Bit off topic here but has anyone noticed how physical cds in hmv and other stores have incresed slightly in price since xmas - most new albums are now 10 pound on the button instead of 7-9 quid.is it something to do with the removal of jerseys position of vat free imports from 1st april which means amazons cds will be normally priced?
So when someone pre orders a single and the time for release arrives e.g. 12:00 am do they receive the single straight away at the specfic time or do they have to download it again as normal?

I was under the impression it automatically downloads once they open iTunes... Not 100% though, because I've never pre-ordered off iTunes...

I really, REALLY hope that Katy can stay ahead of JLS. She'll surely catch Sean Paul.

It doesn't. If you log onto your iTunes account after midnight it will tell you a download is available, but you manually have to click OK to get it. I've learnt this to my horror having ended up paying for the same thing twice because I didn't wait for the message and just downloading for it.

Where is the benefit of pre ordering then?

I know some EP's/albums have exclusive tracks if you pre-order. But apart from that, I see no benefit because they'll be available regardless anyway.

and it's pointless waiting until midnight to download as well because the single or singles will be there to download anytime of the day

I've always thought it was a stupid system.

When is We Are Young going to be released it deserves be massive

Which version - I see two mentioned?

I think its going to be close between Katy/ JLS - her performance on Lets Dance was crap - especially at the start.

JLS had a very powerful trail to their performance + will have big promo come friday with the SR programme.

Ah, but JLS *only* have looks, wheras Katy has looks *and* talent...

I have another reason to resent rip-off cover versions - if there's an existing song in the iTunes chart with the same title as the *real* song, my spreadsheet cannot recognise the proper version as a new entry - so I have to manually search for them. :(

It's early to tell but it's so funny to see JLS as the lowest runners so far when so many of us suspected that they'd be landsliding.

Labrinth is my favourite of the 4, but I hope he misses #1 because it is much worse than 'Earthquake' and it would be chart injustice if 'Last Time' made it to the top. Hopefully Katy Perry can go to #1 even though her song is one of her worst of the 'Teenage Dream' era. I don't think I could take another JLS song flying straight to #1 :puke: Even better would be if Gotye could stay on top but with 3 MASSIVE new entries there isn't much chance of that happening either.

Last Time is my favourite of the new entries as well- it isn't brilliant, mind, but a listenable enough dance track. That said it is hideously generic, lacking most of the things which made Earthquake such a great dance song.
