October 8, 201113 yr How many have missed it? Seems a rather high number. I also can't help but notice that that includes lot of the frontrunners. The results would look crazy like this. Shouldn't we have a grace period or something?
October 8, 201113 yr ok...I've been really busy travelling a lot and I swear that I thought it's 11 PM as well. I am sending votes now...it's up to Martyn will he accept it or not.
October 8, 201113 yr How many have missed it? Seems a rather high number. I also can't help but notice that that includes lot of the frontrunners. The results would look crazy like this. Shouldn't we have a grace period or something? It's probably our (ie the mods') fault tbh. If any of us had noticed the closing time in the first place, we probably would have suggested that it was made a bit later.
October 8, 201113 yr As Jark says rules are rules, it's just unfortunate that it seems quite a few of us got caught out.
October 8, 201113 yr If the results aren't till tomorrow evening, wouldn't it be logical to let the people who haven't voted vote until 11pm tonight (which many thought it was) seeing as there is quite alot who haven't done so (and would probably affect the results quite a bit).
October 8, 201113 yr If it helps HyunA get higher by default - DON'T ACCEPT :P I joke, if people thought it was 11pm then fair enough, in their defence 11am is an odd deadline.
October 8, 201113 yr In principle I'm with Jark, the thread (and contest) has been open for absolutely ages and there really is no excuse for not being able to vote on time.
October 8, 201113 yr On one hand I think 11am is an odd time and 11pm would make more sense. But as someone who didn't make the final and didn't get caught out, I'd personally find some of the deductions quite amusing (or rather, I'd find Tyron getting robbed of a win moderately funny).
October 8, 201113 yr I really don't see what is difficult about voting on time, everyone was aware of the deadline :P I did vote right? I can't remember.
October 8, 201113 yr In principle I'm with Jark, the thread (and contest) has been open for absolutely ages and there really is no excuse for not being able to vote on time. This much is true. I've never missed a deadline for anything BJSC related or any other competition on the board as a whole, but then I've always been good at time management and the general consensus in that Lounge thread recently is that most people aren't  I don't generally agree with accepting votes after deadlines, as they're there for a reason but it does seem that maybe 10-15 people voted late, which is unprecedented, maybe people thought that Martyn made a typo by putting 11am. Were reminders sent out this month? They're not compulsory but they usually give people a nudge to get their votes in if they've been preoccupied with other things and forgotten, or even just to confirm to people what the deadline is if they haven't read the opening post! It's up to Martyn of course, I've refused late votes before but only when they were sent to me an hour before the final and I'd done all of the prep, or in one case halfway through me presenting the results
October 8, 201113 yr I voted between 9am & 11am this morning and never got a reminder so it doesn't appear they were sent out, no.
October 8, 201113 yr Whaat? I missed the deadline? :o I thought that deadline is 1 hour before midnight?..
October 8, 201113 yr But that means that there would be so many countries banned from the next contest for not voting! We've had it all in this contest!
October 8, 201113 yr Hmm yeah, that's true. We'll have no-one left for the next contest! Well, think of it this way. More chance of us who did vote winning the next contest :P
