Rather to my surprise, I found one buried in the depths of my iPod (MLIYL).

When I buy old Now albums second-hand, I tend to rip them straight off, taking very little notice of what else is on thre apart from the ones I like. That must have been how that Whitney song got on there.

Anyway, i thought it might be interesting to see who owned some of her songs *before* she died...

I have just CD's, her first two albums and the 2000 Greatest Hits and also Ultimate Collection.

I previously had 1 (Million Dollar Bill) thanks to a NOW compilation - and I have just bought "I Will Always Love You", one of the most emotional ballads ever - just have to have it

I already had a lot of her singles due to my mum having bought Whitney's Greatest Hits back in 2000 - it's a very comprehensive release! I also bought the singles from 'Look To You' back in 2009.

I don't intend on downloading anything due to the above!

The only more modern Whitney single I don't have is 'Whatchulookinat', and I never liked that one. I just checked, and i's only #864 on iTunes Pop, so it seems not many are considering that track either.

1. I Wanna Dance With Somebody - on Hits 6 vinyl, Hits 6 cd and Now 1987.

I am about to buy none.

I had 6-10 on there previously, and have just downloaded her 2000 Greatest Hits to plug the gaps.

My Love Is Your Love never featured on a Now album by the way :P Must have got on there some other way!

I bought her Ultimte Collection greatest hits a couple of years ago, of which I have about 15 on my ipod plus Million Dollar Bill and Nothin' But Love (they really should have pushed that as a single IMO). The only song I have bought since has been I Look To You. I had been planning on getting it for a while but I only really got the motivation to get it after all of this. It really makes me tear up when I listen to it now. It was emotional enough before she passed away.

If I see physical copies of her albums on sale for cheap then I will try to get them all like I did MJ (well I only got the albums from Off The Wall onwards, I can't be bothered with any of the albums before then tbh).

It seems to have been on 'Huge Hits 99'.

It seems to have been on 'Huge Hits 99'.

Ok fair enough, I'll give you that! Thought you might have 'accidentally' downloaded it as a cherry pick at some point :P

But I have Huge Hits 99 on my iPod too and it is indeed on there.

1. I Have Nothing

About to buy none. I'm skint plus I have no real desire to buy any atm.

Looking at my Media player I have 8

I Have Nothing

Queen Of the Night (Why isn't this on more?!)

I'm Every Woman

Saving All My Love for You

The Greatest Love of All

Run To You

My Love is Your Love

I want to Dance with with Somebody

But I probably have I Will Always Love You, Step by Step and Its not all Right but its OK on tapes somewhere.

As to whether I'll buy more, maybe 3 to 5. I need to think about it, maybe Moment in Time and How Will I Know. That or I'll get the greatest hits in town today

EDIT: Found I Want to Dance with Somebody on my MP3 player

I have the greatest hits from 2000 so I shan't be investing in any more. She was great until 1992 then the whole bodyguard era just spoilt it

I only have CDs; I don't do cherry-picking unless I'm desperate to get a track.

Anyway, I believe my Whitney collection only goes this far:

Albums:

My Love Is Your Love

The Ultimate Collection

Singles:

When You Believe (w/Mariah Carey) [second-hand copy]

Extras (songs not included on above albums/singles):

It Isn't, It Wasn't, It Ain't Never Gonna Be (w/Aretha Franklin) (from "Jewels In The Crown")

It's Not Right But It's Okay [Thunderpuss Mix] (from "Massive Dance 2000")

Million Dollar Bill [Frankie Knuckles Radio Mix] (from "Now That's What I Call Music! 74")

Step By Step (from "New Hits 1997")

Try It On My Own (from "Essential R&B Love") (no idea what the hell this track is...)

And no, I won't be buying any more, unless I decide the absence of All The Man That I Need in my collection is literally killing me inside (so far, I appear to be surviving).

I own all her albums (plus the Greatest Hits) so LOTS. I really don't get the urge to rush out and buy someone's music just because they've died though, if I didn't care for it/them when alive I don't see how death is suddenly going to change my views.

I have:

All The Man I Need

How Will I Know

I'm Your Baby Tonight

I Have Nothing

I Wanna Dance With Somebody

Its Not Right But Its Okay

Million Dollar Bill

My Love Is Your Love

My Name Is Not Susan

Queen Of The Night

So I had 10 and am not planning on purchasing anymore.

I Have Nothing.........by her

whilst I Will Always Love You is quite personal to me, its not one of my all time favourites and I can't see myself listening to it much if I purchased it

My Love Is Your Love and Million Dollar Bill, not going to buy any.
I only had It's Not Right, But It's Okay and that was because it's on a compilation album. I've kinda been interested in buying her Greatest Hits collection for awhile so may invest in it this week but I'm not desperate for it just yet.
