February 4, 201213 yr Electro-pop never does well in any country's national final though :( I'm gutted for her but didn't particularly expect her to go through either. I'm incredibly worried on your behalf now, you could end up with your worst entry in decades! Go Plumbo go! I saw some woman with a country type hat rooting for that old hag, and I literally wanted to throw something at her for being oblivious to Lise Karlsnes' brilliance. She has no idea how TERRIBLE this actually is. It's that kind of ignorant people who ruins true quality music to qualify and Norway from ever regaining face if something like that country thing wins. I am so gutted right now. I don't think I've even been this gutted about a result before. Really. She NEEDS to be our wild card now. She just.. HAVE TO! If not.. then hopefully Tooji will win it. February 5, 201213 yr The wildcard will be decided by 50% jury vote and 50% public vote. I'd like to think that Sailors would win both votes and therefore appear in the final. Well actually I'd prefer Minnie-Oh there but I don't see her winning either. Please don't let it be the Harvard band or something equally crap! As for the winner, I wonder if there's a mildly slim chance that Tooji can massively grow on everybody in the next week? Stay is a potential Eurovision top three, seriously Norway - pick Tooji! Plumbo will DNQ, I have this horrible feeling though that the juries would really take to Bobby Bare and that it would reach the final and do ok once there...
February 5, 201213 yr I hope Tooji can grow and win, it's the only one aside from Sailors that I've bothered to download.
February 5, 201213 yr Tooji and Nora Foss al-Jabri are the only two I remotely like, I love them both! Neither have a chance though tbh :( I can see it easily being Plumbo, Somewhere Beautiful winning it's semi gives me some hope but Things Change winning and most of all SAILORS not even getting to the final really worries me, I just hope they choose Stay! Much as I love Somewhere Beautiful, it would DNQ or 'do a Nadine Beiler' and stall in the lower few of the final :(
February 5, 201213 yr Things always change in the MGP final. I am hopeful of that. I think people vote with their hearts mostly in the semi finals, and when it comes to the final they might think more properly about what could actually work in Eurovision. Also, some people only watch the final and not the semi finals, actually. It always attract the most people. So things could change purely based on that. Besides, the jury is supposed to hinder obvious failures from winning, aren't they? Looking back in 2011, Åste & Rikke came first in their semi final, and didn't do anything in the final. Babel Fish as well. Also in 2010 Yes man came fourth in the final after qualifying from Siste sjansen. In light of this I can see Bobby Bare failing, and if Lise Karlsnes is the wildcard, she could be that grower which does quite well in the final. I hope I'm right :drama:
February 5, 201213 yr Plus last year 3rd and 4th places were both Siste Sjansen's products. And Blacksheeps finished 2nd overall! I haven't given up on Tooji yet. He managed to came 2nd after performing first in the heats after all.

February 5, 201213 yr Tooji and Tommy Fredvang is my favorites to win :) gutted for Lise Karlsnes, hopefully she is the wildcard!
February 5, 201213 yr Is iTunes that much of an indicator when it comes to MGP? Tooji does appear to be the second highest after Plumbo.
February 5, 201213 yr Surprised Tooji isn't more instantly popular in Norway actually, I thought he'd be an instantly lusted after new pin-up a la Rybak/Didrik and was going to walk this semi! The fact that his song is amazing further raised my expectations. Perhaps old men are more likely to watch the semis and the general public stick to the final? Bobby Bare and Plumbo walking their semis suggests this at least
February 5, 201213 yr I'm not suprised Bobby Bare came first... I think Norway and Sweden have the biggest country fans in the world, beside USA :P 3 out of 5 people in my closest family have been to a country festival  me and my big brother is the only one who havn't been to one, even my sister have
February 5, 201213 yr Is iTunes that much of an indicator when it comes to MGP? Tooji does appear to be the second highest after Plumbo. I'm not sure, tbh. Plumbo has been the highest one on iTunes out of everyone this year, but that probably just proves that the people who doesn't really pay that much attention to MGP in general buys that song, and that song only - because regular fans usually buys the whole CD and track counts are evened out. Children voting in the semi final/final also doesn't normally pay for music online as well (I don't think they can anyway since they don't have credit cards etc.) which could explain why someone like Malin (or any other entry appealing mostly to the youngest target audience) for instance gets to third place and does nothing on Itunes. It's quite difficult to tell either way, most people in Norway doesn't pay for music as products, more as most norwegians using music streaming services like Spotify or Wimp (Which I've never understood, tbh). Either way it's interesting to see things from different sources; because there are only so many ways to find out what most people actually likes the most! I'm not suprised Bobby Bare came first... I think Norway and Sweden have the biggest country fans in the world, beside USA :P I've noticed this as well, which is troubling. But surely the country fans has a sense of reason (and intelligence) to see that Bobby Bare will fail in ESC? They can't be THAT selfish! :drama: Person voting for Bobby Bæsj: "I always listen to country, and nothing else. I love country music. Oh, it's MGP. I NEVER watch that, but I've heard THE Bobby Bare has entered a song and I MUST support him because I love him very much and I love country music. *votes* There! I've done the right thing now... I hope he wins..." Edited February 5, 201213 yr by Freeze
February 5, 201213 yr I'm like the biggest country fan ever but Things Change is abysmal :manson: I bet you're right though Freeze, people could well be doing that :(
February 6, 201213 yr Poor BRAVE Lise Karlsnes! :drama: She BETTER be the wildcard! (Well, like Rich, I'd slightly prefer Minnie-Oh, but she won't be! :() From the very LQ recording I saw of Lise's performance it looked pretty great! (Especially vocally!) Listening to the Soundcloud link of her album and I'm really liking it so far! Has anyone managed to at least rip it from there? (If they do, throw a link my way please :P)
