The ones in bold are probably guaranteed as the last #1's of the year.

30 Singles make up 2011 with a break of the weekly #1s after Sak Noel, thank god for that.

23 Albums make up 2011, only 6 albums were at #1 in the first 6 months of the year, with the reminder 17 albums falling between July and December.

I wish a better song than We Found Love could've stopped that run of #1s. Although if they held back We Found Love to its original planned date for release anyway, Moves Like Jagger would've got 2 weeks I think.

Edited by Eric_Blob

21's second run at #1 was 6 weeks, not 4.

Ridiculous how many 1-week #1 albums we've had in a row. Like I said a couple of weeks ago, had 21 stopped James Morrison in his second week we would have had eighteen different #1 albums in eighteen weeks beginning and ending with Amy Winehouse. (Bublé's return to #1 last week meant there would have been an eighteenth change of #1 in a row but he had already been #1 once in that period).

I see your point about club bangers but "We R Who We R" and "Loca People" sound NOTHING alike.

If they had held We Found Love back until 13th Nov like it was supposed to have been it could have had massive first week sale but might have fallen away MUCH quicker imo!

Pixie Lott sounds like Pitbull??

Musically I can see that one. Afrojack's production really makes "Give Me Everything" otherwise it would just be bland identikit club pop like "All About Tonight".

Not their voices!!

No, their vocals are very different. I meant the instrumentals, and the songs overall. "It's all about toniiiiiiiiiight", "Give me err'thing toniiight" and "Grab someone sexy tell 'em "Hey"", "Grab someone if you're single, grab someone if you're not".

The songs are practically identical. That whole list is a bunch of Vengaboys rip-offs.

Give Me Everything's instrumental is probably the worst instrumental I've heard from Afrojack. He can do lots of interesting things (that wouldn't touch the charts at all), but GME is generic as hell (which is why it was a hit this year).

I see your point about club bangers but "We R Who We R" and "Loca People" sound NOTHING alike.

It wasn't just a list of club bangers. Like I didn't include Promises and Stay Awake since I think they sound different enough.

Favourite #1: Adele - Someone Like You

Runner-up #1: Rihanna feat. Calvin Harris - We Found Love

Worst #1: Cher Lloyd - Swagger Jagger/Jason DeRulo - Don't Wanna Go Home/Pixie Lott - All About Tonight / MWC - Wherever You Are

The #1's started off great (Bruno, Rihanna, Ke$ha) then there was a really dreadful period where we had Adele, Jessie, LMFAO and Pitbull hogging the #1 spot, then we had completly forgettable #1's with Don't Go, Promises and Swagger Jagger, then we had a bunch of cheap victories over Moves Like Jagger (Dappy, Sak Noel, Pixie Lott, Example) and are now ending the year with possibly one of the worst things i've ever heard in the MW single. :( Throw in the awful 'Don't Wanna Go Home', the annual XF charity single and boyband overload with JLS, The Wanted and One Direction getting #1's and we've had a pretty dire list of #1 singles only saved by (imo) the first artists I mentioned, On The Floor, Don't Hold Your Breath, both Olly singles and We Found Love.

As for the albums the only one I own is Olly's which is absolutely fantastic. I've heard '21', 'Born This Way' and '+' and all three were pretty dull, completely not my thing.

Once again the #2 - #5 region of songs have been much superior (Moves Like Jagger, Lightning, Earthquake, E.T, Beautiful People, It Girl, All Fired Up, Blind Faith, Best Thing I Never Had, Feel So Close, Paradise, Where Dem Girls At and The A-Team but that's just my opinion). :)

The ones I liked (and where I charted them)

Rihanna featuring Drake "What’s My Name?" (#5)

Adele "Someone Like You" (#10)

Jennifer Lopez ft. Pitbull "On The Floor" (#27)

Example "Changed The Way You Kiss Me" (#20)

DJ Fresh ft. Sian Evans "Louder" (#38)

Nero "Promises" (#25)

Olly Murs ft. Rizzle Kicks "Heart Skips A Beat" (#50)

Rihanna ft. Calvin Harris "We Found Love" (#15)

I thought "Read All About It" was a MASSIVE step down in quality compared with the wonderful "Heaven". No surprises which one goes on to be the bigger hit. -_-
