I can see Niggas in Paris entering the top 10 soon as its not too far behind Stooshe who will inevitabely drop when SHM overtake them.

I really hope it doesnt do an All of the Lights!

Kanye is unlucky with his singles, but what's more shocking is how his last album performed in the UK. It really was criminally ignored!!!

Climax is going to be a hit, isin't it :(

Very likely. But I'm more worried about She Doesn't Mind becoming a hit, awful song -_-

I'm actually quite surprised there's no fake versions of Conor Maynard's single in there, considering it's a near-certainty for #1.

She Doesn't Mind, in my opinion, is poor compared to most of Sean Paul's discography. He has a long list of classics, but She Doesn't Mind won't be added to that list imo. It's a bit of a non-event. Got 2 Luv U was insanely catchy at least.

I hope Climax is a big hit, but I can't see it happening. It just seems too good to be true. I wouldn't think the UK public would enjoy it very much, since it's not very loud or fast.

She Doesn't Mind is really good IMO, far better than 'Got 2 Luv U'. Hope it's a hit for him.

Surprised to see a fake version of 'Let's Go' showing up already. Hope it can finally give Calvin a second #1 as a lead artist after two #2s and two #3s. Ne-Yo is due a #1 this year after all as he normally has one every two years (he broke that by getting one last year as well but shush).

'Fever' to be a hit? :o I do really like that song but it's not an obvious hit at all. (Although I guess after Redlkight got a top 20 hit it makes sense somewhat).

Woah at the fake Fever showing up :o
I know you were joking anyway. But do you think it will be one band that will do it? I would imagine, if it ever happens, it would be a case of maybe the pop songs using more guitars in, then indie/alternative artists gradually getting bigger hits, and then rock bands gradually getting bigger hits after that. And nobody would be able to pin-point the particular artist/song that brought it back.

Historically it has always been framed as being one band that breaks a genre into (or back into) the mainstream - The Libertines are seen as the band that kick-started the British 00s rock, The Strokes are portrayed as bringing indie back into focus, whilst Suede get the credit for kick-starting the Britpop scene. However, at the time there were other bands having similar levels of success that don't seem to have been seen in such a positive light in hindsight when they had just as much a part of starting the phases they were associated with. Perhaps it's just part of human nature to place the start of a movement on 'one' artist, when it's more than likely that a number of artists and movements contributed to it's mainstream acceptance.

Yeah. Those are good points actually. One reason for that might be because one particular band gets a massive obsessed fanbase and then all their fans will claim that their favourite band brought around the musicial movement, and eventually the media will start reporting that as the case and people who don't know any better will believe it. I've never witnessed a rock revival in my lifetime before (or at least, not in my memory), so I'm just speculating there.

the SHM video could work just as well as an extended advert :P its nice to see an instrumental in the chart though, its far better than Antidote

All music videos are adverts. Hence the name 'promo video'.

 9. Greyhound - Swedish House Mafia

Random thought: this must be one of the longest songs (at 6 minutes 51 seconds) to ever make the iTunes top 10 surely? It's the longest track in the whole of the top 200 :o

The nearest example I can think of is 'History Makers' by Delirious?, which clocked in at 6 minutes 37s.

They mean for vodka. Basically every second shot in the video is of vodka.

Wow what a surprise :D

It's more likely journalists who are generally fans of hyperbole. In years to come we'll probably hear that "Band X were the ones who saved rock 'n' roll" yet those of us who lived through it will realise it's never that simple. For every Strokes there's a White Stripes, a band who were arguably just as important in retrospect. Even Nirvana weren't the single-handed launchers of grunge into the mainstream that history seems to think they were.

I hope Call Me Maybe can become a hit, it was released in Ireland this week and it's at #4 on iTunes atm! :o Didn't expect it to even go top 40 so hopefully it'll be huge.

Let's Go should be pretty big too. I heard it first last Saturday and since then I've heard it on the radio at least twice a day. No joke.

theyve actually done an hour segment with alex on radio 1 xD in fact they like played snippets from her album tracks off overcome too
