February 13, 201213 yr Author No, there was an album I wanted to buy and it was 2 for £10, so I tried to find another 2 for £10 album, that being David Guetta's One Love, so I didn't have to pay a few quid extra. :D I think Tony was making a flippant comment Liam!

February 14, 201213 yr Author 76. IRON MAN (OST)- AC/DC (311,000) http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/0d/Acdcironman.jpg RELEASED: 18:04:10 PEAK POSITION: 1 WKS ON CHART: 21 CHARTING TRACKS: NONE Providing them with only their third chart topper in 30+ years in the charts, the music of AC/DC was a passion of director Jon Favreau whose new film “Iron Man 2” was due for release and orchestrated what was in effect a “greatest hits” of sorts as the soundtrack to that film. It overturned a midweek disadvantage to Paul Weller to triumph by just over 4 k in the end. 2cqU2GjYw8M
February 14, 201213 yr Author 75. SOMEONE TO WATCH OVER ME- Susan Boyle (313,400) http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/a/ae/SomeonetoWatchOverMe.jpg RELEASED: 6:11:11 PEAK POSITION: 1 WKS ON CHART: 8 CHARTING TRACKS: NONE Proving once again that you don’t necessarily need a hit single to sell an album, Boyle’s third album spent no time repeating the feat of her previous two and going straight to No 1 (albeit with a comparatively poor sale of 72k. With a track listing apparently chosen in response to letters from fans presumably asking for covers of Depeche Mode, Tears for Fears, and the Righteous Brothers, something original is present though including a track penned by ABBA writers Ulvaeus/ Andersson. sBEUnFqSLIg
February 14, 201213 yr Author 74. PLASTIC BEACH- Gorillaz (314,200) http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/d/d1/Plasticbeach452.jpg RELEASED: 07.03.10 PEAK POSTION: 2 WKS ON CHART: 27 CHARTING TRACKS: DONCAMATIC (37) In a repeat of the Kasabian situation (following on from previously very big selling albums), this was the third album from studio project Groillaz who were in the position of following up the 1.7 million selling “Demon Days” back in 2010. They chose to release the album in the same week as the first Boyzone studio album in 12 years, there was only going to be one winner and the band lost out by over 26k, overall sales however have been just a shadow the previous efforts. 04mfKJWDSzI
February 14, 201213 yr I'm still waiting for Susan's "sexual awakening" album. She'd do well on songs like Slave 4 U and Motivation and I figure that she could totally tap into the "sexually frustrated octogenerian" market as well as exposing her music to a younger audience. She needs to re-invent herself to stay relevant!
February 15, 201213 yr Fraid not- though when the top 200 for 2011 arrives we might get more of an inkling. thanks anyway, will see when they come out but not sure if they'll just miss it this year
February 15, 201213 yr I love Plastic Beach, their best imo. Definitely, as an album it's a much more cohesive and consistent body of work than their previous two, even if its highs aren't quite as good as 'Feel Good Inc.' and 'Clint Eastwood'.
February 15, 201213 yr Author 73. DELETED SCENES FROM THE CUTTING ROOM FLOOR- Caro Emerald (314,600) http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/b/bb/Deleted_Scenes_from_the_Cutting_Room_Floor_cover.png RELEASED: 17:10:10 PEAK POSITION: 4 WKS ON CHART: 34 CHARTING TRACKS: A NIGHT LIKE THIS (65) The best selling album of 2010 in her native Holland, Emerald didn’t quite manage that feat here, but still very respectable sales for her debut set thanks in part to appearances on Strictly and Jools Holland (no pun intended). In Holland no album has spent as long in the top 10 as this has, overtaking the record set by Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” back in September. 74LXx0wSqMI
February 15, 201213 yr Author 72. THE SUBURBS- Arcade Fire (319,900) http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/f/f7/Arcade_Fire_-_The_Suburbs.png RELEASED: 01:08:10 PEAK POSITION: 1 WKS ON CHARTS: 30 CHARTING TRACKS: READY TO START (67) WE USED TO WAIT (75) Managing to go one place better than 2008’s “Neon Bible” this set became the Canadian Indie band’s first chart topper in 2010. To accompany that triumph the album picked up both a grammy and BRIT victory to consolidate the critical acclaim they received which finally translated into reasonable sales in the UK. LEWn2a9HuXc
February 15, 201213 yr Author 71. APHRODITE- Kylie Minogue (323,300) http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/e/e6/Kylie_Minogue_-_Aphrodite.jpg RELEASED: 04:07:10 PEAK POSITION: 1 WKS ON CHART: 29 CHARTING SINGLES: ALL THE LOVERS (3) GET OUTTA MY WAY (12) BETTER THAN TODAY (32) When this hit No 1 it became not only her fifth chart topping album but enabled Minogue to become the only act to date to have a No 1 album in each of the last 4 decades. Lead single “All The Lovers” returned her to the top 3 for the first time in 6 years and producers Stuart Price and Calvin Harris helped give her a makeover for 2010. Minogue utilised some big names writers for the album, Cruz even wrote “Higher” for the album but due to time constraints it didn’t make the cut. 8XK1Ni9jFTQ
February 15, 201213 yr 71. APHRODITE- Kylie Minogue (323,300) http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/e/e6/Kylie_Minogue_-_Aphrodite.jpg Of course, I own this album, and it's absolutly fantastic! All the Lovers is such a great lead single, I'm sure it would have reached number one if the digital download and CD were released on the same week
February 15, 201213 yr Definitely, as an album it's a much more cohesive and consistent body of work than their previous two, even if its highs aren't quite as good as 'Feel Good Inc.' and 'Clint Eastwood'. For me it's nowhere near as coherent as "Demon Days"! :o Oh and just a minor thing Gezza, "Doncamatic" wasn't on the album. It makes me more than slightly annoyed that my favourite album of the decade so far finished behind "Aphrodite". However, at least it made the list unlike my next few favourites.
February 15, 201213 yr Author Oh and just a minor thing Gezza, "Doncamatic" wasn't on the album. Wikipedia (yes I know) says it is on the November 2010 re-release of the album?!
February 15, 201213 yr Wikipedia (yes I know) says it is on the November 2010 re-release of the album?! Ah, you're right it was on a download-only re-release. I was going off "Doncamatic"'s Wiki page where it didn't have an attached album in the info pane
February 15, 201213 yr Of course, I own this album, and it's absolutly fantastic! All the Lovers is such a great lead single, I'm sure it would have reached number one if the digital download and CD were released on the same week I am sure it would have too. The record company just royally screwed up the whole campaign. Unbelievable.
February 15, 201213 yr Of course, I own this album, and it's absolutly fantastic! All the Lovers is such a great lead single, I'm sure it would have reached number one if the digital download and CD were released on the same week In its first week it was 35k behind "Shout", it would have come nowhere near even with a simultaneous release. And the week it was #3 it was even further behind, Katy Perry (in her second week as well) was 40k ahead.
