February 14, 201214 yr I think she may have taken an overdose just so that she could sell more mp3s. No, it was obviously because she didn't want Adele to get the top 3 on US iTunes after her Grammy wins.
February 14, 201214 yr I hope MLIYL holds top 40. One of the only Whitney songs I really love. It was amazing back in 99 but I feel it gets overlooked these days.
February 14, 201214 yr Well, obviously Whitney is in a much better place now. She is definitely high up there.
February 14, 201214 yr I Look To You could get a new peak? It peaked at #115 and is 85 on that list! I saw that too. Fingers crossed it maintains a top 100 position by sunday. I hate seeing singles by big artists missing the top 100 (Britney's I Wanna Go is a prime example for me), it just messes up their entire discography (not to mention I think this is one of Whitney's best songs).
February 14, 201214 yr I cannot belive Madonna may fall out of top 40 on Sunday :o Where does everyone think this might peak when officially released in a few weeks?!
February 14, 201214 yr Author I cannot belive Madonna may fall out of top 40 on Sunday :o Where does everyone think this might peak when officially released in a few weeks?! Not really sure what's going to happen with the track, it seems like a lost cause now love to see it getting higher but the rap by Nicki Minaj is a bit too much in yer face, I don't mind the L.U.V. bit at the start of it. She is better off releasing a different track as a single.
February 14, 201214 yr I cannot belive Madonna may fall out of top 40 on Sunday :o Where does everyone think this might peak when officially released in a few weeks?! It already has been 'officially released'? The only thing that will get it higher is for it to be playlisted on Radio 1 and thats looking unlikely!
February 14, 201214 yr I cannot belive Madonna may fall out of top 40 on Sunday :o Where does everyone think this might peak when officially released in a few weeks?! I don't think its gonna do very well and unlikely to be top40 by sunday. Its a weak comeback single and sounds dated and the rap just doesnt work well with Madonna. I'm a big Madonna fan but have gone off her in recent years since she did hard candy.
February 15, 201214 yr I agree with all the above comments and im not really a big fan of it either but if someone had told me Madonna's new comeback single wouldnt peak inside the top 10 o would never have believed it.
February 15, 201214 yr How GMAYL is not a single? The label has paid for airplay and it has a video. It is a single, but a physical release is coming up. With official release I think he meant the physical release.
February 15, 201214 yr It is a single, but a physical release is coming up. With official release I think he meant the physical release. there is no UK physical release
February 15, 201214 yr there is no UK physical release This is what I have: "ALSO DETAILS OF PHYSICAL SINGLE RELEASE DATE: 'GMAYL' 2 Track Single, release date and updates! MadonnaTribe has an exclusive update about the upcoming CD single for Madonna's "Give Me All Your Luvin'", including some fresh info straight from Universal Music. The release date. As reported first on this news page yesterday, online retailers started listing a physical single for "Give Me" wilth a release date of February 24. Yesterday we anticipated that the release is likely to be slightly pushed back. In fact, MadonnaTribe understands that the CD pressing will start next week, making the timeframe for a February release tight. But don't worry, we can expect the single to hit the stores on March 5th in the countries where CDs are released on Mondays. The tracklisting. As already reported here first the 2-track single will include the "Party Rock Remix" feat. LMFAO as its b-side. The "2 Titres". Although the 2-track CD single format has been a French classic for the Madonna collectors among the years in its signature "2 titres" carboard sleeve format, Polydor will not release "Give Me All Your Luvin'" as a physical single in France. The Maxi CD. In our report yesterday we said we were keeping our finger crossed for a remixes-filled CD Maxi. And that is it, because at the present time Interscope does NOT have a plan to release a Maxi, although they have a set of remixes ready to be serviced to clubs. Thanks to Polydor / Interscope / Universal Music Group. "
February 15, 201214 yr I agree with all the above comments and im not really a big fan of it either but if someone had told me Madonna's new comeback single wouldnt peak inside the top 10 o would never have believed it. I agree...its surprising how badly this has done given its a fresh new song from Madonna but I suppose it may climb yet if radio play picks up.
