Rihanna is credited as the lead artist in OG(ITW) so it is her song and it counts as her million seller. Guetta is credited as a producer on IGF so it's a million seller he was involved in but he wasn't credited as an actual artist on it so I wouldn't describe it as 'his million seller'. Same applies to the writers of OG(ITW).

 

I just see 'million seller as a lead artist' as counting for more than 'million seller as a featured artist' or 'million seller as a producer/writer only'. The latter doesn't count for NOTHING but it just means that I wouldn't refer to it as being a million seller 'for' that artist, just one 'involving' them. If you get me.

Chasing Cars is by Snow Patrol, not Coldplay (although it's an easy mistake to make tbh :lol:).

 

Releived that On the Floor isn't higher. I hope we get more interesting summer hits next year. 2010 was good with Stereo Love, Alors on danse and We No Speak Americano, but 2011 just seemed to three poor imitations of those songs with rap verses thrown in (On the Floor, Mr. Saxobeat and Party Rock Anthem respectively).

I don't think any of those songs you've listed from this year sound like the other three songs from last year :S

I think all of them are great as well bar We No Speak Americano which was just atrocious

I think crediting the featuring artists for million selling songs is valid. But that's only technically. Realistically it's funny to see how people say how successful Christina was based on ONE MINOR FEATURING on ONE SONG. It hyped her quite a bit but like Bray I'll judge her success when she actually releases HER OWN material on HER OWN ERA. Now - yeah, she was featured on the second biggest song of the year, good luck to her. But floptag isn't removed. When she releases her own 'Don't Hold Your Breath', 'Poison' and 'Right There' with all the success they got - then that will be fair.

I feel really bad for him though, as he's gotten himself into an awful situation now. The album could be fantastic, but people will still be disappointed, since they've waited like 8 years for it or whatever.

 

I read that the next single features Kendrick Lamar, The Game and samples Aaliyah, and it's due for release soon. I'm excited to hear it, but chart-wise, I think this'll miss the top 40 in all honesty, especially since he always releases his songs on air, on sale, which means it'll be released mid-week.

My iTunes is slowly getting there. The top 10 preview on the main page has updated, but when you look at the top 200, Military Wives are still at #1, even though Paradise is #1 on the main page :lol:

CC got back to #39 at the start of 2010 because it was voted the best song the decade (I DESPAIR for humanity) on a TV show.

 

It's so high at the moment because it's 59p as well as the gift card effect - if it was still 99p I doubt the gift card effect would be affecting it much.

 

I've given up on the bast*rd ever dying so as long as it doesn't go top 40 this week I'll be relatively happy :P

 

I'm with you Bre. I love Snow Patrol but I've never liked Chasing Cars. I like that they have put that behind then and are going back to their up tempo sound like Spitting Games, Chocolate, You're all that I have.

Rihanna is now a million-selling artist anyway because OG(ITW) has passed the mark as well - but no, prior to that I wouldn't call her a 'million-selling artist', just an artist who appeared on a million-selling single.

I think they held up well because on Christmas day some people still bought them and the gift card effect was not yet full in charge. Watch those songs plummet from today on. Xmas is over now. I can see Lou Monte and Bieber dropping faster now.

No, I don't expect Radio 2 to play anything from Dr. Dre, apart from, maybe, Family Affair. :lol:

 

And 1Xtra will play anything Dr. Dre does, except I'm pretty sure nobody who listens to that station actually legally downloads (songs they playlist on Radio 1Xtra sometimes don't even grace the top 1000 on iTunes!).

 

I don't think Radio 1 will playlist it, because they didn't playlist Kush. Although I'm sure they'll play it randomly once or twice.

 

It might not even get released anyway tbh. This is the 3rd time he's changed what he's going to release as the next single now. :lol: I hope he just releases something soon, since I want new music from him. :wub:
