There is a big diffrence between Michael Jackson making "only" number 2,

and Whitney now.

First, Michael had much bigger archive to choose from.

He didn't have "one song" that got all the sales.

He also died in the middle of the week.

And people bought his albums.

 

With Whitney It's definitely going to be "I will always love you",

It sold 1,300,000 copies in the time for god sake

it's one of the biggest selling singles ever.

 

And she dies on sunday very early. so all sales into this week.

 

It will be top 3 at least this week.

RIP Whitney, but I Will Always Love You to me has always been one of the most overrated songs of all time :( I've always liked I Wanna Dance With Somebody though so pleased to see it charting high, just a shame about the occasion.

Re; Whitney Houston 'I Will Always Love You' and 'I Wanna Dance With Somebody' are her two biggest hits so it's not surprising to see them looking set to be the highest re entries next week.

No sign of Count On Me and I Learned From The Best is only #457, those were two of my personal favourites. The only other Whitney songs I have on my iPod are her excellent string of 1998/1999 releases, I Wanna Dance With Somebody and a couple of Million Dollar Bill remixes. Very sad to hear of her passing though, r.i.p :(

Hopefully Whitney will stop DJ Fresh from getting #1! It's an good song but not #1 worthy!
