The highlights are most definitely the singles for me. I think she's done a very good job of choosing songs that sound like hits from an album that isn't packed with them. My favourite album tracks would be 'Breaking The Law' which is beautiful, 'Mountains' and 'Clown'.

Yeah, I'm a bit of a loon for her - this is after a while of letting it settle in. I'm sure it'll be my favourite album of the year. The album could even have another 9/10 if the album version of "Breaking The Law" was more like the live version she does:

I'm hoping it becomes a single, I'd love to here it as a proper single mix! Hoping to see her for the third time at Big Weekend next month.

Seems better than I remember it being actually, there are a couple too many dull ballads though.

The studio version of Wonder on the US album is amazing. It's a shame it wasn't recorded in time for the UK version but maybe they'll do a re-release? The US version also has the amazing single mix of My Kind Of Love.

edit - Actually it's not exactly the same as the UK single mix but there are added strings.

I really love Our Version Of Events, its probably my favourite album of 2012 so far. Every time I listen to it I get reminded of just how good it is.

Read All About It is just absolutely perfect, it makes me teary every time I hear it.

The BRITs always pick a good Critic's Choice; Adele, Florence, Jessie and Emeli are among my favourite acts of all time.

I didn't see much of her set at the Olympic Torch thing in Dundee (It was very short and parking was a complete nightmare) but what I did see was superb. Will have to get the album.

#27 Emeli Sandé – Our Version Of Events – 12,250

compared to Rebbeca's album #23 with 12,006

Decent enough I guess! Glad 'My Kind Of Love' is proving to be a lasting hit for her, it's stunning and really is one of my favourite songs of the year by a long shot. The lyrics I can really relate to as well which I think is important with a song sometimes.

That's actually amazing considering Rebecca had an R&B hit (albeit very minor) and some promo, I don't think Emeli had anything and she actually sold more (very slightly but still) :o Not that they really have to be compared.

Wish she would get some US airplay to push her up! I'm with Jack on MKOL too, so glad it's lasted even if it hasn't peaked as high as Heaven or Next To Me. it's simply stunning

I still don't understand how Heaven wasn't her biggest hit? It's the only song that has interested me at all so far + seems like the kind of thing people would be all over.

huge drop but again little better than Rebbeca's second week.

album is still in top BB top 200, but this week has dropped to #190 sadly

full chart run

Pre-sales [74 copies] [#28 [12,250 copies] - [#90 [5,542 copies] - [#166 [3,312 copies] - [#190 [2,831 copies] = 24,009 copies total sold 4 weeks

That's still 20k more than I thought she'd sell over there

Her Olympics performance was amazing and that is reflected on iTunes (currently at #3!)

VEVO have uploaded this live version of the song now...

Could they play this on music channels and turn it into a proper single like 'Someone Like You'?

I'm imagining they will and Heart etc. will get on board. Not my favourite from the album but she deserves all the success she can get. I'd be more thrilled for her if it was 'Breaking The Law' or 'Lifetime' getting this success.
Whilst I am happy that Emeli is getting this exposure and probably going to get another nice-sized hit out of it, I don't much care for her solo version of Read All About It. If it was Breaking The Law (which is utterly beautiful) I'd be loving it.

Hopefully I'm not reading into it too much, but I'm thinking "Breaking The Law" could be the next single. According to Amazon she's releasing a deluxe version of the album in October and it features the new version of "Breaking The Law" (which is a more upbeat version that she performs live). I hope she does, I could see it being a decent sized hit.

I'm pleased to see "Read All About It pt. III" do well though, I'm hoping it's an "Empire State Of Mind pt. II" type hit.

Ooh I hope so! Although I like it the way it is tbh. But it is my favourite left on the album ... maybe she could get an X Factor slot with it?

I'd be very surprised if she didn't get an X-Factor slot!

I do like Breaking The Law but it's lacking something that I can't put my finger on, perhaps the slightly upbeat version will be what makes it click with me.

Btw she's on Naughty Boy's new single Wonder (also on the deluxe Our Version Of Events along with Abide With Me and hopefully Imagine!):

Should be another hit for her!
