Btw is Rihanna's track available elsewhere apart from iTunes, as other tracks will have advantage over her. Not that it really matters, as they don't add much sales in the end.

Rihanna already at 2, then! Awesome. She go SMASH that! :D

I'm firmly placing myself in the Rihanna camp, then, will finish off a nice string of number 1s that have been increasing in quality ever since the low of Don't Go, should it get there)

While I wouldn't have minded seeing Maroon 5 at number 1, I'm pretty much over it now, and have been for a while.

If Rihanna gets there this week, Matt Cardle will probably get it the week after, and Rihanna could return back at #1 the week after, but saying that Joe McElderry's comeback single did not get there. So after all Rihanna could get a few weeks at #1 before The Collective (Children In Need single) appears. So I can't see it happening for Maroon 5, this week is their last shot at the #1 still early days though anything could happen between now and Sunday, unless Gym Class Heroes stick a spammer in the works which is released this weekend. Its going to be an interesting few weeks.

I hope Rihanna doesn't get #1 this week because I don't want everybody to start hating her.

The vast majority of Rihanna songs didn't debut at their peak, so this might not either.

 Highly doubt that. But i see what you mean a few people on here may be angry at her from stopping M5 getting to #1 finally.

Cant believe all Gaga songs are 59p! (You and I #26)

Wherever You Will Go  #16 :o

Collide  #46 wont even be top 40 this week. Not surprised the radio support has literally been non-existant. Personally i've heard it twice and thats it. It peaked at #28 on radio and that was it in the top 40, one week.

1. We Found Love (feat. Calvin Harris) - Rihanna

13 hours to get to #1 on a Wednesday for a song with barely any airplay so far and obviously zero video play. Huge!

I can see her shifting 80-90k in four days, which is way more than Maroon 5 are projected to do, it's definitely game over for them now :(

We Found Love  #1 :( I don't even care that MLJ has not got to #1 yet, I just feel like its been everywhere the past few weeks, and the key song i hear people talking about/singing/played in clubs. For that reason i want it to go to #1 over Rihanna. She can have it the week she releases her video :kink: !!

She's getting her revenge for the same thing happening to her last year with Love The Way You Lie

I'll take consolation from the fact that this is at least a genuinely huge song that will hang around for ages and not an 8 week held back release that will be out of the top ten within three weeks. At least this could prove a match for Moves Like Jagger in total sales terms whereas the last 5 songs that stopped it won't come anywhere close.

Gaga update:

You & I -- #26 & #315

The Edge of Glory -- #37 & #259 & #469

Born This Way -- #60 & #437 & #815

Judas -- #128

Hair -- #506

The Queen -- #928

The Lady is a Tramp -- #172

Bad Romance -- #107

Telephone -- #122

Poker Face -- #147

Alejandro -- #176

Just Dance -- #177

Paparazzi -- #218

Speechless -- #520

Teeth -- #706

LoveGame -- #766

No sign of Dance in the Dark :( I guess this will forever remain a hidden Gaga gem that could have been huge!

Hope it loses steam very quickly!!! Really want MLJ to get to number one :-(
Gutted for Maroona how depressing yet again. Pleased for Riri though I would rather she gets No 1 next week though.
It will be an interesting battle. I agree that Maroonina will do around 70K for the week - don't think Rihanna will manage as much as 30K today though. Don't forget that Wednesday is the poorest day of the week for downloads so even if she does three times as many as MLJ today that might only be 20-25k. And will she sell anything like that many on Thursday, Friday and Saturday? Will she tail off slightly on Saturday with the weekend effect?

For me MLJ is still the favourite.

THIS. Wednesday is the lowest of the sales days of the week (along with Thursday) therefore Rihanna is up against it and need a 3x MLJ lead all week AFAIC.

I genuinely don't get the love for the Rihanna track. I usually love her uptempos but this seems to be disjointed and incredibly boring.

DITD isn't really a hidden gem since it spent 6 months in the top 1000, got released as a single in some countries, got played on Radio 1 every week for a couple of months, is STILL on the playlists of some US radio stations, and everybody talks about it all the time. So I think it's a very well-known song.

It's a bit like "Dangerous"

Dangerous was a song MJ performed on tours and live appearances throughout the 90s, even at the VMA's in 1995, four years after the album release. It wasn't single and people really regard it as one of his finest songs of the 90s.
