The song didn't even make top 20 here. :huh: It didn't have a lot of radio support.

 

Well, apparently, she's doing a radio tour in the US, and obviously, when you do interviews on radio stations, they playlist your song, and then more radio stations play it, so more people buy it. I wouldn't be surprised if the song enters the Hot 100 this week!

Looks like it's getting a nice top 10 effect! Brilliant to see it FINALLY getting in there, hopefully it won't now do a 'Written In The Stars' and peak top 10 on Digital Songs but #12 on the Hot 100... (I've probably jinxed that now :kink: But I think she should go top 10 on the H100 as her airplay is still rapidly increasing).

I actually laughed out loud when I saw Ellie at 7. I shouldn't be surprised anymore but I always am. So proud of her.

Lights is the most unexpected US hit in a long time, it barely charted here and it's far from her best work (imo).

Lights is my favourite Ellie tune. Actually, I love Human and Home, but out of potential singles, Lights is my favourite.

I hate to sound like a wet blanket but I really hope this does something for the album. All the renewed interest/airplay in the song and the high chart positions, etc. but it's hardly done anything for the album, has it? She's the La Roux "Bulletproof" of 2012 :(

The album has been rising, we just have to see how high it gets!

Urgh. Can't believe that's the song that's going to break Ellie into the US market. Should have been 'The Writer' or 'Starry Eyed'. :( (Although I'm not a fan of the latter much, but it is her signature hit so it deserves to be her biggest WW hit) I do wish that she'd have skipped the singles and gone onto a different track from the album to breakthrough with though. *cough* 'believe me' *cough*

 

But nice to see yet another British act breakthrough though I guess. The Brits really are dominating lately! :o
