presumably it's the next promo single. She really is churning them out but she does have a 22 song album!

There's always a risk in going for quantity over quality, though.

 41. Eyes Open - Taylor Swift

 100. Safe & Sound - Taylor Swift

S&S finally cracks the top 100. Even considering the artist behind it I was surprised it never got there before. Eyes Open is doing bizarrely well.

Taylor Swift.

I'm very surprised to see how long S&S has been available - it first made the iT chart on 30/12/11! I don't know how long the video has been out though - I've only seen it for the last week or two.

I love those latter two songs, but I could never really listen to Birdy or Taylor Swift. They're just too "sickly sweet" for me, and don't really get the adrenaline pumping for me like Niggas in Paris and T.H.E. do.

Personally, I like 'sickly sweet'.

As for adrenaline pumping, the two songs you mention do that for me, but not in a *good* way. For adrenaline pumping music, I prefer trance.

I'm not a crazy fan of Taylor Swift..I'm not a fan either.

<snip>

Furthermore, her music is not acceptable from the british audience because it's country..

I've never understood why the UK doesn't take to Country music - I've always liked it.

Combined Kworb Update

01 [01] (1.0000) Katy Perry - Part of Me

02 [02] (0.9145) Sean Paul - She Doesn't Mind

I'm surprised how close SP is getting, although since AIUI Katy's video is due to premiere today, she should make mincemeat of him after that...

Taylor Swift x2 and The Band Perry entering the top 100 within days of each other. Eww.

I'm not awfully surprised to see 'If I Die Young' performing decently now, I was surprised it never took off when it was released as a single a few weeks back. Odd that it's taken the album release to get it going.

You're not famous? Shocking. I think you'll find Jay Z and Kanye write their own lyrics and will.i.am produces his songs. Do you write your own songs..? Do you produce your own songs..? I THINK NOT. So, don't judge artists "like a baby" (?!) please.

Regardless of who I agree with, I'm really not paying attention, I have to comment on this.

In my opinion, Jay Z and Kanye have chosen to be musicians as a profession, that's their craft. As music listening members of the public, with opinions, we don't have to like their music, and we have every right to judge them if we don't like what they put out. Of course taste is subjective, but we have just as much right to judge musicians as we do teachers, politicians and journalists. If you decide on your job, then you are open to accept criticism because that's what helps you improve - and regardless of how much money you make and how many records you sell, not everyone will like your work. Doesn't mean you should change everything for those who don't, but this higher class, superiority of "I'm better than you because I write my own lyrics and produce my own songs, making your opinion wrong" shows exactly how immature and deluded some people are. Mini essay rant, but there's my two cents.

Maybe it was a protest against only the 'pop mix' being available before, seeing as the album version is the country one that's a) the one that was huge in the US and b) is FAR better.

Gotye  #3

Labyrinth  #4

JayZ/Kanye  #11

Alexandra B  #12

The chart version of Labyrinth has no "y" :heehee:

Re your Leona pic - she must've had to use a whole roll of double-sided sticky tape to prevent an accident! :P

It's pure pop masquerading as country, but that's besides the point.

You're saying that she can't be horrendous because she's won lots of Grammys? So have Jay-Z and Kanye.

I will say it one more time and this is the last. I didn't blame Jay Z and Kanye West. I think that their last song is horrendous. It is my opinion. I don't represent everyone in this world. I think that they are very talented in their music. "Hard Knock Life" was one of my favourite songs in 1998. I like also his collaborations with R'n'b singers. I don't think that he is horrendous. I know that he has a lot of Grammys too. I can't compare him with Taylor Swift because they belong in different genres. It would be pointless something like that. But if someone thinks that he knows a lot of things about music, he can't claim that Taylor Swift and the nostaligic voice of Birdy are horrendous... Of course, it doesn't mean that you have to like their music but if you respect the music, you owe to recognize their talent. Either you like them or not..

I heard Taylor Swift is doing a hip hop song with Dr. Luke soon, so maybe we can compare them after that.

I see where you're coming from, but you say about Niggas In Paris "I think that their last song is horrendous", and others will say that songs of Taylor Swift/Birdy are horrendous. It's all a matter of opinion.

Now THAT i can't wait to hear!!!

It sounds very funny that..I wouldn't like to hear this.. :D

It doesn't bother if someone will say that their last songs are horrendous. It's an opinion and it's acceptable. But not all their discography. You have to listen all their songs and after that you can say that they are totally horrendous. Most people listen one or two songs from an artist and they have a conclusion. It's not an arguement that.

Chris Brown vs Plan B next week then. I think it'll go like..

#1 - Chris Brown

#2 - Sean Paul

#3 - Katy Perry

#4 - Gotye

#5 - Plan B

I would have put Gotye at #3 but I can't see Katy falling #1 - #4, and I can't see Sean Paul falling much considering he's STILL gaining in percentage.
