We've discussed it a bit in the Alexis Jordan thread in Pop, but that thread's long died anyway, so it's probably better here (and fits more, because it's Sean's song, really).

Can't wait for this to be released though. Definitely my most anticipated UK release for a while. I want to hear it everywhere now. Guess I'll have to wait a month. :(

I also am anticipating its release here in the Uk...really REALLY want this smash in the Uk. Alexis in particular sounds amazing in the chorus. Looking at the release schedule though it's got quite a lot of competition though from Kelly Rowland, Jennifer Lopez, The Wanted, Bruno Mars, Cher Llyod and Beyonce all releasing the same week, although saying that a few of them will already be available die to being on their albums. I reckon it will probably hang around the top 10 for a while but peak at around 4/5ish
I love this song so much!!! I also really want it to be a hit. And Alexis looks sooooo hot in the music video.

I don't know what to make of it. The chorus is wonderful but the production is very Stargate-by-numbers and is a bit clunky in parts. It'll either be a massive hit or a massive flop. ONLY TIME CAN TELL.

I agree about the Stargate-by-numbers thing. It sounds similar to about 5 of their other songs.

How do I phrase this without sounding like a blind loon?

Alexis lifts that chorus so much, I don't even notice the production. It's a little dated, but Alexis makes the song all worthwhile, especially that thing she does with her voice, not sure how, but it lifts the song from average to awesome. Sean does a similar thing in the verses, it's not as effective, but the vocals on this song mean that the production is enhanced beyond generic. If that makes sense. The flow stops it from becoming a dud, but it's a close thing, you can feel that. It's like they are trying their hardest to make it great, and for the most part, they've succeeded.

In what ways do you believe they've been trying their hardest to make it great?

Sean Paul without cornrows is just plain WRONG!! :(

It's all a bit 'Te Amo' in places but that is no bad thing. I would LOVE old Seany to make a massive comeback - a big big fan of his past material (and this).

And Alexis sounds good (!) which is a nice surprise!

All in all, PLEASE BE MASSIVE.

Don't get me wrong, I love the instrumental aswell! I think the whole song is brill! It sounds to me a bit like What's My Name? to me, but that's not a big deal (if anything, it's a good thing! :D). I love the vocals too. It's just so catchy! :D

He really does have some GOLD in his musical TREASURE CHEST. 'Temperature', 'Ever Blazin'', 'Like Glue', 'Get Busy' (I do a SPECIAL rendition when intoxicated of this), 'Baby Boy', 'Gimme the Light', the HIT PARADE just goes ON AND ON.

He reminds me of a modern day Mr T with that new hair.

The almost frantic rhythm of the track, really. It feels like at any point they could be majorly messing up and delivering a chord that could ruin the whole thing, but they don't.

I know that's not how it works, but anyhow, I would be very impressed if they performed it perfectly live.

I don't think I'll ever like a Sean-Paul song with THAT voice :( I don't know what to think of this; Alexis doesn't sound that good on it, and the chorus is already upon you before you realise it. It's not terrible, but it feels very 'empty'.

Ah I know! Love him.

This just keeps on growing and growing on me, I'd go so far as to say it's my current JAM (along with 'We Found Love' of course). It has the potential to be MASSIVE.

ahaaa it really is!

Jake's gotten me properly addicted to this song now. Can't get enough of it. He's got one of those Rihanna voices where he could just sing the phonebook and I'd love it.

This is OK, I don't know what it is about it but it feels I really should like it more but I just can't? I think it's just, nice though Alexis is, she's a bit too dull to carry the whole song to 'great' levels all alone, as I'm not really a Sean Paul fan. But it's a nice enough song, should be a hit and I wouldn't mind it being big.

I don't even know where this came from or how on earth it happened.

One of the best pop choruses of the year.

So many people in this topic are really DISAPPOINTING ME. :(

Sean Paul is awful. This song is especially bland.

I couldn't find a thread for 'She Doesn't Mind' but it's seriously one of my favourite songs of the year. ANTHEMIC, I'd even go as far as saying.

I can just listen to it over and over and over and over.

I've just got around to downloading 'Tomahawk Technique' so can't give an opinion on it yet, but the artwork is a serious contender for the worst artwork ever...the negative effect, garish colour scheme (yes I get it, the whole Jamaica theme etc. but seriously?), the awful font, placement of said font...BLAH. Oh Seany P!
