Matt Cardle is #13 on Radio, so it hasnt been terrible. Still only C-List on Radio1 though, its just a weak song, doesnt help the video is poor and the song is very non-current and not unique or 'wow' enough to stand out and do well.

 

I still hope he does well though, X Factor is going to shoot him up, cant predict where to though could be anywhere in top 5..

I wouldn't be interested if Matt were to record something 'current'.

I feel really sorry for Matt. The A&R at Syco is horrendous. Even Leona Lewis' leaked material was better than some of her album tracks. Joe and Shayne were given absolute duds last year, Matt's music is bland so far and Alexandra, while having some great pop songs, could have had less cheesy material.

 

This is why XF winners should be on joint deals. Although I think Matt is on a joint deal with Columbia - but since when was that a leading UK label?

I'm starting to genuinely worry Maroon 5 are going to be #1 this week as well. YAY, another week of this shit. I really hope something comes along soon that properly stops Maroon 5 from challenging.

 

M5 are still some distance behind Rihanna at the moment (~82.7 and ~2.6). I hope she starts to pull away again soon.

It be funny if Maroon 5 gets to #1 next week when it was least expected :D Some how I don't see it with Matt Cardle surging ahead after his performance, mind you saying that Ambitions for Joe did not get there.

It is a shame. The performance of this single could really affect sales of the album. It's like they want Matt to fail.

THIS really. Matt is a talented artist and a great songwriter, I have the Seven Summers album, but Take That reject ballads are not the way to a #1 or musical credibility.

I think some people believe if Gary writes the song it has to be a hit, but that really isnt the case in the slightest. I do really like Gary, and he has written some great tracks, but the ones he gives away are quite weak from what i've seen.

LPB has updated and Maroon 5 have very marginally fallen back again (from 82.7 to 82.4). I do hope they continue that way.

Matt performing right now. He's so great live, what a pity this song was chosen to lead with. Never know could fly to #1 after..still not good enough song.

a very good performance by matt. i will be really annoyed if in a couple of years one direction are still going and matt is washed up. so i hope he surges up very quickly now

I know I'm in a minority group of people who like 'Run For Your Life'. Yes, it's not the best song I've heard this year but it's certainly nowhere near the worst either. Matt Cardle really impressed me last year with a number of strong performances during the live finals. He's easily the best male winner The X Factor has produced.
