I don't even see it as a return. What has 2011 been about if not urban music?

NOT SURE IF SERIOUS.

Why is Gaga suddenly freefalling? She's down to #19

It's strange. Telephone climbed massively after its music video release, and all 4 of her singles also climbed quite a bit after the music video premieres.

So it's strange that Marry the Night isn't. But at the same time, lots of other artists release music videos and climbing gradually over the space of a couple of months. So it doesn't neccessarily mean it's "flopping", if that's what you're worried about. Give it a couple of months imo.

Looks like MTN isn't heading for top 10 :( Ah well, at least it's done better than the awful 'Yoü And I'. It's likely to break her top 10 streak in the USA which she's kept going since Just Dance though (there's still time but it's making VERY slow progress) :(

I wonder if she'll release any more singles? I recall her saying around the time of the album's release that she'd release about 7 singles from it but she's already flagging a bit on just her 2nd post-album single so it remains to be seen if she'll go through with that or just swiftly move onto album 3.

So much for Born This Way being the "album of the year". Didn't Gaga also say it would "change the music industry"?

(not putting Gaga down here, I love some of her work but the hype around the BTW era was insane. I was genuinely excited to hear what she had up her sleeve and remember thinking "omg, maybe this WILL be something interesting" but then the single BTW was released and I was very dissapointed and when the album was released I realised it was nothing but hype. Good pop album, but nowhere near as good as she was making it out to be. The way she talked about it as if it was the greatest album ever produced. Just shows she's nothing more than another pop act.)

'Marry the Night' does deserve far better due to the brilliant video alone!

The same can be said for 'You & I' (although more the song itself than the video).

T-Pain is now #1 with a decent lead even with Olly combined (Olly combined is at 91.9%, Lloyd combined is 89.1%, Flo Rida is at 86.5% and then a big drop to Rihanna in 5th on 69.8% combined).

Ignoring combined versions, Lloyd and Coldplay could both overtake Jessie very shortly - they're on 62.5, 61.4 and 65.4 respectively and I think Jessie is dropping off quite rapidly.

Drake should be back top 10 any second, he's now only 3.2% behind XFF.

Drake  #10

The X Factor finalists are out-wonder if they can still maintain the #1 officially! :o

:yahoo: Amazing for Drake.

I don't think the X Factor Finalists will be #1 officially. Maybe #1 in the midweeks tommorrow, but I think by Friday Olly will dethrone them.

I'm not sure who'll get #1 officially. I think most likely it'll be Olly, but I'd prefer any of Lloyd, Jessie J, T-Pain or Flo Rida to get it. Jessie J would be good, if only because it would be the most weird climb to #1 in recent years (Someone Like You and Gettin' Over You also had strange climbs to #1). T-Pain would be good aswell, just for the lols. Reminds me of The Time from this time last year (both feature heavy autotune, heavy sampling and rapping, which is like a perfect recipe for a song to have a strong LOVE/HATE reaction from the general public ).

:cheer: :cheer: great For Drake to be top 10 on iTunes after T-Pain and Lloyd's new entry's, Who you are being performed on X Factor and Paradise having a sudden surge, He has overtaken the XFF, interesting to see if he can overtake Avicii and get into #9 on iTunes

Can't really see Olly getting #1 tbh, either the XFF's physicals will be enough to keep them on top, or (heaven forbid) T-Pain ends up getting there (even though he's only #11 in the midweeks).

I personally think 5 O'Clock is even worse than The Time! To think this is #1 on iTunes, while Who'd Have Known didn't even reach Top 30 is beyond ridiculous -_-

I would say the same thing, except with the word "even" taken out. I love both songs but nobody does it better than will.i.am when it comes to producing urban auto tuned hits   Great to see T-Pain finally get a UK #1 even if it's only on iTunes :cheer:

At least we can be 100% certain that he'll only have 1 week at #1, thanks to the XF Winner (and that's not something you'll hear me say often)! :w00t:

BTW, on a totally separate issue, when I go to iTunes, I just don't see all those Xmas songs on the 59p list - could that be because I'm still using version 10.2.1.1 rather than 10.5.1?

Not necessarily - if he hangs around at the top he could get back at #1 (or climb there, in the more likely circumstance that he doesn't get there this week) in January when the XF winner and any other Christmas chart stuff dies off. Although Lloyd is probably more likely to hang around near the top for that long than T-Pain, since T-Pain has had far more airplay so is likely to be more frontloaded.

Because it is a poor song. I'm not a Gaga fan but have found myself singing along to, youtubing and dancing to a few of her songs from her 1st album. This album however I cant say the same and for casual listeners like me no amount of 400 minute long hyped videos will change that the songs are just weak.

The chart on sunday between 40-21 should be very festive lol....wonder if theyll last there until xmas week when they get their 3rd boost!!

I think with this album she has not attarced any causal listeners.

Wretch 32 and Professor Green are the only 'Urban' artists I can think of that had big sellers.

I really don't want a return to the mid-00s Urban domination
