I KEEP SEEING THIS EVERYWHERE! I feel like I need to watch it for it to go away.

The marketing has clearly worked then :D

No it's the fan girls on Twitter and Tumblr practically orgasming over Josh Hutcherson and proclaiming this to be the best film since Twilight that's doing my f***ing head in. The hype behind this film is such a turn off.
2 DAYS AND 3 MINUTES LEFT.

I just know I'm going to cry to Run Daddy Run on the film, it's an incredible song

But oh god it's SO close :w00t:

Half of the soundtrack is beyond amazing.

Apart from Arcade Fire and Taylor Swift, my favourites so far are Maroon 5, Glen Hansard, Kid CuDi, The Civil Wars and The Carolina Cholocate Drops

Hopefully I will get to see this at some point this weekend, will probably be Sunday as I'm busy Fri and Sat. Can't wait!
I just have two words about this:

Battle Royale

Oh and two more

Running Man

Rip-off bullshit written for teens.

Yup, pretty much....

And the producers have cut it in order for it to get a 12 rating... I certainly wont waste my time, or 10 quid, seeing this at the cinema..... Download time.....

Just saw it.

It was beyond AMAZING.

HOWEVER I can't help but feel a bit disappointed with certain things they've done differently, in comparison to what was in the book.

(Don't read this if you haven't read the book yet or, if you have, just don't want to get as disappointed as I am before watching the film)

Buttercup's hissing! At least they kept him in the film haha! But he is quite a big part of the next two books (imo! They could easily cut all of it out for all I know).

Major UGH at them not focusing almost any attention on Rue. I swear she was on screen for like a total of five minutes. That's probably why I didn't cry when she died. Rather surprisingly I cried at the scene of Katniss covering her in flowers. So touching. It was good to actually see the hints that the first uprisings have begun during that - first connection to the second movie/book.

Loved their entrance in chariots. Although it was indeed Haymitch's idea to hold hands, not Peeta's, as they showed us. But the garments' effect was brilliant!

I didn't like the way they had just cut out the entire 3 or so days at the beginning when Katniss tried to find water.

So Katniss did not receive the sleep syrop and just left for the medicine while Peeta was asleep. That was a bummer.

At least they flashbacked to tell the burned bread story! Katniss did NOT look like she was 11 years old. Haha.

The most disappointing thing wad that they didn't include Madge, and the whole thing with the Mockingjay pin (i.e. it being brought from the Hob, given to Prim and then back to Katniss) did not feel natural. Also, they made Cinna look like he smuggled the pin into the arena while the Gamemakers explicitly cleared and allowed it into the arena.

Definitely the worst thing they did was not accent on the fact that the mutts had features of the deceased tributes! The whole thing was so well written in the book, I'm quite surprised they didn't use it at all. Oh and if you never read the book you would definitely not guess that Cato had the body of armour, so that Katniss couldn't shoot him anywhere else but the hand (it was the weak spot) when he held Peeta in a headlock.

One of the few changes I actually liked was the scene with the head Gamemaker's death. So powerful.

And the final UGH goes to the decision to omit the scene when Katniss lets Peeta know that she actually pretended to love him in the arena. And Peeta was supposed to not be okay with that in return.

In my opinion it lacked longer more intense scenes. The whole thing seemed to have passed so quickly.

Can't wait to have it in the TS/CamRip quality to watch it again in the next few days.

Booked my tickets for Friday. First time I've ever seen a movie on the 'official' opening day.

Not even the TWILIGHT SAGA Jack? :o

I'm quite looking forward to this. I'm kinda hoping the film is the next big franchise since Potter and Twilight are closing now. Like always, I haven't even heard of the books so have no idea of story or characters! Really hoping this film is good.

Anyway the hype is making me feel queazy now, I feel like I must see this. Billboards, TV Ads every minute, Jeesh enough already.

Just came back from seeing this, I had NO expectations, only knew a small bit about it before hand, not read the book. The film was alright but basically just a kids version of Battle Royale.

The first half was way too long, I enjoyed the actual games but the lead up when their in the city was far too long, gave more than enough background, didn't really like the over the topness of the set and costume design although I guess they were making a statement with it.

Basically, it was alright but it was no Battle Royale. And it's just made me want to watch Battle Royale again. Which isn't a bad thing because Battle Royale is awesome. pretty much if you're 13 or under what Hunger Games. Any older then just watch Battle Royale instead.

Kristen Bell to play Johanna in the next movie please (like she said on Jimmy Kimmel)! She would be SO good.

Seeing this on Sunday again. :D

First time EVER I will have seen one movie multiple times at the cinema.

Fml going to have to wait until Wednesday, as I have no money now to watch :(

I saw this today, and it was BRILLIANT. Jennifer and Josh really played Katniss and Peeta well, it was all just perfect tbh. :D

But I was disappointed by the few changes from the book, such as

Rue hardly being seen before her death, the Mockingjay pin, and Katniss not telling Peeta that she was pretending in the arena.

^_^

Other than those things, PERFECT.

Seeing this on Monday! I'm excited. I may find a link to watch 'Battle Royale' after watching this, too.

'HUNGER GAMES' SETS NON-SEQUEL MIDNIGHT RECORD!

The Hunger Games opened to an estimated $19.74 million at midnight, which ranks seventh all-time behind the last three Harry Potter and Twilight movies. It did score the top midnight debut ever for a non-sequel, and it earned more than twice as much as the first Twilight movie ($7 million).

If one is to use the opening pattern of Breaking Dawn Part 1 and New Moon (which also opened outside of the Summer), The Hunger Games would be poised for a three-day take between $90 and $110 million. Since those were sequels, though, it's probably fair to assume The Hunger Games will at least hold up a little bit better over the next few days.

There's also a very distant chance that its pattern winds up closer to that of The Dark Knight, which would mean a weekend gross of around $160 million; it's been nearly four years since that movie came out, though and midnight attendance patterns have changed significantly in that time.

Regardless, The Hunger Games is off to a fantastic start, and it still has a very legitimate shot at passing Alice in Wonderland's $116.1 million debut to set a new March and non-sequel opening weekend record.

1. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 - $43.5 million

2. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 - $30.3 million

4. The Twilight Saga: New Moon - $26.3 million

5. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 - $24 million

6. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince - $22.2 million

7. The Hunger Games - $19.7 million

8. The Dark Knight - $18.5 million

9. Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith - $16.5 million

10. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - $16 million

EXCITING :o

OH. MY. GOD.

Wow. What a fantastic film. Didn't go in expecting a huge amount, I've never read the books and the trailer kinda appealed to me. Wow. I was blown away.

Hands down the best thing I've seen since Bridesmaids.

Read the book(s), Phil! They are even better.
