Last minute Christmas shopping on Friday and Saturday will probably give it a huge boost. I think 50k today, 70k on Friday and then 120k+ on Saturday!

We can only hope that Cowell getting his ass kicked so thoroughly, will persuade him to end XF... :teresa:

Based on the info we have from OCC website the top 8 singles looks like this

1 Military Wives (390,000)

2 Little Mix

3 Lou Monte

4 Alex Day (13k ahead)

5 Coldplay

6 Olly Murs

7 Lloyd

8 Nirvana

However there is less than 600 copies separating Nos 6 to 8

On a different note we still don't have any updates from MW (Music Week that is)

Hopefully the campaigns will die down after this years flop of a campaign for Nirvana. Especially as NONE of them are above Little Mix. :D
Alex Day actually extending a lead over #5 (Coldplay) - that's crazy. Hopefully the multiple versions of 'Forever Yours' all begin to drop quickly come Friday/Saturday and result in a low top 10-placing, having 4 'campaign' songs in the top 10 is one thing, but 3 in the top 5 is just irritating.

I can't see Alex Day losing #4 now, his top version is actually holding up quite well (still #17 at the moment) and as of the last Kworb update he's still at #11 combined with just the 3 versions still T100 and is almost certainly higher than that with his other 9 versions, most of which are still T300, combined in as well. And 13k is a pretty big lead. I also think the song could hold on for a second week in the top 40 unless it starts plummeting a lot faster in the next few days.

Disappointing to see Coldplay only getting Christmas #5 when they looked set for the #3 until Alex and Lou exploded out of nowhere but they might reclimb to #2/3 next week :P

Coldplay look like they have slowed down saleswise in the singles. Last week's high sales were probably due to x factor publicity from the previous saturday.

We have mids, but they do look like yesterday's  hardly any movers.
HMV Belfast has sold out of MWC - whats the est for the end of the week - 550-600k?

550,000 disappointed parents & grandparents on xmas day i feel.

Could be 700K. I'll go for that.

#10 in the year-end chart is going to be at the likes 770-775k. I'm still uncertain whether MWC are gonna make it. I hope for no more 150k next week. I really hope that the year-end top-10 will stay as it is

Dominick The Donkey passes 50k sales, Military Wives top 380k

13:30 | Thursday December 22, 2011

Source: MW

Chris Moyles-backed single Dominick The Donkey has sold 55,124 units according to the latest Official Charts Company data – putting it at No.3 in today's Midweek chart update.

Wherever You Are from the Military Wives and Gareth Malone continues to dominate the rest of the field, with 389,636 sales - and now looks a dead cert for the Christmas No.1 position.

Little Mix’s Cannonball remains at No.2 with 71,379 unit sales, whilst YouTube favourite Alex Day sits comfortably in fourth spot with 41,311.

Coldplay’s Paradise is currently at No.5 with 28,060 sales. Nirvana’s Smells Like Teen Spirit drops two places from yesterday’s Midweeks to No.8, boasting 21,165 sales.

Where exactly is 'Heart Skips A Beat' today?

And is '21' really down to #11 today or is that an error? :o

Drake album climbing again :D Hopefully it will sell 20k+ this week.

If 'What Makes You Beautiful' is 20+2 today it should be listed in the main update as it was #24 last week.

And don't forget to eat your feet, you can add salt and pepper for the taste

You have to wonder if more than a few % of those will ever listen to it more than once, though...

Doesnt matter if they buy the single and never listen to it, its going to be Christmas number one with massive sales. :)

They'll just file it in the bureau next to their copies of 'Candle in the Wind 1997', 'Do They Know It's Christmas (1984)' and 'Do They Know It's Christmas (2004)'
