Katy's performance was stunning, showed that without the glam and shiz that she is actually a decent vocalist.

Very clever Katy, a performance like that was perfect for X Factor, especially as she's known as not a great singer, she showed she can sing tonight, quite an emotional performance from her I felt :o which is definitely shocking!

California Gurls is platinum. (#1)

Teenage Dream is gold. (#2)

Firework is platinum (#3)

E.T is nearly gold (#3)

Last Friday Night is nearly gold (#9)

The album is double platinum (#1)

 

And now another top 40 single on the horizon? :o With no re-release!

 

EDIT - I'll expect Prof. Green to be #1 next week with the X-Factor performance. I'm assuming Bruno is performing 'Marry You' so that might go top ten, and Kelly will probably go top five as well (if she doesn't already get there).

 

Still praying for a Saturdays performance.....:(

She has been amazingly lucky this era to have a flawless album (there is only one track I don't care for), armed with all the right performances, videos, guest rappers etc. The key is to maintain her hit ratio for the next record though.

 

I hope she can get a 6th top 10 :D

 

P.S She wasn't miming. The performance was identical to her singing on tour and you could hear at certain intervals from her breathing and back up vocalists that it wasn't.

 

 

 

Oh and Bruno Mars may perform his song from the new Twilight movie as that is due out end of the month or some such.

I personally don't think this week will be The One that Got Away's peak anyway. And it's nice that (like with Firework), we're getting a Katy Perry song popular in the UK before the majority of the rest of the world (it's only charting in Australia and New Zealand atm I think, which seem to get EVERY song like 3 months early for some reason).

Glad 'Got 2 Luv U' is now on the move and up to #57. Still quite sure it will go top 20 this week in the end up, it would probably be selling more if it wasn't spelt so stupidly - people will have probably heard the DJ say the name of the song and could be searching for 'Got To Love You'.

Lightning #2 i think they'll make #1, then slip soon after, mid-week maybe.

True. You know what I never understood, how there's some artists who do lip-sync most of their live performances, and then you get people claiming they're terrible live singers. Surely if they never sing live, you don't know how good they are at singing live? :lol:

 

I mean, after a lot of X Factor performances, you read people's comments on them, and half the people are like "lol. She's miming again. Shameful", and then the other half are like "Wow. She's a DREADFUL live singer". I never, ever got that. It's contradictory. She's either singing live, or she isn't. :lol:
