I'm glad I'm not alone in thinking 'The Swarm' sounds like a Lostprophets song! I do like it a lot based on the one listen on the chart show so I'm glad to see it holding up well.

It's quite similar to R U Mine? chartwise (not musically, just because it was released out of nowhere and entered the chart at #23 :P)

Very, I far prefer "R U Mine?" though. Best thing they've done since "Crying Lightning" IMO, it may grow even further.

Have you listened to "Bring 'Em Down" yet Bray? If not I urge you to, then you'll realise why I'm bitter about "The Swarm" doing so well :P

I did hear it the other day and I'm not a big fan on first listen I'm afraid :(

IIRC I didn't like 'It's Not The End Of The World But I Can See It From Here' at first either though and I ended up loving that.

Really hope Kanye & Jay-Z can get into the top 10 early enough that they stay in there this time. Great to see 'Ill Manors' doing well too. A possibility of it going top 5 with its EP and the few sales that'll be generated from the remixes, but given it'll probably need around 50k to get there it doesn't look too likely.

The fact you can buy it on Amazon (#70), and could on HMV and 7Digital but they've now been removed, shows how insignificant the rest of the sites are, certainly individually. iTunes really does dominate and people don't want to know anything else. No matter what people say on here, their market share really isn't decreasing at all. Knock-off versions of 'We Are Young' will sell far far more on iTunes than the actual version in other places.

I hope this keeps climbing and makes top 40 officially! Would be amazing for an amazing song! Should have been a single!

Plan B  #6

Potentially as high as it's going to get so WOO I guess. At least it hasn't missed the top 10 like it seemed to be threatening to, but still quite a disappointing showing after how well the EP pre-order did.

The Prodigy remix is #164. It's good to see it doing quite well, hopefully The Prodigy will have another successful era with album 6 which is supposed to be out this year :D Wasn't really expecting it out so soon, they do take their time to make new albums.

Last Train Home is Lostprophets best song by a country mile, everything else by the band pales in comparison. Having said that, I'd love to see them get another top 40 hit, they'd be a bit of fresh air in the chart (or they would be if YM@6 weren't there).

'Rooftops (A Liberation Broadcast)' is their best song IMO, with 'A Town Called Hypocrisy' a close second.

'Last Summer', 'Last Train Home', '4am Forever' and 'It's Not The End Of The World...' are good too. I did like 'Where We Belong' but I went off it when I realised how similar the chorus sounds to 'She Will Be Loved' by Maroon 5. A bit petty maybe.

I hated Rooftops when it came out, but I must re-evaluate it just in case I slated it for not being another 'Last Train Home'.

I used to love Lostprophets but they haven't released a song I've even come close to liking since 2004. The singles off 'Start Something' was an excellent run of singles, 'Last Summer' being my favourite of them.

I'm a bit of Lostprophets stan recently since "The Betrayed" was an alarming return to form IMO after they'd painted themselves into a bit of a corner with "Liberation Broadcast". The latter is still very good though, and probably more consistent than "Start Something". Favourites:

Burn Burn

Last Train Home

Last Summer

Rooftops

A Town Called Hypocrisy

Everyday Combat

Where We Belong

Dstryr/Dstryr

For He's A Jolly Good Felon

Darkest Blue

Bring 'Em Down

OOH Dstryr/Dstryr is very good as well. Just forgot about it because it wasn't a single.
oh, I never even knew the Lostprophets had a new album out until now :( I do quite like them though - Rooftops is far and away their best for me followed by Last Train Home, the rest of their material pales a bit but A Town Called Hypocrisy, Can't Catch Tomorrow & Where We Belong are all quite underrated

Does it matter that the Plan B is also listed in the albums chart - is that different sales or the same ones? So should stuff be being added (potentially putting it a lot higher) or ignored?

Any ideas - thanks.

Yes, the EP is added to the sales of the single but digital albums don't count for a huge amount - although it does help of course, it should be a little higher than iTunes potentially suggests when we get the first midweeks.
