March 10, 201213 yr FOOKIN HELL, those figures are phenomenal - I guess Danny was never gonna be anywhere near Loreen, but 400k is certainly nothing to turn your nose up at. I really hope Danny keeps trying, but coming 2nd twice, and 3rd once must be pretty disheartening. So close but yet never quite making it, even with a song like Amazing. :( Whichever record company released If Only You last year need to get on the case with Amazing quickly and push it in the UK properly, it may not have won MF but it has all of the hallmarks of a huge UK hit, and then some, but only if it could somehow get Radio 1 on side. He got Radio 2 on side last year but they're hardly hitmakers :(
March 10, 201213 yr Author If even a tenth of the people that voted for Loreen to win MF downloaded Euphoria, it would pretty much become the biggest selling single ever in Sweden  I think Främling did surprisingly well in Sweden, and that's the biggest selling song ever there so far as I know (or that might just be the album) - but a staggering 86% of the Swedish population watched Eurovision 1983 (the streets must have been abandoned!) so it must be up there!

March 10, 201213 yr 'Amazing' will probably be given the Kate Ryan 'Je T'Adore' treatment and given an extremely low key UK release in about 8 months time.

Every year I see some hilarious picutres of empty streets taken by some odd soul wandering the streets of Stockholm whilst the final is on. It genuinely is too huge to compare it to anything in the UK. Only on Christmas Day would the streets be that empty here. Completely agree with this, I fully expect 'Euphoria' to do well after Eurovision in the UK - and I think 'Amazing' really would be popular in the UK, but I can't see it ever seeing the light of day here. I hope so, I'd love them both to be huge hits but what was the last real Scandipop smash here? Release Me, three years ago? :/ Titanium more than anything proved once and for all that even the greatest songs need mass exposure to have any chance of smashing here. 'Amazing' will probably be given the Kate Ryan 'Je T'Adore' treatment and given an extremely low key UK release in about 8 months time. Wouldn't surprise me at all. It will become a Starz/Dance Nation favourite and that's about it. Also; 6sG8h1EUKew I don't get why Sarah Dawn Finer has haters? She defines amazing. How does a Swede manage such a spot on interpretation of the Essex accent?
March 10, 201213 yr I really want to start learning Swedish, and move to Sweden and everything - it just seems like such an amazing place.
March 10, 201213 yr Oh, forget this - Rich has already posted it! SARAH'S SKETCH, AMAZING. Edited March 10, 201213 yr by ROBOT
March 10, 201213 yr I really want to start learning Swedish, and move to Sweden and everything - it just seems like such an amazing place. I have a Swedish phrase book and dictionary but I'm so slow at picking up more than a few words. I can understand most of MF but only because it's so obvious what they're saying! I don't think I'd move there as it's bloody freezing for a good chunk of the year but I'd love to visit more often.

March 10, 201213 yr I'm afraid I didn't really get the SDF sketch. I'm probably missing something very obvious, but why was she speaking with an Essex accent?

I don't think I'd move there as it's bloody freezing for a good chunk of the year but I'd love to visit more often. Even without a phrasebook or dictionary I have a good understanding of MF. I agree that it is quite obvious what they are saying as well. I am not sure if it is because it is reality tv though, or because quite a lot of what is said is shown as text on screen, and from seeing it written makes it much easier to understand.
March 10, 201213 yr It's surprising how often English is spoken during MF too, can you imagine bursts of Swedish every now and then during The X Factor? No, me neither
March 10, 201213 yr I really want to start learning Swedish, and move to Sweden and everything - it just seems like such an amazing place. I'm studying Swedish through French and it's easy enough. Learning it through English is a lot easier. The grammar is basically the same and it makes perfect sense. You definitely should do it if there's a course near you! Even the website www.sfi.halmstad.se offers really good basics. We used it a lot in uni and it's a great place to start.
March 10, 201213 yr I'm afraid I didn't really get the SDF sketch. I'm probably missing something very obvious, but why was she speaking with an Essex accent? Maybe the Swedish were mocking British TV presenters. Well, after watching one hour of Loose Woman can you blame them? :D I thought it was funny purely because I've spoken to a couple of people who struggle to pronounce Azerbaijan.
March 11, 201213 yr f*** yes! Amazing to see her win with such a margin and such huge figures. :o Poor Danny! From what I've read on here, he must be gutted to know that in most other years he would have walked away with it, with the amount of votes he got!
March 11, 201213 yr Author I thought it was funny as it mocked how patronising and useless anyone from the UK would be if they ran the EBU!
