Commentary

 

In one of the closest finishes ever, Titanium by David Guetta and Sia narrowly remains ahead of former chart topper Somebody That I Used To Know by Gotye and Kimbra! Both songs have spent three weeks at No.1 so far...Swedish dance act Prance Faris round off a static top three with Flares staying at No.3 whilst Swedish dansband Elisa's smash in at No.4 with new schlager anthem Linjen I Min Hand! Norwegian singer Nora Foss Al-Jabri's Melodi Grand Prix entry Somewhere Beautiful rounds off the top five, climbing a place to No.5! Lana Del Rey goes straight to the top of the album chart with Born To Die, narrowly seeing off last week's No.1, the Melodi Grand Prix 2012 compilation, which slides to No.2...Kelly Clarkson's Stronger dips to No.3, Ed Sheeran's + is back up to No.4 and Steps stay at No.5 with The Ultimate Collection!

Thanks Tom, bloody brilliant snap top 2, these songs are AMAZING! Apparently Linjen I Min Hand means 'Line In My Hand', bizarre thing to sing about :mellow: Overflow would have been an excellent entry, but songs like that never win national finals :( Wild Ones is really good but it's no Titanium - can you imagine a slowed down Part II, Sia wailing about shutting down tha club in ballad form :lol: The Destination probably isn't as good as The Storm but I do really like it. Tonight is really good too, like Sia Saint Etienne's first #1 in my chart was in 2000 - with Paul Van Dyk on Tell Me Why (The Riddle) :heart: Before long they'll be collaborating with Pitbull!

 

Have you heard my #18 song, Emma Lewin - No Excuses, she's the brunette from Sheelah gone solo, it sounds a lot like the lost third Sheelah single actually, but I don't love it as much as Psycho or The Last Time, well worth a listen though!

Hi Rich :D I've really come round to Ed Sheeran these past few days since seeing the brilliant video for 'Drunk'. It's his best single for me but I'm starting to like his album and even 'The A Team' now (I was told today that it was about drugs, I had no idea :lol:).

 

I'll give Lana's album a listen next week, so far she seems decent but too overrated to really love her that much.

 

 

My guess is that so far they only look for stuff from some kind of list they've been given by labels, film studios and such, who support SOPA?

Hey Jack, woo, pleased to hear that as I know how against The A Team you used to be, how did you not know it was about drugs? :o The Drunk video is either his best or second best yet, but Lego House was pretty great too - he's very creative. I thought that Drunk might be a minor flop for him in my chart following the three #1's but that video has helped it well on its way, made the song really click with me! :wub:

 

Lana's album is really good but I can't see it being a long running #1 for me, I guess I knew too many of the songs already a la Le Kid.
