On the flip side, I can't see songs like Azari & III, Pretty Life or Under Your Spell winning at all. Prepared to go bankrupt at some point this month, though, because of the closeness.

Oh dear, possibly my worst odds ever I think (except for Ben Folds). Hopefully the fact it seems to be a very close contest may spring a few surprises! :D

Typical, the one month I miss the opening of the confirmations and my only choice is taken, and is now flying ahead in all the odds. :(

I don't mind the poor odds for Lover - I'll just be pleased if it qualifies. So seriously obsessed with Loreen - Euphoria at the moment that it's sucked all of my inspiration dry!

 

It's a really good song actually, although nothing at all like Why Start A Fire, it's almost like listening to different artists! I realised that I've had the song on my iTunes for over a year as part of Absolute Music 65, but apparently I hadn't actually listened to it before despite that :lol: I'd like to see it scrape into the top ten.

 

The odds for pretty much every song are all over the place, with the exception of Laleh and Emma, which look like a fairly comfortable top two at the moment. I'm wondering how much of that is based on pre-contest hype/confirmation fights though. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see something come from nowhere and dark horse it this month.

I hope Not Fooling Around isn't too subtle to qualify. You'll recall that I said it was ok on the first listen or something similar in your chart thread but it's only by the 6th or 7th listen that I really started to get quite into it :lol: Crept into the back end of my chart last week and should climb quite a bit in my next one.

 

This contest has more growers than instant tracks imo, nothing wrong with that, I've just needed to devote quite a few more listens to the tracks than I usually do to be able to vote fairly!

I was never that fussed on Still Alive and I'm still not to be honest, Nonsuch's tracks used to come under increased subconscious scrutiny from me purely because of the hyperbole Rich used to spin around them before revealing his entry. Needless to say I was almost always underwhelmed when I heard the 'new best pop song of the decade' :lol:
