Wherever You Are doesn't deserve to be lumped in with Wishing On A Star, She Makes Me Wanna and Don't Wanna Go Home  Oh well...

Jenny and Shitbull or Rihanna and Calvin for the win s'il vous plait!

nothing too surprising so far, the only one I really like is No Regrets and I knew it wouldn't do that well anyway, Loca People is a song I liked at the time but got old so quickly

There's been a lot of shit at number 1 this year. However, it was no where near as bad as 2010 or 2009.

Yeah, 2009 especially was AWFUL imo. :puke: 2010 was my favourite of the 3 years, but still worse than every year in the 90's and before, and most years from the 00's. :(

I'm glad All About Tonight missed the top 20. It's so generic and shrill.

2009 is one of my favourite years for music! (Can't quite remember the number 1's as much but 'Knock You Down' remains the anthem to my life! as well as my favourite number 1 of that year, 'My Life Would Suck Without You').

Nothing too surprising so far. Although 'Swagger Jagger' is one or two places higher than I thought it would be, so YAY at that. Pixie missing the top 20, not a surprise as such, just more shock that I thought she was a Buzzjack fave so thought she was destined for Top 15/brink of top 10. Glad she isn't though. Airplay completely killed it off for me.

20 / Little Mix - Cannonball / 2030 POINTS

2011 Chart run; 1-2 [2wks]

The 2011 X Factor winners just squeeze into the top 20. Thought this might have been a bit higher given they seemed very much favourites on the site, but maybe it's because of the song choice or something? One -10 & one 140, this is personally my favourite X Factor winner's single and I very much look forward to hearing what they come up with next year.

19 / DJ Fresh feat. Sian Evans - Louder / 2200 POINTS

2011 Chart run; 1-2-2-3-5-9-13-21-26-35-41-47-61-70-78-86 [16wks]

A more middling position for a song which is neither bad or great, although the -10 & 150 suggests that at least one person thinks each of those. A big dance hit in the Summer, with the follow up single released soon - will that be featured in the countdown next year?

18 / Nero - Promises / 2220 POINTS

2011 Chart run; 1-5-13-22-36-52-66-86-93-97-99 [11wks]

Nero's 3rd single from 'Welcome Reality' benefitted from a bit of a low sales week before making a quick exit and some will consider it one of the non #1s of the year given it only spent five weeks top 40 (one less than Example below, but spent an extra week in the top 100). I do think it's the best single they've released though.

17 / Example - Stay Awake / 2220 POINTS

2011 Chart run; 1-5-6-14-19-29-47-64-81-83 [10wks]

The least favourite of one and the favourite of another, 'Stay Awake' is the 2nd single released from 'Playing In The Shadows' and it narrowly beat 'Moves Like Jagger' to #1 one week. Personally I prefer this to 'Changed The Way You Kiss Me' which finishes a fair bit higher.

Tying for points, Example finishes higher due to receiving positive points from 31 voters, compared with 30 for Nero.

2009 is one of my favourite years for music! (Can't quite remember the number 1's as much but 'Knock You Down' remains the anthem to my life! as well as my favourite number 1 of that year, 'My Life Would Suck Without You').

Yes. Knock You Down is brilliant. By far one of the highlights of 2009. For me, with regards to mainstream music, I was living off the 2006-2008 music a lot at the time, just because the majority of the new music being released at the time was quite boring imo. My Life Would Suck Without You was good too. Insanely catchy! :D

And fitting that the two Nero-produced songs have the same number of points. I liked both the songs, and they were amongst the better #1s of the year, even if perhaps they weren't the most deserving of the title in terms of their final sales totals. Promises is the better of the two imo.

16 / One Direction - What Makes You Beautiful / 2420 POINTS

2011 Chart run; 1-3-5-4-10-12-18-23-27-25-20-24-35-24-21 [15wks]

Just missing out on the top 15 is my personal favourite #1 (and song) of the year, the debut single from One Direction. :( The reception to it on the site seems quite good overall though, thankfully it didn't pick up a -10.

