She doesn't have a more perfect selection of singles from any other album.

Fever says hello.

(If it was 'Like A Drug' and not '2 Hearts' I would probably actually agree with you)

Fever says hello.

That's the one which sprung to my mind too. I also think that from the material that's on there, the Body Language singles were chosen well, although I wouldn't call them "perfect" despite being perfect choices (at least not in the way those from Fever or X).

Fevr would be perfect single wise if she had released Love Affair over Come Into My World :(
The whole of Fever is rather amazing, TBH. Burning Up being one of my favourites from the album. I absolutely love the Burning Up section on the Fever2002 tour, and it was rather nice of her to include it on Showgirl Homecoming, too.

Yeah, it's not as good as most make out or the amount of success it received. It's a still a very good album, don't get me wrong, but Light Years is...well...light years ahead of it.

Fever's singles aren't as good as X's IMO. CGYOOMH, In Your Eyes and Love At First Sight are all perfect but I'm not that fussed with Come Into My World, whereas I love all four X singles.

I'd agree with what Liam said about the right singles being picked from Body Language but them not actually being perfect, also.

Light Years

The single campaign for Light Years was excellent, TBF. And the videos for each single were rather amazing. The beginning of On A Night Like This is so slutty, and Please Stay is arousing when she goes downstairs to the snooker club. :kink:

I would certainly agree Light Years is a better album than Fever, i would disagree that the singles campaign for Light Years was spot on. Please Stay while a nice catchy song but was best left staying as an album track. There were other songs that would have been bigger hits and sold the album a bit further. The video's were all excellent for all the singles but so were the Fever video's.

The singles campaign for Fever was fantastic, all singles were well promoted and performed well and each single gave the album a nice sales injection. Come Into My World i would agree was a weak choice but it did reasonably well for a 4th single of a big selling album.

X had some fantastic singles if only they released Like A Drug instead of 2 Hearts or properly released The One, had it gone that way X would have without doubt hit double platinum sales in the UK if not more. X in parts is a bloody amazing album that is home to so many great tracks.

Did anybody else watch An Audience With Kylie Minogue back in 2001? I'm watching that just now on YouTube, yet I can still remember all of what happened in it, especially that duet with Kermit the frog. The performance with Adam Garcia, though, of Better the Devil You Know just always reminds me of the Kylie/Leon X Factor duet.
I have seen it a few times and it was a great show and i still enjoy the Kermit duet. I did not like the Adam Garcia duet as i did not like that version of Better the devil you know, likewise i did not like the arrangement of the song when she dueted with Leon Jackson. Fever (the song) was performed greatly on that show and the megamix was so full of life.

I always get the impression that Fever's a very provocative song, TBH - and she proved that on the Fever2002 tour, which was rather nice. :kink: Love when she performs it.

Tightrope is flawless. It should've been on the main tracklist (although not in place of anything else). Fever is an astonishing pop album. One of the best ever. X does not compare.

'Please Stay' is sweet and catchy but to be quite frank, before I had listened to the whole of Kylie's back catalogue, I had no idea it was a single! The previous three singles from Light Years were really big, I seem to remember (that said, the chart runs for 'Spinning Around' and 'On a Night Like This' really don't reflect that). It would probably have been best releasing 'Your Disco Needs You' in the UK instead. Yes it was extremely camp, but this is what Kylie was starting to be all about. Unless the record company just didn't want her to be perceived as such, but that didn't ever work out. :P

That said, 'Please Stay' did perform reasonably well for a 4th single in the Christmas market (this market seems to be very hit and miss when it comes to new releases). Besides, it is a good song so it's not as if I feel disgusted it was a single. It's a bit like 'Come Into My Word' - it performed well considering, was catchy and a very good song, but not "perfect" like the previous singles. Then again, for 'Come Into My World', I can't think off the top of my head a better choice of single.

I love '2 Hearts' so I always object to this being replaced, however I do think it would have been good if 'Like a Drug' had been released, but then again, I'm not too fussed it wasn't as I feel that something would have to be replaced. 'The One' certainly did deserve a proper release, does anyone know why the physical release was dropped last minute?

It would probably have been best releasing 'Your Disco Needs You' in the UK instead.

YES, Your Disco Needs You is fab! One of the highlights of Light Years for me.

I dont think your disco needs you would have worked as a single, i do like it but i think it may have been perceived as far to camp and thats why they didnt go with it as a single. For me i like please stay but wouldnt have picked it as a single, but on reflection it went top 10 at christmas time and didnt get lost by any means and did well as fourth single, for me under the influence, disco down, possibly butterfly or light years would have made stronger singles. I do love light years album though and its probably her strongest album for me and was such a fantastic comeback. Fever was excellent to but the one thing i so remember when listening to light years was thank god the Kylie i really love is back, i loved impossible princess wasnt so keen on km94 but as good as IP was it wasnt what kylie does best.

X was hit and miss for me on release, 2 hearts i dont hate or love but the one thing i will say for X the songs that are good are excellent and i adore them, Wow, In my arms, the one, like a drug i adore to this day and listen to them alot, stars i still enjoy from time to time and 2 hearts gets an odd listen to as well, the others i dont really care for all that much. I still believe like a drug and The One shoud have proper full on singles and had they been singles they would have done well and X would have achieved higher sales.
