Bit funny they didn't realise Little Mix is out a week early, getting the track to #1 this week could damage getting to #1 next week that's if the track gets there first. These campaigns seem to be dead though there isn't any profile, its been done once and now its waning off.

The campaigns are just as sad as the X Factor getting Christmas no.1. I hope it flops on it's arse personally.

They're not trying to get it to #1 this week, it's people doing it too early. On the Facebook page there's a thing saying THE X FACTOR WINNER IS OUT A WEEK EARLY BUT DOWNLOAD IT THEN but some people are just thick.

If this was the CD era and it actually had a single out, I'd expect Cowell's minions to buy a load this week so it was less of a threat next week

Little Mix - Cannonball 1.0000 1.0000

Coldplay - Paradise. 0.4673 0.6915

Leona Lewis- Hurt. 0.2557 0.3772

I can see coldplay getting down to below 20%, this is going 500k plus

The most important thing is that they still increaseing and 66 Coldplay - Charlie Brown.

That's people downloading it a week early. As a comparison, Rage Against The Machine were #16 on Saturday, the day before sales started getting counted for the Christmas #1. Hence why they recharted at #80 that week, Nirvana could do similar. That's not to say "Smells Like Teen Spirit" will do as well, it's just because people are obviously getting their weeks mixed up with Little Mix being out now.

It's not people downloading it early, Smells Like Teen Spirit is an iTunes mainstay. It had two top 1000 entries every day in October, the top one in the top 300 pretty much all the time.

Edit: Looking at Vidcapper's iTunes spreadsheet, its spent 29 days this year outside the top 500, its lowest position #685.

I am actually in love with Little Mix's version of Cannonball. Best winners single since Alexandra Burke - Hallelujah.

Personally although it is not the song i would pick for little mix to do, they have done a damn good job of it. It showcases their voices and has a nice xmas-y feel to it. I think people are seriously underestimating this. It will have huge sales this week and maybe even match the numbers next week as the hype around xmas number 1 will boost sales and the cd will be out for a full week.

I'm going out on a limb and say this will be 2nd only to the burke in total sales for an x factor winners song.

1 Little Mix - Cannonball 1.0000 1.0000

2 Coldplay - Paradise 0.4464 0.4673

3 Leona Lewis - Hurt 0.2442 0.2557

4 Olly Murs - Dance With Me Tonight 0.1759 0.1841

Shayne trounced Alexandra, he did 742k in week one while her and Leona did less than 580k. I think this will probably scrape 400k but hold to 250k next week.

It's a good point actually, it should have really occurred to me that it was such a popular trickle seller

I meant in total sales overall, i thought the burke was the biggest selling x factor winner's single?

She is yeah, she cleared well over 300k in her second week and is on about 1.2 million now. I can't see Little Mix going over a million, they weren't particularly emphatic winners (48% compared to 42% for Marcus) and viewing figures were lower this year than last. Put simply, if Matt Cardle is limping towards 1,000,000 then I can't see them doing better.

I think they will surprise, if there is a big chart battle for 'xmas #1' next week i can see their sales staying strong. if they can clear 400k this week and 350k+ next week they will be on over 750k in 2 weeks.

Next week it has the xmas battle and the CD being out for a whole pre xmas shopping week (sun to sat 24th), this will no doubt give their 2nd week a huge boost. Normally all other X factor winners get a 2nd week sales after the xmas rush and have days of cd sales missing as shops are shut on the 25th and most the 26th, this wont happen for Little Mix until their 3rd week.

looks like Little Mix will be heading for around 400k first week then, it took a lot longer than I expected to get to number 1...Paradise still is over 20% of Leona, hopefully it can go over 100k :D
Wasn't the last time a girl group were number 1 about 3 years ago? Girls Aloud - The Promise?
Approx popularity:

#1 100%

#2 28.5%

#3 14%

#5 13%

#10 7.5%

#20 3.5%

#30 3%

The #30's bar is the one to watch to compare against this time last year - as its sales as a % of a "normal" #1 woudl be relatively stable.

So if the #30 is less than 3% at 4pm today, I think its safe to say Little Mix are selling better than Matt last year.
