JLS looking for a top 20 now, which is impressive in a way, as I thought they'd miss the top 40 altogether at one point. Eyes Wide Shut had a massive boost on its release week too, but that was expected since there was the Tinie Tempah remix.

I hope Taio Cruz doesn't do well. His songs are always so generic and boring, apart from Dirty Picture, which is incredible, and I can relate to the song a lot too.

Funny to see Alesha Dixon back. I know most people hated it, but I loved Hollaback Girl Drummer Boy. Her song with with Roll Deep did awfully though.

Going back a bit, but I wouldn't say Tinchy Stryder, Chipmunk (who's not urban-dance anyway, the danciest thing he's done was the Notorious remix lol) and Taio Cruz are struggling really. Spaceship was a big enough hit for Tinchy, Champion was MASSIVE and Taio had Higher as a big hit last year. Granted, they've had unsuccessful singles too, but all artists, even the biggest ones like Lady Gaga and Rihanna have those occasionally.

Ok. What I mean is 'urban artists who properly broke through in 2009 and may, or may not, have dancy elements to their sound'. :P I guess Higher was pretty big. With Chipmunk, I genuinely feel as though that was a one-off BRILLIANT song (and partly because of Chris Brown), just take a look at how Flying High, In The Air, his album, and any other singles he may have released performed! :P But Off The Record did terribly despite a Calvin Harris production (which seems to be becoming popular...), and Spaceship had no legs (5 weeks in the Top 40 I think...).

Hope Michael starts to climb again soon, such a beautiful song. Deserves to be a hit for him.

Was surprised to see a new Alesha Dixon song out of nowhere! Since it's being used in a 3 minutes ad campaign that will premiere today, I hope it's a hit for her. Really like the song.

What's going on? How are JLS suddenly in the top 20?!

Champion does seem more like a Chris Brown song, I agree.

Yeah, Off the Record did really badly. :( But like last year, he had Second Chance flop, but then had a hit with Let It Rain (which was a post-album song, so had to climb up the charts too). I guess we'll have to see how his next single (Bright Lights) does, but I could see it not doing very well too tbh. But I think he could have another big hit one day. I think he needs to get a bit ahead of the musical trends like he did in 2008 with Take Me Back.

It's the actual release week this week (so it's when the remixes, etc. come out).

Happy New Year

I really hope Alesha can o Top 40. Drummer Boy was underrated, still not sure why it was not a big hit.

Chipmunk and his label made some terrible release choices for him. Superstar and Every Gal were sure fire

hits but they picked such bland songs for him to release other than the brilliant Champion.

Tinchy is going Top 5 easily with his new song featuring Pixie. Taio is just boring and will need his fake lavender

relationship with Cheryl to give him some publicity.

That doesn't explain why the album version is now top 20 :P It's been gradually climbing for the last few days anyway but has climbed a lot today.

They should just go ahead and make it 59p while they still have the chance and it might maintain their 100% top 10 record after all.

OK so my hopes of JLS missing the top 20 definately won't happen. It'd be good if they peaked at #10 for purposes of the pattern in their singles peaks (however TACOM has already messed it up by missing #1 )

I heard Taio is writing some songs for Cheryl's album. Perhaps they should do an actual duet (like 3 Words and Heartbreaker). I'm really excited for Cheryl's album (mainly for Alex Da Kid's and will.i.am's songs).

With Chipmunk, they even made a video for Every Gyal, so I'm surprised they didn't release it as a single. I always thought Every Gyal and also Take Off sounded so American. Every Gyal is like Lil Wayne rapping on an Akon instrumental. Maybe he's trying to get signed to Young Money a la Jay Sean. I'm not surprised Take Off flopped. Everything Trey Songz puts his name to seems to flop in the UK, even though he's so popular in the US.

Oh yeah. Sorry. Perhaps their fanbase have been waiting until the release week to actually buy it? If so, that's actually a good strategy for those artists who struggle with getting their post-album songs to climb up the chart.

JLS have a devoted fanbase and many seem to have waited until release week until purchasing the song. Also, it was around #32 anyway before last night, so was rising anyway, due to more airplay and crossing over to the general public more. It seems to have been a mix of these two things.

JLS performed on Alan Carr's New Year thing last night which explains the climb. I find it truly horrendous, so hopefully it peaks this week then drops like a brick!

Pumped Up Kicks  #33

Call It What You Want #172

It seems you feel what I feel! :puke2:

At least Jls will have a song eventually miss the top 10, Imagine if the song was reduced to 59p it would storm it's way in the top 10.. this really does show how big the Jls fanbase as people will most likely already own the song but downloading it to help Jls. Perfect time for Marvin & Rochelle to announce their enganmenet then as it will help Jls gain more publicity!

Flo Rida is actually incredibile. He's looking likely to get number one and has shown amazing power of staying in the top 10, it's basically doing Club Can't Handle You.

06. Labrinth & Tinie Tempah - Earthquake

13. Beyonce - Love On Top

14. Rihanna - You Da One (Glad this is underperforming)

15. Jessie J - Domino.

18. Jls - Do You Feel What I Feel

46. Jls - Do YoU Feel What I Feel (Combined #12)

66. Taio Cruz - Troublemaker (I doubt this will get top 10 now)

121. Gotye - Somebody That I Used To Know

108. Alesha Dixon - Do It Our Way

369. Pixie Lott - Kiss The Stars

If Coldplay do get #1 today I'm all for Flo Rida to get a fourth #1 a week from today.

Rizzle Kicks are falling away from Flo Rida at the moment but I'm sure they'll start gaining on him again soon.

Although this has been proven many times before, Flo Rida is yet again proving that you don't need to go on TV shows and perform your song continuously, do lots of interviews, etc. to have a hit. The song is just getting played on radio stations and MTV and selling off that.

Doing that sort of promotion obviously helps a lot, but at the same time, it can't be used as an excuse for a song not doing well, especially when it's by a big artist.

I hope 'Troublemaker' doesn't do well for Taio it's disappointing for me

With a lyric at the beginning of the song:

'Your ass from the side, looks like a Coke Bottle
