November 20, 201114 yr Price Tag #77, Party Rock Anthem #78, Jessie J holds onto YTD #2 for at least another week :D
November 20, 201114 yr I find it amusing that Sinatra's previous collection was called "Nothing But the Best" and now they released "Best of the Best" HE'S THE BEST, WE GET IT!
November 20, 201114 yr Does anyone know what number Keep Holding On is this week? There should be a new peak for the song since it was sung on Children In Need.
November 20, 201114 yr It's not as easy to manipulate the charts with X Factor performances is it!! I'm sort of glad because i think it was getting very easy last year. The Wanted didn't get to No.2 with Lightening because they didn't deserve to with that song from many other pop acts would not even be Top 10. JLS No.2 album, at last - there albums aren't as good as some think. One Direction No.3 thats accurate for that song. No way No.1 worthy. and Rhianna talk about over-rated, number 1 again, it's alright nothing mega. Cher's album dropping 8 places! and The wanted WOW 9! it's not that easy being a pop act these days (unless you're Olly Murs ha ha). Feel abit sorry for The Saturdays i was certain that would become their number 1 single. Not expecting The Saturdays on the Radar album to do well next week, no.80 on amazon!!? a shame really. Am also expecting JLS album not sell as much as in the past. There 3rd single choice is very poor much perfer 'Teach Me How To Dance'' than ''Do you Feel what i feel''. On a positive go Mr Will Young, rising to 26. Alot of pop injustice's these days. Edited November 20, 201114 yr by sajjadali
November 20, 201114 yr First non Adele (directly as the Glee songs are covers) top 40 this year in the singles? :o
November 20, 201114 yr First non Adele (directly as the Glee songs are covers) top 40 this year in the singles? :o Yes. Infact, it must be the first Adele-less week since Make You Feel My Love re-entered the top 10 last year! Example and Jason Derulo have finally debuted in the top 75. They'll be climbing into the top 40 soon.
November 20, 201114 yr Does anyone have access to outside of the top 100? I'm wondering what number Keep Holding On is at?
November 20, 201114 yr So disapointed Snow Patrol didnt even up top 2 after been number for half of the midweeks but im happier Buble took number 1 over JLS, Westlife i thought would have scrapped top 30 in the singles and great to see maroon 5 still top 10 and climbing. November 20, 201114 yr Is this the first Christmas album by a solo artist to make number 1??? I see Mariah Carey's all i want for christmas is the first of the oldies to make atop 100 return at #100 this week. Edited November 20, 201114 yr by Aphrodite
November 20, 201114 yr Author RAMBLY COMMENTS WARNING Mariah Carey is the first 'Christmas classic' to chart in the top 100 - at #100. She was #96 at this stage last year so probably heading for a similar Christmas peak (mid-high 20s, probably about 24 or 25). Not good going for The Pogues though who were #75 at the same point (and #91 on the equivalent of last week) :( Firework and Just The Way You Are both still holding onto the top 100 at 90 and 98 respectively - just five weeks to go for either of them to do what no song did last year and stay top 100 all year. Does anyone know why 'Iron' by Woodkid is #94? It charted just outside the top 100 earlier this year (?) when it was on an ad, I assume it's on an ad again but actually charted this time. Drake back in the top 100 with Headlines again :D Very surprised En Vogue sold enough in a few hours to get to #89, I thought they only barely made the top 40 before midnight (albeit with a second version top 100 and 2 more top 300)! Viva La Vida back in the top 100 once more :dancing: OCC being incredibly bipolar with regards to B-Side, it seems to be a 50/50 chance if your B-Side can chart or not - One Direction's 'Another World' is showing up at #85, but their last B-Side 'Na Na Na' wasn't chart eligible  Absolutely hate the Skream song in the top 75 :puke: Edited November 20, 201114 yr by Bré
November 20, 201114 yr going by digital spy the albums was a close fought battle with bubble taking number 1 with less than 1% MARGIN.
November 20, 201114 yr From OCC: In a tight tussle for the top, Grammy award winning singer/songwriter Michael Buble manages to leapfrog both JLS and Snow Patrol who led him in Wednesday’s Official Chart Update to usher in the festive season with album Christmas climbing from last week’s Number 2 to this week’s Official Albums Number 1. Christmas took the title by a winning margin of less than 1% ahead of JLS’s Jukebox which has to settle for Highest New Entry accolade – see below. JLS take the Highest New Entry title with third studio album Jukebox straight in at Number 2 giving the X Factor 2008 finalists their third Official Albums Top 2. Jukebox follows the multi-platinum releases JLS (Number 1, 2009) and Outta This World (Number 2, 2010) and JLS’s seven Top 10 singles including the five Number 1s; Beat Again (2009), Everybody In Love (2009), Love You More (2010), The Club Is Alive (2010) and She Makes Me Wanna (2011). There are two other new entries in this week’s Official Albums Top 10: Official Chart Update leaders Snow Patrol see their sixth studio album Fallen Empires straight in at Number 3 to give the indie rockers their fifth Top 5 album, including the multi-platinum Number 1 Eyes Open (2006). And Canadian singer/songwriter Drake, who featured on Rihanna’s Number 1 Single What’s My Name (Jan 2011) is straight in at Number 5 with Take Care, the follow-up to his 2010 debut Thank Me Later, while his lead single from the album, also called Take Care ft Rihanna, is a new entry at Number 12 in the Official Singles Chart ============= I wish they didn't bother, there are no sales info
November 20, 201114 yr Aphrodite - I remember reading that Susan Boyle's second album was the first Christmas album to top the artist album charts. Here's an excerpt from Alan Jones's Chart Commentary. Although first week sales of 102,993 are barely a quarter of the 411,820 sales that earned 49-year-old Boyle’s debut, I Dreamed A Dream, pole position 50 weeks ago, The Gift easily defeated Bon Jovi’s Greatest Hits, which holds at number two on sales of 59,267 copies. Containing covers of Lou Reed’s Perfect Day, Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah and Crowded House’s Don’t Dream It’s Over, The Gift otherwise concentrates on covers of Christmas and New Year favourites. I guess Michael Buble is the first to be a completely Christmas album to top the Christmas album chart.