15 / Pitbull feat. Ne-Yo, Afrojack & Nayer - Give Me Everything / 2490 POINTS

2011 Chart run; 35-25-12-4-1-1-1-2-4-4-5-8-9-6-7-11-12-19-22-25-32-36-36-42-49-61-54-68-65-70-99 [31wks]

Making it into the top 15 whilst picking up a -10 is 'Give Me Everything', one of the songs of the year that I think shows that 'On Air, On Sale' CAN work (neither Pitbull or LMFAO were big names within the UK before their climbs to #1 and selling LOADS). I don't mind this though so I won't hold a grudge.

I'm surprised One Direction is that low, I thought it would've been nearer the top 10, certainly ahead of the likes of 'Dance With Me Tonight'.

14 / Professor Green feat. Emeli Sandé - Read All About It / 2560 POINTS

2011 Chart run; 1-1-4-9-13-19-32-41-44 [9wks]

I'm surprised this was so short lived considering it sold around 150k first week and is basically just another 'Airplanes'/'Love The Way You Lie' and is by far Pro Green's best single. The masses don't mind it too much, it picked up a variety of scores (but not a -10) to make it into the top 15.

13 / Bruno Mars - Grenade / 2650 POINTS

2011 Chart run; 1-1-2-2-4-7-7-9-10-13-17-21-21-18-27-33-36-43-44-45-53-54-61-59-67-68-72-69-80-87-82-x-99-x-83-82-x-63-93-98 [37wks]

One of the big hits from the start of 2011, the 2nd single from 'Doo Wops & Hooligans', the well-known hated track of one Mr. Blob fairs quite well here. I really liked this at first but airplay killed it off quicker than you can say 'Grenade'.

I'm actually quite surprised Grenade made it that high, considering it has a large amount of haters on here, but then I also know that several people think it's his best single...

Read All About It finishing in an expected position then. This is good. One Direction are a little low, but fine. Ugh at GME going that high though.

12 / The Wanted - Glad You Came / 2710 POINTS

2011 Chart run; 1-1-2-3-6-10-12-19-25-27-34-37-37-50-44-54-51-56-71 [19wks]

The Wanted's 2nd #1, the summer smash 'Glad You Came', is the highest boyband entry on the countdown but still manages to miss out on a top 10 position.

11 / Olly Murs - Dance With Me Tonight / 2840 POINTS

2011 Chart run; 2-2-1-3-6 [5wks]

Olly's 3rd #1 and 2nd from 'In Case You Didn't Know' just misses out on a place within the top 10 but he doesn't need to worry as his other 2011 #1 has made it in. I'm glad it's worked out this way as DWMT is good but I think HSAB is a lot better.

Both these songs got at least one 150 but neither got a -10. Into the top 10 we go! Predictions? Here is a reminder of what has made the top 10, in a random order.

Example - Changed The Way You Kiss Me

LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem

Jennifer Lopez - On The Floor

Ke$ha - We R Who We R

Nicole Scherzinger - Don't Hold Your Breath

Olly Murs - Heart Skips A Beat

Adele - Someone Like You

Jessie J - Price Tag

Rihanna - What's My Name?

Rihanna - We Found Love

'Dance With Me Tonight' is my favourite Olly single, but I am very pleased it got to number 11. (And ahead of Bruno, One Direction & Pitbull - which was quite liked on here). Good results so far, although LMFAO shouldn't be anywhere near the top 10 if you ask me. But you win some, you lose some. :P
We Found Love for the win, but I like all the songs in that top 10 (with the possible exception of LMFAO!
the only one I don't think should be top 10 is We R Who We R, for me that was the most forgettable number 1 of the year especially since she had infinitely better ones :( other than that, thats a good top 10, surprised LMFAO made it that high though :o shame about Grenade and Read All About It missing the top 10, but the former did much better than I thought it would
Great to see LMFAO in the top 10 :o Really wasn't expecting that as it was the hate #1 of the year by a large number of points. I think the number one is between Someone Like You and We Found Love, with On The Floor, Price Tag and Don't Hold Your Breath making up the rest of the top 5.
Someone Like You or my sexy husband ftw :cheer: So glad he nearly had 2 entries top 10 :o
