Oh come on, #4 is not flopping? It may not be #1 but its still pretty good. It was just a very bad single choice, his album sounds 1000x times better than the lead.

Although no4 is not a flop, it will be in the eyes of people who are just waiting to put him down.

#4 is better than I thought it'd do actually, so I am content :D

His B-sides are amazing too though  especially Lost & Found.

True. But you have to bear in mind that the performers on X Factor need to, firstly, be really big stars to draw in viewers (so this rules out the likes of Jason Derulo, The Script, The Saturdays, Plan B, Ellie Goulding, etc.),

How is Pixie Lott or The Wanted or even Nicole Scherzinger bigger stars than Plan B, Ellie Goulding or The Script? All of those have achieved achied more success internationally (Nicole solo career never went anywhere) and higher domestic sales.

Stereo Hearts at 12, I wouldn't be surprised if it was #1 on iTunes by the end of the week.

And #2 in the official charts for the next 6 weeks ^_^

Labrinth is a Syco act I think he has every chance of performing on X-factor, they have played Let the Sun Shine every week. There are acts this year that are really good R&B/rap acts so why not.

I hope GCH get to No 1 but I doubt anyone will shift Riri. I hope Matt at least does better than Ambitions.

How is Pixie Lott or The Wanted or even Nicole Scherzinger bigger stars than Plan B, Ellie Goulding or The Script? All of those have achieved achied more success internationally (Nicole solo career never went anywhere) and higher domestic sales.

Nicole and Pixie were guest judges though, so they're associated with the show. Tulisa and Diana Vickers aren't big either, but like Nicole, Pixie, Katy, etc. they have ties to the show.

And Nicole IS bigger, because of the Pussycat Dolls. Doesn't really matter about her solo career, to everybody she's the one that sang Beep, Don't Cha, Jai Ho and Stickwitu, so she's pretty big.

The Wanted's boss is a work associate to Louis Walsh. Same reason why the Black Eyed Peas keep getting to perform even though they're not Heart FM friendly, because will.i.am works with Cheryl. Ellie Goulding, etc.'s boss doesn't work with anybody from X Factor, as far as I know.

I'm sure they'd like to get Rihanna and Christina again, since they'd draw more media attention after what happened last year.

In the X Factor, it's all about the money, the viewers, the connections, etc. So Plan B, Ellie, etc. aren't performing because they won't draw in the viewers, and they're not connected to the show enough.

Although no4 is not a flop, it will be in the eyes of people who are just waiting to put him down.

Oh absolutely check out Digital Spy X Factor Forum, "LIMPING in at no 4, R.I.P Matt Cardle's career."

He is under performing by X Factor's massively high standards though and that is all the ammunition needed for his many, many detractors.

Maroon 5 down to 81.0 :D (80.97, but I always round it to one decimal place :P)

Matt Cardle is only on 35.7 and is barely half of Christina's bar so he's probably unlikely to progress beyond #4 unfortunately. Hopefully he can increase a bit more. I do like the song on first listen so I'll download it and help him out a bit... I do hope the rest of the album is much better as most people seem to think it is from the clips.

It seems like Christina could get a new peak after all - or at least match her old one, depending on how fast GCH climb when they break the top 10 (which I'm sure they will tomorrow) :o

hope matt gets a top 5 single here

I hope Matt can get to #1. I'm not a fan of his music but he seems like a humble guy with creativity.

Even if this single doesn't top the charts, I think his album is a definite #1. He's more of an album seller, just like Leona.

I reckon Matt is going to be more of an album-seller, I reckon his album sales will be huge!

We cant really say he's more of an album seller untill we actually see he is an album seller..

I think he will be more of an album seller, especially with his style and the fanbase i believe he'll attract, but its a prediction for now.

Leona has set the standards so high for everyone who ever comes from X Factor now

Cee-Lo isnt really bothered with the new single, the label must know it will go nowhere, they more interested in selling albums, and its definitely helped, already #5 on iTunes.

Gym Class Heroes up to #11, the top 10 effect will shoot it to at least #3 i'd say. Steady climber.

Superbass still climbing  #24, Fly at #19.

Rolling in the Deep  #39

Oh dear..

Radioactive  #40

Shake It Out  #43

dont understand why people say you flop if you dont get #1?

Of the 7 Winners, only 2 have ever gone to #1 on their second single, and they both happen to be women.

I hope Matt can get to #1. I'm not a fan of his music but he seems like a humble guy with creativity.

Even if this single doesn't top the charts, I think his album is a definite #1. He's more of an album seller, just like Leona.

I wouldn't rule out... Noel Gallagher stopping Matt from going to #1 in the album.

Nicole and Pixie were guest judges though, so they're associated with the show. Tulisa and Diana Vickers aren't big either, but like Nicole, Pixie, Katy, etc. they have ties to the show.

I'm aware of all that, I was just pointing out your "Ellie/The Script etc aren't big enough" theory is flawed. The Wanted may be associated to Louis Walsh but this has nothing to do with why they're on the show 2 years in a row, it has much more to do with the fact they're from the same company as Heart/Capital FM and TXF is desperate to get their acts on their stations. And about BEP, I'm pretty sure they would be booked without the Cheryl association, they are mainstream enough and I'm pretty sure a few of their songs has been played by Heart FM (and at this point in their career, they are probably more popular with middle aged people -- since I Gotta Feeling/Where is the Love is pretty much a staple in any wedding party and such -- than with young people who probably think they're waaaay over their peak).

But yeah, I agree with most of what you're saying and I'm aware of the reasons Nicole/Pixie were booked.
