Tuesday sales flash information reveals that the LP is be just ahead of Ed Sheeran, who is in second place with ‘+’. The second highest, and only new entry in the Top 40, looks likely to be London rockers Tribes with debut album, Baby. Jessie J continuing to lead the way in the singles chart update with Domino. Swedish house Mafia and Knifeparty’s Antidote looks set to be a new entry at No. 2 while David Guetta’s Titanium (feat Sia), climbs five places from 8-3. Pixie Lott’s Kiss The Stars, which isn’t officially released until January 30, looks set to make its first appearance in the Top 10 in what is set to be its third week on the chart, climbing from 14-6. Despite having an official release date of February 12, Cher Llloyd’s Want U Back is this week’s highest climber, up 27 places from 56 to 29. January 16, 201214 yr Author Midweek Charts: Rivals making ground on Enter Shikari 15:51 | Wednesday January 18, 2012 Source: MW By Paul Williams Ed Sheeran and Adele are breathing down the necks of Enter Shikari as the St Albarns band look to score the highest-charting album of their career and a possible number one. A Flash Flood Of Colour continues to head the UK artist albums market after accumulating 12,838 sales up to the end of trading on Tuesday, according to Official Charts Company figures. However, both Ed Sheeran’s Asylum/Atlantic album + and XL artist Adele’s 21 remain less than 5,000 sales behind and have every chance of overtaking by the weekend. Wherever A Flash Flood Of Colour ends up it will significantly improve on the chart placing of their previous studio album, 2009’s Common Dreads, their only one released via a major – Atlantic Records – and which reached number 16. This new album is independently issued through their label Ambush Reality, as was 2007’s Take To The Skies, which is currently their highest-charting album, having debuted and peaked at four. Sheeran’s album is at the moment trailing Enter Shikari by about 4,200 copies with 21 a further 300 copies behind. Having returned to number one last Sunday, Elektra/Atlantic’s Bruno Mars is now down in a fourth place with Doo-Wops & Hooligans, while the Columbia/Parkwood Entertainment-issued 4 by Beyonce remains in fifth position. Following a performance last Saturday on Jonathan Ross’s ITV1 chat show, Island act Florence + The Machine’s Ceremonials is set for a Top 10 return. Sales are up on the week by 49%, moving it on sales flashes 21-8. In another quiet week for new albums there is just one other brand new entry besides A Flash Flood Of Colour showing up in the Top 40. It belongs to Island-signed guitar band Tribes whose first album Baby is presently a new entry at 13. Jessie J had a close fight on her hands to top the UK singles chart last week with Domino and the going is far from easy again for the Island/Lava artist. Domino remains in front having sold 27,692 copies by the end of Tuesday, but only by about 3,600 sales as the Virgin-issued Antidote by Swedish House Mafia with Knifeparty crops up as a new entry at two. Another Virgin release, David Guetta featuring Sia’s Titanium, has progressed so far this week 8-3 with Island’s Rizzle Kicks dropping 3-4 with Mama Do The Hump and the Atlantic single Good Feeling by Flo Rida dropping 2-5. Sales of Mercury act Pixie Lott’s Kiss The Stars are up 206% on the week, sending it 14-7, while there is a doubling of sales for Kelly Clarkson’s RCA single Stronger to move it 21-11. Other big week-on-week sales gainers include the J/RCA-issued International Love by Pitbull featuring Chris Brown (up 62% to move 23-15), Island’s Gotye featuring Kimbra with Somebody That I Used To Know (up 53% and progressing 36-25) and the latest singles by Syco acts Cher Lloyd and One Direction. Sales of the Island-issued title have risen 49% week-on-week following the performance on the ITV1 programme of No Light, No Light a weekend ago. This has resulted in lifting the album 21-8 on midweek sales, according to the Official Charts Company. Enter Shikari’s Ambush Reality album A Flash Flood Of Colour remains at number one for the week to date, although its lead has nearly been halved since the start of the week by both Asylum/Atlantic act Ed Sheeran’s + and XL’s Adele album 21, which are currently the second and third biggest artist album sellers of the week. On singles Island/Lava’s Jessie J looks like securing a second week at the top with Domino, which by the end of trading on Thursday was around 9,000 sales ahead of the newly-issued Virgin single Antidote by Swedish House Mafia featuring Knife Party. If this remains in second place by the time the final chart is published on Sunday it will become the Swedes’ highest-charting single yet, beating the number three peak of One. There will be no mids from MW, if there is any chart info, please provide a source, so the info can be checked out first, we just have to be careful what to post on here on a Tuesday. Wednesday the title of the thread topic will be re-edited to Sunday Chart Predictions, with the full top 40 (links only) from Radio 1 posted around 4pm, and any chart news from OCC site. January 17, 201214 yr Hope the top 3 can look like come Sunday - although I'd rather see 'Titanium' at #1 or #2. Great to see Pixie out of the top 5 running now - nice as it is to have 'Kiss the Stars' / Pixie Lott back in the top 10, the song isn't worthy of top 5.

January 17, 201214 yr The Big Pink not top 40? Blimey. Although perhaps I shouldn't be entirely surprised, the first two singles are decidedly average and I haven't bought it for that reason.

'A Brief History Of Love' missed the top 40 and that had a hit single. I suppose you would still expect 'Future This' to chart higher (more time to build a fanbase etc.) but I'm not at all surprised at it not being top 40. Brilliant to see Swedish House Mafia at #2 :D Should have no problem holding #2 all week. If Enter Shikari are described as being 'just' ahead of Ed then they're probably unlikely to hold on - wasn't expecting Ed to re-overtake Bruno and Adele but he's looking like the favourite for #1 at the moment. January 17, 201214 yr 'A Brief History Of Love' missed the top 40 and that had a hit single. I suppose you would still expect 'Future This' to chart higher (more time to build a fanbase etc.) but I'm not at all surprised at it not being top 40. Even so, it's not like you need to sell much to be top 40, Tribes are releasing their debut without anything remotely verging on a hit single and it's top 10. The Big Pink have a previous album, TWO Radio 1 A-list singles from this album and it's not top 40 in even the first midweeks. A dreadful flop.
