very marmite) flopping but why this?! It's very radio friendly, it's very 2011, it's got decent airplay, it's had okay promo and yet it's out of the top 40 after a possible six weeks, meanwhile 'All About Tonight' is #22 on iTunes and has already racked up over 230K. 'All Fired Up' is similair to other huge songs this year yet it isn't getting the same success. Why?? Is it just a Sats thing where they HAVE to underperform all the time??
October 13, 201113 yr The thing is Headlines could have done much worse if it wasn't for their documentary I remember it always climbed around 6-9 places from the midweek.
October 13, 201113 yr Reasonable? For customers maybe yes. The industry would fall flat on it's face. Not really. I think sales could be through the roof if all songs were 59p. I think people are more than likely to buy songs on a whim if it was 59p. The amount of times I've debated on whether to buy the song on iTunes because it was 99p is ridiculous. I'd probably buy more tracks than I usually do now, if they were 59p or something. I'm sure the difference in sales would be big enough to compensate for any (if there would be!) damage.
October 13, 201113 yr Up to #37 on iTunes, it always gets a small boost at the weekends. Hopefully gets a seventh week top 40 next week once the 59p songs all drop.
