December 29, 201113 yr Do they really get that much money from Vevo for getting so many views?! Does an artist actually earn anything weekly from having their music on vevo?
December 29, 201113 yr Presumably it comes from advertising(?), but yes, they stand to make a lot of money from Vevo views! :D
December 29, 201113 yr What does JLO even have on Vevo? Her two songs this year and a smallish back catalogue around 10 years old?
December 29, 201113 yr She has 27 videos on her Vevo. On The Floor, I'm Into You (2 versions) & Papi provide 597,119,791 of her views. Therefore her older videos contribute 181,708,827 views combined. :)
December 29, 201113 yr Gaga has 2Billion now. The first female to do so :D Insert Justin Bieber joke here.
December 30, 201113 yr Author Do they really get that much money from Vevo for getting so many views?! Does an artist actually earn anything weekly from having their music on vevo? VEVO revenue: 2010: $50 mil 2011: $150 mil 2012: he projects $300 mil. And VEVO doesn't even have Warner Music Group artists. It will this week announce that it is streaming 3.7bn music videos a month. Doug Morris, the Sony Music chief executive who launched it two years ago while running Universal, told the Financial Times its revenues had risen from about $50m in 2010 to about $150m this year, and should hit $300m in 2012.
December 30, 201113 yr What does JLO even have on Vevo? Her two songs this year and a smallish back catalogue around 10 years old? I've seen VEVO channels with just two songs on before, so I don't think you need a certain amount of videos to start one. And I wouldn't say her back catalogue was smallish! :o Compared to Lady Gaga, for example, J-Lo has 7 albums and about 30 singles overall (depending on which country of course) and Lady Gaga has 2 albums and 11(?) singles.
January 22, 201213 yr Well done Rihanna, she becomes the first female to pass 2 billion views. it's all over Youtube!
January 22, 201213 yr Well done Rihanna, she becomes the first female to pass 2 billion views. it's all over Youtube! Rihanna has overtaken GAGA in terms of number of views but GAGA got to 2bn first.
January 22, 201213 yr What does JLO even have on Vevo? Her two songs this year and a smallish back catalogue around 10 years old? what about LMFAO almost reaching 1 billion... they're just 2 hit wonders.... they're the ones with no career... J.Lo has already released several albums & has many number 1's all over the globe, so it's not weird to see her there....
January 22, 201213 yr Rihanna has overtaken GAGA in terms of number of views but GAGA got to 2bn first. Then why are VEVO saying Rihanna has done it first and not GAGA huh? Do you know better than them????
