Well I don't like Laurel and Marlon as a couple (never been a fan of Marlon) but she's bound to get back with Ashley at some point.

Apart from that, it's enjoyable right now!

I'm watching right now. Really enjoying this storyline TBH, I can't say I like Maurel either but the actual storyline is quite interesting, I've found.

I've been crushing on Carl for years. He's way too hot for Chas.

Don't be ashamed Chris, Carl is bloody HOT!

For Emmerdale's 40th anniversary there are going to be 2 weddings (Katie & Chas), 2 births (one to Debbie & one to Jenny) and 1 death

Who's going to die? Any ideas

Live episode tonight folks! I've got a good idea of who will be the shock death but I hope I'm wrong and they throw a major surprise in.

My money is on

Jimmy. Carl & Cameron are too obvious, I can't see them killing off one of their leading characters in Cain, and the clues that have been dished out don't fit Turner ("he had it coming") or Chas ("he").

I'm reckoning on Carl returning to his former hobby of accidentally killing people in fights. That'll be the third family member he has directly or indirectly led to their death.

So it was Carl after all! I'm so disappointed. It was a decent episode (nothing spectacular like the EE live though) but there weren't enough twists and turns. When Carl went down in part three I was sure he would survive and someone else would be murdered. They've lost their strongest male character as well. But it was relatively thrilling so job done I guess.

It was a bit dull overall I thought, it was well acted for the most part but it didn't seem to particularly get going until the scene with Chas and Carl when they were about to have sex and she ended up hitting him.

They've lost their sexiest character and probably their best actor to be honest, but at least it wasn't an anti climax death.

I haven't watched Emmerdale in years but I know the characters roughly. Can somebody summarise what happened in the live ep? If it's tantalising enough I may just watch it.
I'm a bit pissed off that they turned him into a would-be rapist. It's all a bit "let's try and make a villain out of somebody most of the audience love (to hate) to justify his death".
I've never watched Emmerdale but my mum decided that we were going to watch the live episode... It was pretty difficult to know who was who etcetera, but apart from the two births (which would never be the most well-acted things in the world) and the appalling Yorkshire accents (I mean how many Geordie/Mackems is a realistic amount to say are from Yorkshire?!), it was okay. The scenes with the bride that fled and the man that was murdered were a bit uncomfortable to watch (and he did move a few times once "dead"). I can't say I'd want to go back and watch another episode, but I did enjoy it more than the average episode of Coronation Street that I'm made to sit through most of the time

Katie and Declan plus Chas and Dan got married, the former was happy enough but the latter couple are basically f***ed over already  Gennie and Debbie both gave birth. The best scenes were Chas and Carl, he knows about her having an affair and was still holding it over her, she pretended to still be in love with him so she could get him to not say anything to Debbie about it (the affair is with her current partner Cameron), but she couldn't keep it up, hit him and fled. Carl was led there trying to get up and Cameron found him and taunted him for a while, Carl managed to get up but Cameron ended up hitting him from behind with a brick.

There's an awful Laurel/Marlon scene where both are drunk though

Ah yes probably the most integral part of what's going to happen next as well  Flop summariser!
The live episode was good and enjoyable in parts but i found the storylines just lacked something but i cant put my finger on it, i know when Debbie and Cain find out sparks will really fly but as it stands now its all been lacking a certain amount of kick. Outside the story telling, big congrats to all the cast and crew as they all gave great performances.
