April 29, 201213 yr Definitely the right choices tonight. Sam wasn't the weakest of Tom's group last night (second worst, ahead of Adam I'd say), but Adam has more potential I think, last night was just poor. And, Sophie was definitely weakest of Will's last night - GOOD CHOICES.
April 29, 201213 yr Lana isn't an artist to see live then, she wasn't awful but it wasn't fine by any means. :( Sam going is good, I suppose, and Sophie wasn't at her best last night. I'm just still ecstatic we get to hear another week of Frances! :D
April 29, 201213 yr Author I didn't mind Sophie but then she WAS the weakest of Will's last night, so I'm not fussed. I'm just fuming Joelle was even bottom 2, but I absolutely knew it was coming once Frances went through (which I was quite glad of, she was weaker than Joelle but still my 2nd fave of team Will last night). Overrated Jaz sails through though... Anyway, good results, I really didn't like Sam and I didn't care a huge amount for Sophie to be honest.
April 29, 201213 yr Even though I'd accidentally seen the spoilers, I'm still gutted that Sophie's left! Joelle was a shock to see in the bottom two though, but I really couldn't call it over who I thought would be there. Sam is a wonderful choice to leave the competition, thank god Tom didn't chose him again just because he's a fan of his. Lana Del Rey was just BIZARRE. I thought she was miming at first, but then she just started warbling or whatever. And now I understand why everyone says she's awkward - literally no stage presence; not even Holly wanted to go near her!
April 29, 201213 yr I like her music, but Lana Del Rey is just awful live. Why do her management send her to do live performances ? Especially on a show called The Voice I preferred Sophie to Joelle, but Joelle probably had the better performance yesterday. Couldn't care less about Sam or Matt and Sueleen
April 29, 201213 yr Right, I couldn’t be arsed to watch the whole thing, so I just watched the performances straight from Youtube: Joelle Moses – I found this to generally be quite average, good voice, but it didn’t really go anywhere Sam Buttery – I think he’s a little out of his depth at this stage, but he is quite entertaining Frances Wood– Now I like her :D, she has a very distinctive voice and really made it her own! Adam Isaac – I don’t think this was as bad as everyone was saying, and I liked the song choice, but he had some bad vocals at times. Jaz Ellington – That was very good, clichéd song choice, but he still sung it great. Leanna Mitchell – Hmm, I was a bit underwhelmed for the most part, it seemed quite cabaret, fantastic voice though. Sophie Griffin – Sorry, but I really didn’t like this in the slightest. Her voice is nowhere near strong enough for that song and there was no power, emotion or any depth to it, my least favourite by far. Matt & Sueleen – I thought this was OK, but he is so much better than she is, and its clear when they’re singing apart. Tyler James – I’ve never thought much of him, but this was an amazing song choice, I thought this was excellent, his falsetto was spot on, the best of the night Ruth Brown – This was good, but I was expecting a bit better? It was great until the last few seconds where she started over singing it. I dunno, I guess her style is not my sort of thing. will be back with my feedback on the results shortly :P
April 29, 201213 yr I like her music, but Lana Del Rey is just awful live. Why do her management send her to do live performances ? Especially on a show called The Voice This made me laugh. Having seen several live performances of Lana Del Rey on YouTube, I'm almost convinced she sings this way on purpose. It's like she's forcing herself to sound low pitched, then high pitched. The studio recordings on her album are sublime - it's just a shame Lana doesn't mime more often. :(
April 29, 201213 yr Anyways, looks like the spoilers were right after all but I avoided looking at them so that the results would be more interesting to watch. Glad that Sam went. There's just something incredibly OTT about him - his inability to stop talking really grated on me. :( Not too shocked to see the "Hippy Shake Duo" bottom 2. I'm sure they'll be goners in a fortnight. As for Sophie, she really was the weakest of the female singers last night. 'Titanium' is a song that only Sia can pull off. I've even seen Emeli Sandé perform this on YouTube and even she didn't quite do it justice. As for Joelle being bottom 2, I'll put this down to her performing first. That said, I think out of the remainder of Will's team I'd predict Francis is more likely to leave next rather than Joelle.
April 29, 201213 yr David Guetta performed Titanium on Graham Norton a few weeks ago with a different vocalist who put in a decent performance. However, Sia's vocals are so good on the song that it's a brave step to try and equal it. Sophie's choice (spot the film reference) just didn't work out.
April 29, 201213 yr Completely the right choices there - Sam wasn't awful but he was out of his depth and although Sophie suffered from the wrong choice of song, she was still by far the weakest of the night. Joelle bottom 2 doesn't surprise me, she was really average. Lana Del Rey sounded like a mutating alien :drama: it was shockingly awful particularly for a signed artist Overall, I thought it was good, but its essentially X Factor/Pop Idol all over again which is why I didn't bother watching the whole show. I know its quite hard to take it anywhere else, but its still a shame :( Edited April 29, 201213 yr by C.W
April 29, 201213 yr I liked it better than X Factor purely because it's less gimmicky and does genuinely feel it's about the talent, no stupid theatrics or sob stories. Gutted about Sophie leaving but she was the weakest out of team Will.i.am. It should've been just two of team Tom Jones going, nearly all of them are terrible!
April 30, 201213 yr I'm glad one leaves from each team instead of two from any. Makes it less of a cock fight between the judges with all the unnecessary fake drama and focuses it on the contestants. That said on the US show they had 6 each and eliminated 2 per team each week so it got down to the last 8 really quickly. They should've lost 2 from each team at this stage... there's still some performers who are clearly deadwood. No way was Sophie worse than Frances though.
April 30, 201213 yr OH GOD at Lana i didnt think she would be that bad but UGH! I agree - she was more pitchy than Sophie who got the boot Apart from Ruth - All Tom's team are terrible Edited April 30, 201213 yr by euro music

I liked it better than X Factor because NO childish DERMOT O'DREARY - the presentation was much more professional. I don't like the battles round though - there was however 1 sob story - that of Toni Warne & the stupid theatrics of Sam Buttery Edited April 30, 201213 yr by euro music

April 30, 201213 yr I love The Voice, but I found the results show really boring - there was no particularly feeling of excitement or tension, and it all felt over too quick with little happening.
April 30, 201213 yr Ruth is technically good but I'm not really a fan of her style of singing tbh. I'm glad I'm not the only person who thinks this! She was definitely one of if not the best singer technically on Saturday but I just find her style offputting, especially when she makes that shrieking noise when she goes really high pitched. As for the result, Sam and Sophie are no big losses - Adam going through is annoying but then his performance on Saturday was far worse than his audition and battle so hopefully he has potential to be better in future live shows.
