I agree Eric, I have no idea why Airplanes Part 2, Love The Way You Lie Part 2 were album only, I believe both could have EASILY been top 5 hits, especially LTWYL. Read All About It part 3 could go top 20 if it's not album only.

Edit: It's not album only in Ireland

Yeah. Perhaps with Airplanes and LTWYL, they were scared the two versions would smash at the same times and the sons would end up overexposed (more than they already were).

It looks like it'll be downloadable though, if it is in Ireland. But it's only #53 there, so maybe it'll miss the top 40 here. But if it gets in, Emeli could have 3 songs from her album in the top 40, since Heaven will surely climb too.

RIP Whitney. "I Will Always Love You" will surely go top 10, "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" won't be far off.
whitney houston - i wanna dance with somebody (2000 remaster) #739

I went to the Carribean on holiday once, and there was a cover version/remix of I Wanna Dance With Somebody which was all over the radio there at the time (along with Hips Don't Lie and Unfaithful)! It was a really, really good cover or remix or whatever it was, but I've NEVER been able to find it since. :( I still go on a hunt for it on Youtube every few months. I don't think I'll ever find it tbh. I imagine it must've been done by a local artist from the island if it's so difficult to find on the Internet.

434. Next to Me - Emeli Sandé

452. I Should Have Kissed You - One Direction

RIP Whitney :(

Think Whitney might get No.1 this week?

I can't see it to be honest, if Micheal Jackson only got to #2 when he died. I can see 'I Will Always Love You' going top 10 at least though.

I think MJ had more competition though? Cascada (as embarrassing as that is lol)

I'd love How Will I Know to get some resurgence, that's my favourite. All classics though. Truly sad :(

MJ died in the middle of the week, Whitney's has been announced one hour into the sales week.

The thing is One Direction obviously have an advantage as the album is #02 on the album chart meaning people know the song is out etc.
Whitney already has 23 songs in the US iTunes Top 1000, so I'm sure the UK will have plenty sometime later Sunday

Whitney Update:

312. I Wanna Dance With Somebody (2000 Remaster)

358. I Will Always Love You (2000 Remaster)

493. I Will Always Love You

I Will Always Love You is already #28 there. But I guess because of timezones they're all awake. Most people in the UK probably don't know yet. :(

There is a big diffrence between Michael Jackson making "only" number 2,

and Whitney now.

First, Michael had much bigger archive to choose from.

He didn't have "one song" that got all the sales.

He also died in the middle of the week.

And people bought his albums.

With Whitney It's definitely going to be "I will always love you",

It sold 1,300,000 copies in the time for god sake

it's one of the biggest selling singles ever.

And she dies on sunday very early. so all sales into this week.

It will be top 3 at least this week.

Ooh. I wonder if people will be mad if David Guetta or Gotye prevent Whitney from getting a posthumous number 1, just like the ridiculous over reaction Cascada got for preventing Michael from getting one.

Gotye is Year End top 10 hit, so it's much more worthy than Cascada.

Also Cascada is trash pop and gotye is more sophisticated music.
