AMAZING movie, kept me hooked from start to finish. Does a great job in sticking to the comic origins of how the Avengers formed,

obviously there were slight tweeks, but I was very happy with it. The humour throughout was really well done too, it wasn't too randomly plonked in

and didn't ruin the build up of the film.

Captain Sexpack was lush as ever. Cobie Smulders did a great job as Maria Hill and I am glad she got some decent screen time.

The post credit scene....fangasmic :w00t:

My Mother, who knows nothing about the comics, loved it too. I worried she'd fail to understand what was going on, but she was really into to, might

have been down to Thor, but who knows?

Good albeit the strcuture of the film was sort of static (tense moment / action moment / joke / repeat). But really enjoyable. My boyfriend is a huge, huge Marvel fan and was freaking out the entire time (especially at the post-credits scene), so that was fun. idk much about Marvel

I'm not a huge superhero movie fan (except Batman) but I'm going to see this on Monday. I have seen Thor and I watched Iron Man yesterday (Thor was dull but Iron Man was fun). Might try to watch IM2 or Captai America between but unlikely to have time for The Incredible Hulk.

My point being is there anything I NEED to know from those films that I won't.

I haven't seen either of the Iron Man films or the Hulk film and still followed everything ok. There is a couple of references to Captain America being frozen for a while/found by Tony Stark but nothing that'll really throw you.

I hadn't seen Captain America, Hulk, Thor, Iron Man 1 or 2. And everything made perfect sense :)

Hasn't really inspired me to watch any of these previous films, although Avengers was indeed amazing.

Holy shit. The Avengers just earned $200 million in its opening weekend in the states, so $31 million more than Harry Potter. Totally smashed the record. It's now sitting at $650 million worldwide after just over a week!! Amazing.

Yep! Truly brilliant stuff. I always knew it'd be a monster of a hit, but I didn't realise it'd be quite this big! It's quite something!

Thats outstanding!

So, the actual total is in and it's $207 million. Amazing. Even taking into account the higher prices for 3D showings, the film is still the fastest grossing ever. Taking away the 3D premium it would still have had a gross of over $170 million.

I saw this over the weekend and I really enjoyed it. There were quite a few references to things that I only had a rough idea about through researching the Marvel universe before seeing it. Had I seen the other films I think I would've properly geeked out over it all, but it didn't retract from the film much and was still easy to follow.

The word 'epic' is overused but this is one of those films that fits the word perfectly and lived up to my expectations and all of the hype. I particularly loved the Hulk throughout and in particular THAT scene with Loki which provoked the biggest laugh of the entire film. I will most definitely be seeing the rest of the films now.

I'm hopefully going to see this for a 2nd time at the weekend. So glad its doing amazingly at the box office!

ayee

Ended up seeing this because of how big it's becoming but I just couldn't get into it. Some really funny moments but I'm not really into superhero movies apart from Batman so a load of it was lost on me. And can the Hulk can basically withstand anything then? I mean he couldn't even kill himself.

The Hulk seems pretty indestructible. That's the way it across in the film anyway. "If I turn into the Hulk, not even you lot can stop me." I can't imagine what a film solely focusing on the Hulk would be like (I've not seen either of the recent ones.)
just seen this film. Quite funny overall. like the bit when hulks told to smash and when he smashes loki around. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

I've now seen it twice and it stood up insanely well to a repeat viewing. (Once in 3D and once in 2D, the 2D after seeing all the proceeding films.) Will be impossible to beat as film of the year I think. Easily one of my ten favourite films of all time!

Also, Joss Whedon needs Sainthood/Knighting etc ASAP.

Saw this for the THIRD time yesterday.

It was still insanely f***ing wicked, for a film I only saw within that week I didn't get bored once, it's just so f***ing good.

Seriously I would marry Joss Whedon just based on how good he made this film.

Saw this for my birthday.

I did like it - the beginning was a little meh.. The middle was the best part.. The ending was very predictable.

I WANT THOR INSIDE OF ME :heehee:

Good story to save the world from the aliens and all the hero's from past came to save the innocent people. Hul character is good and humorous

it was o.k.

there was definitely a very visible formula behind how the film was structured. tense moment - action shot - joke - repeat
