Clearly "Video Games" really hurt "Born To Die"'s sales last week then, it was nowhere at full throttle in terms of media exposure so could stick around as well as its predecessor. "National Anthem" next please.

It's a countdown for a preorder of the album - I assume that the single will be available the same way that Coldplay's "Paradise" and Bruce Springsteen's latest singles were.

I was just thinking that, yes it would be ineligible to chart.

Why can't they just release a single version instead? At least that way the single can chart from the off?

 

With 'Paraidse', that song couldn't chart for something like 12 weeks which is just daft. The track was able to chart across Europe and I'm sure other countries iTunes stores had the same set up. So we'll see Madonna's single charting across Europe from next week but won't chart in the UK until the album has been released. Madness (especially if it was to sell 100k in 2 days to be the weeks biggest selling track).

So happy with the top 2 right now :cheer: - hope it can be like this officially on Sunday.

 

Also please Lana is top 10, its a captivating song and better than VG imo (but that might change when BTD gets a little older)

Well done Lana, top 10! Selling amazingly in the album chart as I thought she would, I hope Emeli does the same in a couple of weeks.

I think its just the hype/word of mouth which is helping it as a single, all the talk about Lana this week especially is probably getting more and more people to look into who she is, and in esult download more of her music. Should climb well now in the top 10 to secure top 10 placing come Sunday!

 

I'm really hoping Titanium gets that #1!

That plus (more likely) the album is advertised on the front page of iTunes multiple times with it being iTunes album #1 and the banner at the top therefore more iTunes users (in comparison to last week) are exposed to it, click it, listen to the excerpt and like it!

I hope kelly clarkson goes higher at some point, mind you considering I thought what doesn't kill you (stronger) wouldn't make it into the top 100 I am pleased with where she is

It's frustrating to see Lana Del Rey doing so well, she's so dull and overrated. Obviously Buzzjack adore her, but I can't stand her music. I hope Pixie can remain in the top 10 on iTunes until Sunday and hopefully climb up to #09 as Will.I.AM will overtaker her, the song is awful and will no doubt go to number one... it's catchy though.

With a big update! she's 8 combined... I think this is the place she'll finish this week! GREAT! higher than VG and the album doing very very well.

I am beginning to like Alone Again, It deserves to get a decent peak, it would be number one had it not been for Titanium (which I am rooting for to be number one).

 

Gotye - Somebody That I Used To Know has became boring so easily and it's looking likely to be going to number one on iTunes after reducing the gap on Titanium. I can't wait until we get a new batch of 59p songs next week though.

 

'Paradise' was disqualified, (from the Chart), for several weeks, because

it was a Free Gift with pre-orders of 'Mylo Xyloto'. Over 118,000 copies

of the Single were disqualified.

 

The same will happen if Madonna has some kind of 'deal', where you

get her Single for nothing, if you pre-order her Album.

 

I think it is fair. The Chart is supposed to be for Singles that people

actually buy - not what they get as a Freebie.

 

It is down to Madonna, if she wants her Single to be able to have all

of its Sales counted, in the UK. (Her Record Company, too - but, she

is not the sort of Woman who lets the Record Company call all the shots).

Everyone saying how much they love the chart at the moment - I love a lot of music to be honest, but Born To Die & Alone Again are both awful, and Somebody That I Know or whatever it's called is just plain weird :lol: Luckily, the #01 on iTunes right now is AMAZING.
