MJ "Man in the Mirror" #102

Why? Not that I don't love me some MJ...

next week could see SHM, Pixie Lott and Beyonce push out 3 of the top 10 - Olly Murs, Lloyd and Coldplay I'm hoping - 'Levels' by Avicii still has more potential in it.

No chance of Lloyd dropping out of the top 10 with his second version in the 20s. Olly Murs and Labrinth will definitely drop out of the top 10 next week, Rihanna will do as well if Guetta doesn't manage to knock her out this week, then Coldplay could possibly drop out as well depending on the way the climbing album tracks act in the next week. SHM and Pixie (and Guetta if not this week) will definitely go top 10 IMO, then a possible 3rd/4th entry could come from Beyoncé, Kelly Clarkson, Rihanna, Pitbull or Gotye.

Other than 'Antidote' the only other even vaguely significant new releases next week are Yasmin/Ms. Dynamite/Shy FX and Doctor P/Jenna G - the former could scrape the top 40, the latter will probably flop but it could also just go top 40, like Breakage/Jess Mills' 'Fighting Fire' which had similar support.

Sucks that that's Jess Mills' only hit record so far, though I do appreciate it now. But Pixelated People better be HUGE.

Alexandra Burke's new single 'Elephant' - the single version:

Apart from the over-autotuned opening, the rest of the song is absolutely fantastic!

I can see this going to #1 although my instincts are usually wrong so it probably won't now. :P

Her voice is so synthesised you can't even tell its Alexandra. It has potential as a tune but its a bit samey all the way through and the lyrics are inane at times

63. Twin Atlantic 'Free'

64. The Black Keys 'Lonely Boy'

^ Wish these would climb into the top 40 too - the latter especially deserves to be HUGE.

Nice to see someone likes this - absoultely amazing song

Just listened to"Kiss The Stars" properly for the first time. It's not as bad as I thought it was going to be but IT'S STILL AWFUL. :puke:

Lonely Boy is absolutely incredible

Kelly at number 12?! Incredible! I really am amazed by it's success. I as truly setting myself up for a 'I Do Not Hook Up'-style flop. Hopefully she doesn't fall too much due to it being the weekend and can climb into the top 10 sometime on Sunday.

I know jonjo so was I! So happy to see it so high. Hopefully heading for top 10, much better then the new Pixie Lott song!

I'm happy to see Love On Top in top 10, climb now! :P

Great news for Adele & Set Fire To The Rain, its #1 on US iTunes. :o

07. Coldplay - Paradise 38.3%

08. Avicii - Levels 37.8%

09. Pixie Lott - Kiss The Stars 35.5% (10% behind Top 5. Should hopefully go top 5 after Dancing On Ice)

10. Beyonce - Love On Top 31.8%

It's looking likely that Beyonce will drop out of the top 10 with Swedish House Mafia overtaking her on Sunday, which is a shame.

 8. Kiss The Stars - Pixie Lott

I wonder if this era would have gone a lot better if this was the second single - 'What Do You Take Me For?' was an appalling choice and I think it's pretty much killed her entire career, KTS seems to be reviving it to some extent but if it doesn't help the album then it may as well not have been released.

Yikes!! I'm not eating cheese tonight :o

'Kiss the Stars' shows no progression in her music though - just another generic pop song like 'All About Tonight' and 'Boys & Girls'. I've only ever really liked 'Turn It Up' from Lott as a single and 'Cry Me Out' was a grower.

On the topic of Alexandra, after a few listens you can tell it's going to be huge. Hopefully a fourth solo #1 in the bag.

Kiss The Stars is average but I can see why it was chosen as the single. The better songs (imo) such as Nobody Does It Better and Perfect are not good single choices at all (as slow R&B tracks) - theywouldn't do well. Generic pop like KTS however does sell, and it doing so well is a great example of how anyone can get over a shaky part of an era with the right handling - they've pretty much done everything perfectly with KTS so far, and the DOI performance is still to come!

Elephant is generic to the max aswell. It's also awful. I hope it dosen't go to number one.

Nobody Does It Better was originally meant to be single 3, so it should be single 4.

I'm quite happy with that tbh, it's one of the few songs worth going back to on YFH!