February 15, 201214 yr There is literally no buzz around Madonna's new song at all atm, so I'm not surprised its doing so badly, that and that it sounds like a rejected b-side :P Edited February 15, 201214 yr by C.W
February 15, 201214 yr Author Emeli Sande really deserves that #1 album spot, beautiful voice & album! Hopefully we find out soon :D
February 15, 201214 yr Author Midweek Charts: Sande living up to Brit Awards promise Source: MW 15:50 | Wednesday February 15, 2012 By Paul Williams Emeli Sande will pick up her Brits Critics’ Choice award next week as a chart-topping artist as her debut album Our Version Of Events heads to number one in the UK. The newly-issued Virgin album is currently outselling its two nearest challengers combined having clocked up around 66,000 copies by the end of Tuesday, according to the Official Charts Company. At the same time her cut Next To Me is likely to debut at two on the singles chart behind another new entry, Ministry of Sound act DJ Fresh’s Hot Right Now featuring Rita Ora. Sande’s albums success will end the chart-topping run of Polydor act Lana Del Rey after two weeks. Born To Die is the second top seller of the week so far, although it is only about 3,000 sales ahead of XL’s Adele album 21, which has had a 341% lift in sales following her six Grammy wins. It moves 5-3 in the midweeks, while its predecessor 19 climbs 23-11 with a 218% sales boost. Island act Gotye follows his number one single Somebody That I Used To Know with album Making Mirrors currently showing up as a new entry at four as Asylum/Atlantic act Ed Sheeran competes the top five with + dropping 4-5. Having debuted at number two last Sunday, Mercury act Maverick Sabre’s introductory set Lonely Are The Brave is now down to sixth position in the new chart week, while RCA act Rebecca Ferguson’s Heaven moves 16-8 with sales improving 224%, Island/Lava’s Jessie J album Who You Are drops 7-9 and Hearmusic/Mercury’s Paul McCartney album Kisses On The Bottom falls 3-10. A wave of tribute buying following Whitney Houston’s sudden death continues to impact the midweeks, led on the albums listings by the Sony-issued The Greatest Hits re-entering in seventh place. The Essential Whitney Houston returns in 70th position. However, the singer’s back catalogue is making its biggest mark on the singles market with I Will Always Love You in 10th place leading 13 of her hits back into the Top 75 as it presently stands. Those returning also include I Wanna Dance With Somebody in 14th place, One Moment In Time at 29 and My Love Is Your Love at 30. With a lead up until the end of Tuesday of more than 16,000 units, DJ Fresh should secure a second number one single this Sunday following 2011’s Louder. As Sande appears set to arrive in second place, Gotye featuring Kimbra’s Somebody That I Used To Know drops down to number three, having debuted at one last Sunday. Its slip in the rankings is despite its sales rising 30% on the week. Outside the top two, there are no other brand new entries showing up among the Top 40 positions. However, Syco act One Direction should leap into the Top 10 this Sunday with One Thing. Having been in 26th place last Sunday, it is the eighth top seller this week so far with sales rising 214%. ========================================================= Wednesday Update Top 40 Only Source: Radio 1/OCC Singles N/E 1 DJ Fresh/Rita Ora (16k ahead) N/E 2 Emile Sande 3 Gotye/Kimbra 4 David Guetta/Sia 5 Flo Rida/Sia R/E 10 Whitney Houston [iWALY] R/E 14 Whitney Houston [iWDWS] R/E 29 Whitney Houston [OMIT] R/E 30 Whitney Houston [MLIYL] R/E 34 Whitney Houston [iHN] =================================================== Albums N/E Emile Sande (66k) 2 Lana Del Rey (3k ahead) 3 Adele N/E 4 Gotye 5 Ed Sheeran R/E 7 Whitney [GHs] R/E 28 Will Young R/E 31 Michael Buble R/E 32 Beyonce R/E 35 Frank Sinatra N/E 39 Field Music R/E 40 Bee Gees [#1s]
