I really like Wonder, I've had it for a while now. I don't think she has the voice to pull off a song which isn't meant to be depressing though. Does that make sense? Even when she's singing upbeat songs, she sounds utterly miserable.

I slightly agree tbh, it's the same problem I have with Leona Lewis singing uptempo songs.

I do like Breaking The Law but it's lacking something that I can't put my finger on, perhaps the slightly upbeat version will be what makes it click with me.

I used to agree, it was one of my least favourites on the album, but the upbeat version made it click with me. There's loads of videos on Youtube of her performing it - this is one of the most audible:

Yeah, I know what you mean, her voice seems like it can only convey certain emotions. She has a very strong voice, but she's quite weak when it comes to out and out happy songs. "Where I Sleep" and "Next To Me" are happy, but she's at her best when there's a dark side or empowering vocal to the song - "Wonder" just comes out a bit flat. Still, I've not heard a song by her that I dislike.

Oh that does sound much better a bit more upbeat, thanks! I should think it's planned as a single if they've recorded that version especially for the re-release.

An expanded edition of Emeli Sandé's acclaimed debut Our Version of Events. This edition features five bonus tracks, including collaborations with Naughty Boy and Labrinth, as well as Sandé's cover of the classic "Abide With Me"

Tracklist

1. Heaven

2. My Kind of Love

3. Where I Sleep

4. Mountains

5. Clowns

6. Daddy (feat. Naughty Boy)

7. Maybe

8. Suitcase

9. Breaking the Law

10. Nest to Me

11. River

12. Lifetime

13. Hope

14. Read All About It (Pt.III)

15. Wonder (Naughty Boy feat. Emeli Sandé)

16. Beneath Your Beautiful

17. Breaking the Law (New Version)

18. Easier in Bed

19. Abide With Me

The only new songs for me will be Wonder and Abide With Me, plus the new version of Breaking The Law. The second is available now and I could just buy it any time in the run up to this, and Wonder's gonna be out beforehand anyway. I have Beneath Your Beautiful on Labrinth's album and Easier In Bed was a free download when you signed up to her mailing list earlier this year. Bit disappointed. :(

"Imagine" WILL be on the deluxe edition! :D

Emeli Sandé - Imagine, as seen on the BBC coverage of the Olympics Closing Ceremony. Taken from the upcoming Special Edition of Our Version Of Events. Pre-order: http://bit.ly/es-ovoese

Released worldwide (excl. US & Canada) on 29th October 2012.

Our Version Of Events the special edition will include 5 bonus tracks counting among them the Emeli's cover of John Lennon's Imagine from the Olympics Closing Ceremony, Wonder a track by Naughty Boy which Emeli features on and a collaboration with Labrinth too.

The tracklisting is the same as posted above, except the bottom four tracks, which are now:

16. "Breaking the Law" (Alternate Version)

17. "Easier in Bed"

18. "Imagine"

19. "Beneath Your Beautiful" (Labrinth ft. Emeli Sandé)

So no "Abide with Me". No big loss there.

I'm so glad there's finally a studio version (and hopefully a rip soon)! The album itself has really grown on me too; there are so many more standouts than I initially realised, and there's still some more potential singles on there.

Edited by THEO.

So I'm presuming 'Beneath Your Beautiful' is heading for a definite November-ish release, considering it's on Labrinth's album AND she has been allowed to add it to her own. That XFactor performance is going to be AMAZING.

The live CD/DVD is really highlighting for me just how strong an album Our Version Of Events really is, overexposed or not. I'd never even heard Tiger before and apparently it's been available to buy as an iTunes bonus track for over a year! Just downloaded it now, should have been on the main tracklist!
Artists that are unknown normally do this to get people to listen - just look at Taio Cruz with Ludacris being added to Break your Heart!

Same with Olly getting Chiddy Bang  although I don't think even he's well known in America.

The standard version was doing fine without him on it, wasn't it? If she'd done a radio tour or something then she could have EASILY got 'Next To Me' to go top 50! Tacking on rappers to songs really does NOT work in the US! Why do British artists feel the need to do this?! :\ (Thank fully Cher Lloyd's SOLO 'Want U Back' was the big hit... NOT the one where she added Astro!)
