December 8, 201114 yr Im glad Rihanna Was added. The Song Is not great but i would like to see it perform well :)
December 8, 201114 yr The snub of Cosmic Love until the dying days of the album's success was bizarre. I think it should have been released as the album's lead single rather than Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up). Was Rabbit Heart the lead single? I thought she has released Kiss with a Fist and Dog Days are Over before that. If I were her people I would have had this schedule Howl- Up tempo song, perfect for remixes, getting a lot of exposure Cosmic Love- to just precede the album, show variety in her music Rabbit Heart Dog Days are Over You Got the Love Between Two Lungs: Heavy in Your Arms
December 8, 201114 yr I think "Forgiveness" would be a decent enough choice if it wasn't at such a critical time of year. The three examples people gave weren't when album sales were at their highest and there was the most to potentially gain from releasing "Hush Little Baby". Rewind his entire release history three months, so that he's now releasing "Forgiveness" in September, and it would make decent enough sense. With "Cosmic Love" I've never really got the hype for it. Seeing as it went to #3 in Ireland though (was there even much promotion for it there?) there was obviously demand so no matter how much I prefer "Drumming Song" releasing "Cosmic Love" as the first post-album single might have made more sense. I think the "Ceremonials" campaign has been far more critical though because her sales are struggling somewhat, I think it was mad not to do "No Light, No Light" on X Factor. Any song that's already in the public consciousness will sell better after being performed whereas a lesser known one will do more to help the album. So she might have had three moderate singles and a platinum album by now instead of one moderate single, one decent-sized hit and one likely flop with a struggling album.

Howl wouldn't be my choice for a single but it (and pretty much anything) would be better than the disastrous choice that was 'Drumming Song', which is their lowest peaking single, even being outpeaked by Cosmic Love which was released nearly a year later after the album had sold far more  I would order her 'Lungs' era like this: Dog Days Are Over Cosmic Love (album release) Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up) You've Got The Love Heavy In Your Arms (deluxe album release) Edited December 8, 201114 yr by Bré
December 8, 201114 yr Pour moi: Kiss With A Fist Dog Days Are Over Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up) (Lungs) Cosmic Love You've Got The Love Heavy In Your Arms (Between Two Lungs) Missing off two of my favourites "Drumming Song" and the much-maligned "Girl With One Eye", shame.
December 8, 201114 yr Kiss With A Fist was on every other Channel 4 ad when it was released. Would have been silly not to release it as a single! :P Howl, I've never heard however...
December 8, 201114 yr They did totally screw up by waiting until all interest in the era had waned before unleashing 'Cosmic Love'. It was the OBVIOUS choice to follow-up 'Rabbit Heart' and everyone knew it at the time, I don't know what they were thinking.
December 10, 201114 yr It didn't seem to get mentioned earlier in the week, and this might not be the proper place, but anyway... Airplay re-entries last week #74 Pogues #75 Mariah
