August 20, 201212 yr It's such an interesting album  . It only initially has a few stand out tracks but then when you listen to it more, tracks like 30 Minute Love Affair really shine. It's really frustrating for a fan to see her album probably would've got #1 status last week, and 30 Minute Love Affair would have probably made top 40 if the songs from the Olympics (and Emeli's album) didn't push her down, but it's the sales that count I guess. Wiki have "Just Be" listed as the next single. I quite like it but I don't know how it will do after 30MLA but it seems like one of those tracks that if it gets heavily promoted, people will relate to it and it will hang around for a while.
October 13, 201212 yr So the 3rd single is "Never Tear Us Apart" dCYtesyE7OA It's quite nice really, I prefer Picking Up The Pieces and 30 Minute Love Affair though. Just Be really has to be a single at some point!!! It's stunning!!! Glad this is doing well so far. Always happy to see Paloma get a top 40 single. Edited October 13, 201212 yr by cookie_monster
October 13, 201212 yr '30 Minute Love Affair' randomly hit me the other day. I really like it now! Maybe I should give the album another, proper go...
October 13, 201212 yr Is this era successful or not? "Blood Sweat & Tears" and "Agony" are screaming to be singles though.
October 13, 201212 yr Yeah. Well I'd say it was successful enough. It got her, her first, proper, lengthy top 40 "hit" and her first Top 3 album, all with decent sales when all things are considered.
October 13, 201212 yr Yeah this has been big for her as regards being more accepted by the ~mainstream~ I think. The album should have a really lovely sales number by the end of the campaign.
October 15, 201212 yr I literally love 30 minute Love Affair acoustic, so much better than the album version
March 8, 201312 yr The next single is 'Black & Blue' and it has a video. Obviously it won't do anything in the charts but I'm really fond of this song and video! 0IovbIpZHgU
June 8, 201312 yr Bit of a bump here but I just got back from seeing her live at the O2, she was absolutely fantastic! Just Be really stood out for me but I also loved 30 Minute Love Affair, Never Tear Us Apart, Agony, Picking Up the Pieces and When You're Gone. Her vocals were on top form. :D My only criticism is the lack of Upside Down but I can't complain, she did 20 songs as it is, including four covers (!). (oh and Laura Mvula was supporting and was just as amazing)
