Oh dear 50/1

It's ok because my next entry in January would be a complete English song and if that fails I am clueless what to send next :o

So did I!

Announcing myself as the winner for the second month in a row was a bit of a bizarre anti-climax, I genuinely thought it would come lower top ten as I wasn't sure whether anyone would appreciate it as much as I do. I know it's not an album standout for most people but it is for me (I do enjoy a good heart wrenching vocals and a strong melody!) so I was glad when she picked it as a single later on :D I also thought that You'll Never Love Me and Sadness Is A Blessing would tread on each others toes quite a bit so was most surprised when they ended up as the top two!

They are both so different though. You'll Never Love Me is a proper moment and probably the best thing Tyron has sent and that Lykke Li thing was vile. I'd rather listen to Andreas.

I'm certainly not. :D

Both songs are almost equally amazing so it doesn't matter in the end.

The best thing I've ever sent and it was only worthy of an 8?!

Anyway, on the odds, how on EARTH is Natalie Ferrol - Hunting Season faring so badly in pretty much everyone's odds? :o I sense a massive dark horse!

BaNG didn't vote did they? The horse might be bolting right out of the contest this evening :o

Although they do seem to quite often not vote in the semis but score highly enough to go through to the final regardless  I'd have had Hunting Season down as a borderline qualifier though personally so I'm not sure if it will survive the deduction...

Well Casey hasn't voted so his entry is going to get a 33% deduction. Also looking at personal charts might suggest it's not as popular as you may think.

I'm not sure if it's just "neighbourly voting strategies" going on but I noticed the likes of GD, Ghosty and Tom all charting the exact same BJSC tracks. No sign of Kyla La Grange in any of them!!! :drama: I'd be AGOG if that Disney-esque '1000 Ships' (or whatever it's called) ends up winning this. :o

I can assure you that I don't engage in anything like that, I vote for what I like the most and that's all there is to it! And I certainly wouldn't be charting something that I didn't enjoy  Perhaps it's just that the personal charts you were looking at reflect three people with incredibly similar music taste! And I charted Kyla La Grange and Young London months ago, there's no reason for them to return to my chart but I still like them! Plus there are still 35 other participants that like different things or perhaps don't even have a personal chart/don't chart BJSC entries making it impossible to come to any conclusion what will do well based on what a few people are liking.

1000 Ships is excellent, for me it's the lovechild of Owl City and Regina Spektor, great production, an infectious melody and stands out from the pack. Perhaps it won't be a winner but it's a lot more than a twee novelty song imo.

Ditto. I only vote for what I like, it's purely a coincidence if other people also like what I like and chart them, and similar to Rich, there are a number of entries this time round (including my own) that have been and gone from my chart a while ago, so my chart isn't an especially accurate gage of how I'm going to vote!

I'm working out the average odds ready for the semis, so watch this space!

Don't count Pavel's.

No, we're all plotting against you.

Hmm. :D Well, I didn't dislike it when I first listened to it but it didn't make think "wow, this is great". I'm sure once it gets into the final (which it clearly will) I'll have more reason to have another listen. I've obviously been listening more to the SF1 tracks. Perhaps my opinions will change come this time next week. :o

I can understand gooddelta liking 1000 Ships but I'm genuinely surprised that it appeals to Ghosty and Tom Kay. It probably stands an extremely good chance of winning this in that case as there are many more members I'd imagine liking it ahead of those two.

U haven't said whether or not it does to me, but I do think it has a fairly good chance of doing well.

As for my chart I just chart stuff that I like, and normally that is current (released in the last year). I rarely chart everything I vote for. Also I only chart songs from my semi during the semi week, and SF2 enter during the final. Though I did make an exception this week for a song that doesn't have a cat in hell's chance of qualifying but is incredibly beautiful...

Here we go then. I have averaged out the 7 sets of odds given (and rounded to the nearest whole number) and I have split them into the 2 semi finals, so we can see who the odds predict to qualify. Remember the odds are to win the final and not each semi.
